I normally use Genie of Fairview Park, but they could not come out for two days, said were busy. Too bad for them, so I tried this. The tech. was very nice and professional, seemed to know what he was doing, no complaints there at all. We had two springs replaced on a heavy, steel double door. The cost of garage door parts was $809, labor was $232...no senior discounts asked/offered.....final price was over $1,000. I will like to tell everyone about our family experience. I made an appointment to get my mom garage door fixed, I miss the first one so I called and .are another appointment, the guy called I told them I'm on my way home. They came a Lil early which I wasn't mad My mom is 97 years old with a bad case of dementia. I enforced they not to deal with my mom, this was the case when she called an and made her own appt. I told them when they get there if my mom answer the door ask for me Not only did they not ask for me they didn't give her no receipt. They charged $30 for and estimate, $650 for fixing her garage. I called the company to complain and they said that they don't give put receipts that they ask for your email and send the receipt that way. My mom is 97 she don't have a email. So now where is her receipt? We found three places that charge $360. So if her garage door stop working we don't have any proof that there company fixed it read more

Called NGDS on Friday June 4th to come out and look at a broken garage door opener. Appointment was made for the next day (Saturday) with a tech scheduled to arrive between 1:00 and 4:00pm. During that time period, I received several calls and texts informing me that their tech was delayed and that the appointment time would be changed to between 5:00 and 8:00pm. Again, more calls and texts about the delays until finally, at 7:00pm, I said forget it and rescheduled for Tuesday June 8th between 11:00an and 2:00pm. When no one came or called on the rescheduled date/time I called NGDS to ask what happened. I was placed on hold and never received an answer about the no-show. If this is the kind of service they provide just to diagnose a problem, I can only imagine what type of service they would provide if/when they do show-up! Note: when I originally called to schedule an appointment, I was advised that there would be a $39.00 service call fee. However, The NGDS website shows a $0.00 service fee for the city in which I reside! So, if you do use this service, check your bill closely. I sure they will build in extra charges to make up for service fees and discount coupons! read more

Never ever use this company, Neighborhood Garage Door Services. They will fix and add unnecessary items, when in reality you will still need a motor. They charged me 200 for end plates. They cost 35 at Home Depot. After they left, the door again would not work. They then said the motor was bad and wanted $675. They are rated F with the Cleveland BBB. I filed a complaint. Their main headquarters is in Texas. They will not return a call or respond to an email on a complaint. They charge 4% if you use a Visa. Absolutely the worst service I've ever received! I scheduled an appointment for between 1-3, person finally showed up at 6:30. The repairs needed was a cable replacement, with no troubleshooting the repairman stated my premium equipment was junk and I needed a spring replacement, cost would be $350.00 with a 1 year parts warranty or $500.00 plus with a 10 year parts warranty, they won't warranty the labor. Paid the $30.00 service fee. I called Magic Garage Door the next morning who had a technician out in about 20 minutes, properly checked and repaired the system and charged $115.00 in another 1/2 hour. read more

