The Dirty Earl
Tami D.

I've come here quite a few times to study. It has a great mix of people just hanging out and catching up along with those working/studying. I tried the Dirty Earl this time and that'll be my go-to drink for here. There's always a place to park and it seems that late afternoon is the perfect time to drop by.

Super chill spot great mocha latte ! A great stop to work or study or meet up with friends . Interesting menu I would like to try the good morning Sam Nitro and Thai tea sound really dope. The Mexican chocolate mocha late was amazing really was a great after lunch treat

Dog Day Coffee & Nitro is bigger inside than it looks from the street. The people running it are super kind, and it's definitely worth a visit, especially if you're a nitro coffee fan, since that's what they're known for. I got the matcha, which was fine but not a standout. Breakfast tacos come from Green Cart Foods, so they have the usual hotbox/tortilla-sticking-to-foil issues, not the shop's fault, just part of the setup. A few outdoor tables if you don't mind being right on Burnet, otherwise enjoy the comfy, dog-themed interior.

Great place to study!! So many tables, good bit of natural light. Not a lot of noise! Definitely recommend. I got the matcha latte, I was not blown away by it. Don't think I would get it again.

Sofa and coffee table with some board games

I haven't been here in awhile, in fact it has moved. This place is now a retail shop under The Marq at Burnett Apartments. There is parking in the parking garage behind the place. They have several options to choose from. Yesterday I had a blended iced coldbrew. It was pretty good. I have been in this location a couple of other times actually and they usually only have 1 barista and since they also do take out with doordash, etc that person can get quite busy. Fortunately for me, it was later in the day and it wasn't too busy. I sat in an armed chair facing a sofa. It kind of reminds me of the Central Perk on Friends, except you have to order at the counter. There is also bar seating along the windows as well as tables with chairs. They also have a few board games to play if you have time.

Went on a Friday afternoon and as we sat there most tables were taken up with people working quietly on their laptops. There's a few types of seating including bistro out front on the side walk. There's grab and go items and I believe you can order ahead. We had a couple of the fall coffees and a danish. Everything tasted really good but the hot coffee wasn't hot at all - just lukewarm. Overall it's a great local spot and the employees are friendly.

The service was quick and the staff were friendly. We tried the nitro flight and some tamales. I highly recommend the Dirty Earl nitro coffee. The atmosphere was very laid back and inviting.

These were really good. Thai tea mixed w/ cold brew - The Ralph

I've been here a few times over the past month, and I really love The Ralph. That's my go-to here. It's a Thai Tea concoction that comes out of their tap, and it's really smooth and tastes great. A bit sweet but not too much. I love that it comes out cold and don't need any ice and they fill it to the rim. They also have an Earl Gray Tea, and I found out they have a Mexican Mocha too - what? I have to try that. And they have a Nitro brew - sometimes I will mix that with the Ralph. Plus you get $1 off any large coffee in the afternoon - I think that's a weekly HH special. Service has always been nice and attentive here, everyone has been super nice and helpful. You can sample those drinks too just in case you're not sure, but my go-to is The Ralph. Place has plenty of seating, it's usually very quiet here, not overloaded or too crowded. Comfortable seating too - beats my old hangout Cuvee that is now gone (E. 6th). Parking garage usually has open spots as well.

Morning, Ralph and breakfast taco

Finally made my way here on a Sunday morning to check the place out. It's a pretty chill spot with amazing nitro coffees. I was able to sample the "hey earl" because the owner goes to my BJJ gym so I decided to come by and check out their other flavors since the milk tea flavored nitro was so good. I got the "morning Ralph" and it tasted just like Thai tea. It really makes me question if this is really nitro coffee. I also grabbed a green chile pork, egg and cheese taco while I was here and it's pretty damn delicious. I believe the barista told me they get their tacos from scratch kitchen. I might be wrong though since I have the memory of a gold fish. The place is also dog friendly I believe since they have doggie biscuits on the counter and water bowl outside for the pup. I read a previous review that only outside is dog friendly so I didn't stay inside too long with my pup after ordering. It was a nice day to drink some coffee outside anyways. Overall highly recommend with anyone that's into non traditional nitro flavors cause their "hey earl" and "morning Ralph" nitro is amazing!

