I have a Havanese puppy and I took her to a different groomer. the next weekend we went camping and my poor puppy had knots on top of knots from his halter. I made an appointment with the same groomer as before. Waited 1 week for this appointment, got there with my boy and was told they would have to reschedule because it would take longer than she had left time for. I tried two different groomers who did not return my call. I went to Neighborhood Pet Shoppe and told the groomer, Shanyn, there what had happened with the previous groomers. She was very sweet and understanding. I told her how the knots were getting bigger from the camping trip.(It was the undergrowth of hair and no matter how I tried I could not get the knots out.) She told me she could make an appointment in 3 weeks. I booked the appointment. She texted me Saturday the day of the appointment told me she had a family emergency, Ok I'm good with that! Texted back and asked if I would have to wait another 3 weeks. She asked if I could come in that Monday. She even said she would give a 10 percent off for the inconvenience. I told her no need for that I was just glad he was going to be done Monday. At this point, I asked my husband why I had to wait 3 weeks when she fit me in the next day they were open. now I know why!!! I truly believe she never had intensions of grooming my dog that day. I got there and she said she could not do my dog that day. He probably would have to be sedated. She made me feel like an inadequate dog owner. She asked if I ever brushed my dog or bathed him. Very rude questions. She was told everything upfront including how bad the knots were. This is the problem nowadays, people do not know their place!! She maybe very good at grooming (I will never know because I will never go back to her) But her customer service is horrible!!! I will spread the word!! Long story not so short, I went to another groomer that day, showed them my boy and he will be groomed Wednesday!!! It has been almost a month and a half since this all started. read more

Not impressed with this business. Went there today and not one associate acknowledged/spoke to us - even when we walked by the cashier where 3 associates were gathered. This is not the first time we have been ignored. I will not be back to support this business unfortunately. read more

This place is awesome, the staff was really knowledgeable and very attentive to anything I needed help with. And they were just overall really nice and friendly people. It's a nice alternative to petsmart and petco which seem to be the only pet stores anywhere. Also, the place is massive. I'm not sure how the prices compare to other pet shops but the overall experience was an enjoyable one and I'll continue to go here for all of my pet needs! read more

Took my parakeets here to get their nails trimmed: both birds had bloody nails and were cut way way too short knowing well the vain would be hit, No powder was placed to stop the bleeding. I don't know why they cut the nails so short. Never going back. read more

This is what a quality pet store should be. The livestock is healthy, the store is clean, the stock is varied and great, and the staff is top-notch. Skip the big box stores and come here. Prices are reasonable. read more

We love the Neighborhood Pet Shoppe! It's super clean & the staff are very knowledgeable. Our kids get really excited for trips to pick up dog food- they love seeing the various kinds of pets they have. We use their grooming services regularly for our Cockapoo. Went online twice and sent a message the site says they respond within 48 hours it's been a week no response. Went in the store three times and customer service was non existent bout have to get a bull horn to get anyone's attention. The selection was mediocre at best. But if you want to watch people walk around with a bird or see a cool tortoise it's the place to go. Just don't expect customer service. In person or online.they will how ever answer the phone if that's any help. As for myself I will not be going back. read more

I recently bought a chinchilla from this place and the workers were very helpful! i had little to no knowledge about these little creatures and they cultured me very well on their habitat and food preferences. everyone was very friendly! i also like how they allow you to play with the animals before purchasing them and the animals they let roam around the store! read more