I called to schedule an appointment and the technician showed up on the agreed upon time and day but explained that because our garage would need some new framing they would need to send someone else out to take a look. The appointment was scheduled for the next day at 12pm. By 12:30pm the next day when no one had arrived I called the main number and was told that the technician was probably running late and they would call dispatch to find out. After another a hour passed I called again, spoke with a different person who transferred me to another dept where the phone just rang with no VM and no one ever answering. I called back a third time, spoke with yet another person who looked into it and told me the technician would now be arriving closer to 3pm. By 4pm when no one showed up and no one called me I figured it was a lost cause. It has been over a week and no one ever reached out with an explanation, apology, or to try to reschedule. Do not use this company. Ordered a door, door was back ordered, finally delivered 2 weeks later. Install was set for 10am on a Friday. At 8:30 pm they showed to install the door. Saturday morning I wake up to not only the wrong door being installed, but the wrong door also had 2 dents. The story..."well sometimes they come damaged from the manufacturer." Well of course! But does that mean you should hang a damaged door? WHAT??? So for 2 weeks my contractor tried to reach these people for options (and he is nice). I called to schedule an appointment. I took the day off work so they could come as they said between 9 and 12. At 9:30, I get an automated text saying tech will now be there between 12 and 3. Well, that ruins my whole schedule because I made afternoon plans. So I called them to confirm that I had to cancel. The guy didn't apologize, didn't offer an excuse or reason, and didn't seem to give a crap about getting new business. I also texted and said it was poor business practice especially not to value other people's time and schedules and said I'll take my business elsewhere. His response was "got it." It is impossible to rate this company's work, because they never bothered to show up. They cancelled 3 times. On November 22nd 2019 I called a scheduled an appointment for 11/27/19 because I happened to have the day off. My scheduled time was 10 am- 1 pm. Around 9:45 am they call me to tell me their supplier was closed for the holiday. Thanksgiving was the next day so I thought that might be possible if they used a Mom and Pop supplier. So we rescheduled for Friday 11/29/19 between 10-1 again. Then on 11/29/19 around 12:15 I get a call saying they have bad news their supplier is closed through the weekend. Seems kind of strange, but I agreed to reschedule again. I work Monday through Friday so we rescheduled for the following Saturday (12/7/19) between 9 am - 12 pm. 12 pm rolls around and nobody has shown up. So I call and they tell me somebody tried calling me half hour ago and they can't come out today. They never called and he did not even state the issue this time. if I could give a negative for this company I would. I contacted the company early Tuesday morning after the connection to my garage door broke. I was told that no one was available until Wednesday (there goes the 24 hour/same day service false advertisement). I was unable to stay home Wednesday due to work obligations so made arrangements to stay home from work on Thursday and have someone come to my home between the hours of 9-12. I received a call Thursday morning cancelling the appointment and requesting to reschedule due to staffing. I explained that I took of work and could not stay home the next day. I was told the a manager would call me back at 1000am, no one called so I called back. I was hung up on by the first representative who stated he could not do anything to help me and had to address other calls and abruptly hung up. Now, if I had not just paid this company 1 year and a half ago to install a brand new garage door opening I would not continue wasting my time trying to get them to come out to repair something that they obviously didn't do right in the first place. I hired these guys to fix my garage door after hitting it with my car due to an icy driveway. I told the repairman I would tension the spring myself and do the cables as long as he got the door moving. He came out and straightened the track and put two bolts on the bottom and middle bracket. But after tensioning and attaching cables the door still won't go up. The track was not straight and you could see that when you stepped back and looked at it, I moved the bracket myself because the track was at an angle. So I called and emailed the management, no response. Get ahold of someone the next day and they said they'll send someone back out. They do but it took 4 days after promising he would come each day. Thursday I get a call, he's at my house at 3:00 instead of 4:00 like dispatch told me, so I have to leave work earlier. According to my brother he claims the door is having issues cause I took the cables back off. I took the cables off because they were hitting the track on the side where I impacted. So he straightens the track more, gives me a long roller for the opposite side then leaves. I retension the cables and the door won't go up, also it's hitting the wood on the roof due to the track where I hit. So for $300 I paid to have the track "straightened" and a garage door that is still stuck. Also his truck got stuck because it was RWD and he tore up my yard, my friend had to pull him out with his 4WD truck. But hey, the trenches in the turf really bring the place together. My garage door merely needed a new torsion spring ($50) and that is all that was replaced, yet they charged me for entire spring assembly ($250). After repair , it was clear that Assembly had never been replaced as still had same paint splatter pattern as my other door in same garage. When I called Neighborhood Garage Door to bring to their attn, they could care less and would not investigate nor provide me with a copy of invoice of part(s) used (since they only purchased a spring). Total rip off. We were told over the phone that they would waive the $30 consultation fee. They sent a guy over the same day to check out our broken garage door. He was here for 30 seconds and barely looked at it and told us it would be $500 to fix a spring. He called his manager and lowered the price to $375, which is still way too expensive for what needed to be fixed. When we said we would be getting another estimate, he said he wasn't leaving without the $30 consultation fee, despite being told earlier that it was waived. I called for a Lube &Tune Special from ValPak and should have known better. The technician arrived and did nothing other than attempt to upsell me on problems with my garage door. He stated in the notes on the work order it was unable to go up and down which was untrue and all I wanted was maintenance. When it was clear this was not going to happen I stated I would just pay the service call and then think about the other work. He needed to call his "manager" who proceeded to state he could offer discounts for an exhoribant roller and spring replacement job. I politely declined, paid for the call, and sent them on their way. I believe this is purely a front for a network of subcontractors and there is nothing really "local" about this company. After ordering and putting a 200.00 deposit down, i was called on a Sunday to advise me they were not able to get the gray door in the vinyl back but for additional 500.00 i could upgrade to the steel-back but they were willing to give it to me for only 300.00. Didn't even check to see what was wrong with the door and started to lie about how they didn't make parts for that door anymore, (I looked the parts up on the internet before he arrived, they have thousands of sites selling them, it's only a seven year old model).