It's a bummer they CLOSE EARLY but their nitros are tasty. Perhaps it's because they share the space with a restaurant? They are located in a plaza with an ample parking lot. I did the NITRO FLIGHT. $9 for four 4oz pours. I tried the - MORNING SAM: my least favorite. A dirty chai, I'm not sure why but this one left an odd aftertaste - MORNING RALPH: a well-balanced combination with Thai tea, perfectly sweet - DIRTY EARL: this one might be my favorite. The Earl Grey tea is strong & floral - MOCHA: the cold brew brings out the richness & chocolatey flavor They used OAT MILK in their nitros so great for those with dietary restrictions. I needed something to wake me up & these did the trick. The interior was pretty simple & old school. There weren't many outlets. I was lucky to find an extension cord by a couple of love seats

This was my first time visiting Dog Day. I got the nitro flight which gives you the option of 4 nitro cold brew selections. They each had oat milk in them and were mildly sweet. My choices were Dirty Earl (Earl grey), Morning Ralph (Thai tea), Morning Sam (chai) and Mocha. They were each true to the flavor with beautiful aromas. The Dirty Earl was my favorite followed closely by the Morning Ralph. The mocha and Morning Sam were tied so after drinking half of the glasses I combined the two and created a delicious chocolate chai. The space is attached to Nosh and Bevvy so has more of a pub vibe than a cafe. It was a great place to chat with friends over a coffee and could also be good to get some work done remotely.

I recently discovered Dog day and love coming here to work during the work week. It's always pretty quiet minus the morning rush and there's always plenty of seating available. The bar chairs are not the most comfortable but the rest of the tables are all fine. The most unique aspect about this place is their nitro lattes that they make with oat milk. The dirty earl is a classic and I highly recommend. They also have one that's made with Thai tea and it's absolutely delicious. Besides the nitro items they also have really good lattes. My only one complaint was one time when I got a baked good (one of the Zucchini Kill items) it was very stale so I would just be careful ordering those in case they're not fully fresh. Overall though, I love dog day and I will be back!

Is dogdaycafe a dog friendly cafe?

Hi Amanda! We love dogs and have dog friendly seating on the patio. (Unfortunately no inside seating as we share space with a restaurant.)

The service is excellent as well. I went to pick up some stickers for a my friend and I was able to get them. Thanks! And the coffee came out quickly. Thanks again! There is plenty of seating with lots of places to charge your laptop. There is also a big bulletin board that has a lot of information. The only negative thing is parking. I got a spot but because the parking lot is shared amongst several businesses and each putting up their own signs it is limited. There is a free parking garage a few hundred yards away, if you don't mind walking.

I get customer service jobs are difficult but all you have to do is smile and pretend that you enjoy your job and enjoy the guest-this is particularly important if you are the employee who is dealing with the customer head on. I had an experience here girl made me feel really uncomfortable for not promptly understanding how their credit card swiper works (my card has money on it, i just didn't see you had to pick the tip option first before moving forward with the transaction). She blatantly and painfully expressed her annoyance at my slowness. I choose to pay cash as opposed to using my card (it was easier in the moment). She dropped the change back in my hand like my hand was diseased. She did not say thank you or "have a good day", the normal, simple, easy yet soothing platitudes one shares in their position. I'm not sure if she is perpetually moody, miffed I did not tip, or just irritated by my incompetence. But either, this is disheartening, disappointing and unprofessional. This situation has permanently deterred me from a continued customer.

When we were finally approached the lady that approached us was nice and attentive. Our waitress was nice and friendly but she was manning a lot of tables for some reason. The food was pretty but ok. I got the original pancakes with a side of scrambled eggs. The pancakes came with strawberries, blueberries, bananas and syrup. The syrup was mixed with butter and it was a little too much butter which was off putting if you don't like a lot of butter. The pancakes were fluffy looking but tasted like a version of jiffy cornbread. I ate the fruit. The eggs were not scrambled really. I just felt like they put them in a bowl, scrambled with fork and put them on the grill but forgot to scramble them a little bit to cook the top of the eggs and then plated. The top of eggs was wet. I'm not a fan of raw eggs which happen to come out after I was done trying the pancakes and fruit. The ambiance was pretty in teal the music was perfectly light. It was my Birthday and I wanted pictures of all and everything that I ate it didn't disappoint in that aspect but they should water the plants.

5/5 Service 5/5 Food…read more5/5 Vibes We came in 50 minutes before closing for the AYCE mussels Monday and really hoped we could eat at least 2 plates before the restaurant/kitchen closed. Though service started off slow because the place was packed, we were incredibly thankful of their patience and generosity soon after. They welcomed us (and another table of customers) to stay past closing to eat more mussels and get our fill as they cleaned up since it took a while to cook each plate. Not only that, their coconut, lime, and basil sauce was delicious! My partner slumped up the first couple plates before we continued downing fries and mussels again. We hope to come back again (and earlier next time)!

Let me tell you the muscles were delicious that sauce that they were in you can literally drink it like soup. And the french fries were so good too. They were literally addicting and you just wanted to keep eating more and more and more. I could tell you, me and my friends ordered about three rounds of muscles each. And the rosé wine that we got was so nice and definitely worth the price. As you've seen my video of the pastries, I ended up caving and getting to go a artichoke croissant and a ham and cheese croissant and OMG they were divine. You can tell everything is freshly bake there. This is definitely a place. I will keep coming back too because everything was so good about it.
