I had one of the worst billing experiences of my life. Over $20,000 astronomical bill for basic imaging, an ER evaluation, and urine test. Then a 2nd bill for over $2,000. NOTHING about my visit justified these excessive charges. I have disputed them and no response. The services I received DID NOT match the severity level they billed me for and tests were performed without consent including a excessive $684 pregnancy test. Multiple CT scans done without informing me. These are predatory billing practices. I do not recommend this predatory billing emergency center. read more

I've been here before with my son and the service we received was just fine. Last night we came in after a car accident and the woman performing our xrays was entirely too rough with our necks knowing we had neck pain. She gripped and grabbed the back of my neck and stuck her finger in it unnecessarily whilst performing her duties. The first time I thought it was weird but maybe I was just thinking things, but she did it three times. When i got back into our room my neck was actually hurting worse and burning for some weird reason, but like my muscle. The man I was with said she was a little rough with his neck as well and I just wanted to note it in a review. Overall I'd say they have good service, but the older gentleman I remember working there was definitely far more gentle with performing the X-rays. read more

Do not ever go here unless you are about to die. I had a really bad sprain on my ankle and came in for 2 x-rays, Staff up front will not give you any estimate on costs, only that it will go through insurance and get final bill 6 weeks later, date of service was 9-26-2020, I finally received a bill on 1-14/2021, with a statement date of 12-14-2020, and a due date of 1-13-2021, how do you receive a bill the day after it's due? for a total of $5,400!!!!! It saddens me that my first Yelp review is a negative one. HOWEVER, I feel like this experience warrants a review. The wait in the lobby itself was not long approximately 20 minutes-ish, however the nurse who proceeded to take my vitals stated verbatim "did your boo boo scare you" after coming in after having an unusual reactions to a knife wound. Off-putting but i proceeded to wait and allowed the staff to incorrectly take my blood by failing to occlude my arm adequately resulting in blood pouring down my arm. I then waited a complete 60 minutes for the Dr. to come back to the exam room I'd patiently been waiting in. To tell me I was "all good" in 30 seconds. I am currently undergoing a Doctorate program and did not appreciate losing 2+ hours of my life. P.s. I'm staying on the high-to-low side because this is a really nice facility and has treated me well so far (yes, I've been here the entire day). I reported this morning because of chest pain, and was immediately seen. I hadn't even written my name on the registration form before being called back. I've had a complete work-up, and was given the option of staying for observation or being transporting to the local hospital (and a room would have already been arranged). I chose the hospital, but they are at capacity. However, staying here has been quite nice: not overlooked, can run same exact tests as hospitals, very clean, free snacks for my visitors, great cable, and a real hospital room. Notice: this is an emergency center, not an urgent care. In short, this is like a stand-alone hospital. After reading some reviews, I'm just really nervous about the bill. Until then, I'll be sure to encourage my guests to load up on the complimentary snack. And although this is a hospital, I'm still not sure of the meal situation...but the morphine makes up for it...shhhhh... Immediately, upon discharge tomorrow, I will be headed to the pre-arranged cardiologist appointment. read more

I sat here in pain for over two hours on 1/30/23 with no assistance I arrived at 10:23 and it's now 12:38 the lady working the front desk was extremely rude and unhelpful. I asked to speak to a doctor multiple times and when he came out he was extremely rude and didn't wanna offer me any aide I will be reaching out to someone above them all because it's truly sad how they treat people in need read more

The first night my daughter (2) and husband came in they were seen by Dr. Chukwuocha. I do NOT think this doctor took what was going on with my daughter to the best of her ability and I do NOT think she was very professional. We were sure she was suffering from croup. They then did all appropriate test including RSV and strep, both negative. They did a chest X-ray, it was clear. My husband and I denied the covid test and at that point she treated them differently. She gave my husband medication that we later found out was too strong for her age. How do we know this? Because we had to come back to this ER the next day where we were treated by a male doctor (I don't have his name) but he took her case more seriously. My husband went ahead with the covid test and it was NEGATIVE! My little girl then took her first ambulance ride to TCH where she was admitted. They told us that doctor gave her too strong of a prescription and did not handle her case how she should've. You should never dismiss a patient despite them choosing to not want to take a covid test. She dropped the ball, She did not give my daughter a breathing treatment or anything to try to help her, and because of that my daughter spent 3 days and 2 nights in hospital. read more

Don't recommend, The tech didnt know how to draw blood ,left my hands bruised and swollen, also my wrist . I cant move my wrist cause of the pain. when the tech removed the iv she didnt even even use a gause or a cotton ball and got blood everywhere including on the floor. I was told the ct scan wasnt safe while preagnant, and got the option of doing it or not obviously i chose not to thinking of my baby. And still had to sign papers saying i was leaving without the doctors consent. read more

Do not ever take your babies here! I just took my 1 year old daughter bc she couldn't stop throwing up for over 3 hours and from the moment they called us back the staff was so rude. the dr would not even examine her at first. he walked in and just told me don't give her anything to eat or drink and let her go to sleep and when i told him that every time she has tried to fall asleep she throws up again and he just shrugged his shoulders. so i said are you serious and he said yes then said i can examine her if you want and i finally just told him no we will leave. i will never take her there again. thanks for nothing. read more

I really wish me and my family read these reviews before we "chose" to go here. Our visit was Sunday March 8th - I recall as I was flying to Asia that evening. My 2-yr old son was staying with my in-laws in Baytown and my son had a persistent cough that I knew would cause some worry to the in-laws (understandable). My family was recommended to this place in case of emergency although I don't know on what basis. That day, I rushed to Baytown, knowing I was heading straight to the airport after my son was seen. His coughing was too much to ignore. The first clue - the place was completely empty and waaaaay tooooo niiiiiice. Just like a casino, someone has to pay the bills to keep this place afloat. My son was seen at a reasonable time (about 3pm) after only a short wait (again, the place was empty. The back part of the place was like the Tardis, much larger than you'd think from the outside. I had a bad feeling that our family was overreacting to my son's cough, and right before we went back I realized we were not at Urgent Care, but an ER. Too late - and nowhere for me to go with my impending flight. Another gut check I should have followed - don't go to an empty ER. We were there about an hour. I sensed the chest X-rays were a bit extreme (I thought X-rays only looked at bones, what do I know, but aren't CT scans used to look at the lungs [although unreasonable for a toddler to sit for a CT]?). And noted that he was examined by a physicians assistant, a physician, and tech who did the X-rays. We were there just over an hour. Total billing to Insurance? $3,465.47. For a cough. Total I am expected to pay? Over 85% of that (oh and thanks for taking $200 at the door). I live in Houston and wouldn't expect to get gouged this badly in the Medical Center. Treatment plan? Cough medicine. This place seems to be the epitome of insurance overcharging. My insurer won't deal with them and our negotiations to reduce the billing are far from overwhelming. I see a $400 insurance adjustment. Medical staff? I'll say they were all nice and professional - they are not running the business and did their jobs well. Are they trained to overdiagnose, overtest, and overcharge? Who knows. No thanks Neighbors Emergency Center. People of Baytown - BEWARE! To the management, you certainly can figure out who we are, please make a reasonable effort to match my punishment to the crime. read more

I had a severe pain in my foot for a couple of days. After doing all I could. They examined it and think it's a bad case of gout. Glad to know there are places like this that will take you in and work with you on pricing and solutions to your problem. read more

I gave this place 5 stars, because from the phone call I made to check if they accept my insurance, to the check-in, to the time I left; the staff was amazing! The receptionist was very friendly, the Medical Assistant was very sweet and the nurse was extremely nice. I have three kids and even though we were there for one ( baby) all of my children were acknowledged and treated great. The pediatric room is very cute ( Disney theme) they have snacks galore and a TV ( my kids were happy). The wait to see the doctor was less than 10 min. ( being an ER, I expected a long wait). The physician's bedside manor was awesome, he was very upbeat and very attentive. It's 12pm on a Thursday... Not crowded at all. State of the art equipment and extremely clean. So for my first time being here, I approve. read more

This emergency center will be the only one I ever go to! It is very clean and comfortable waiting area... I didn't wait no more than 10 minutes and the room they gave us was just for kids with a mini TV. I highly recommend this place to parents with kids because you won't have to wait in a room full of sick people to get medical help ASAP. Also the nurses and doctors were very kind read more

I am a fan, but was told by the doctor after they had found no indications my pains in my ribs were no life threatening and need to understand this place was for Emergency only. I just received my bill from a recent trip to the Neighbors Emergency Center at Lakeline (Austin) and it was quite a shock. A few weeks back I ran my son down because it looked like he had a very nasty spider bite on his leg. It was a Sunday after 10 when he got home from work and we felt like it really needing looking at... Because the minor emergencies had just closed Neighbors Emergency Center at Lakeline was our closest option and seemed like a good idea. We walked in - they took his temp and pulse ox - used an ultrasound - determined that it was not a spider bite. We knew that he had staph in a different site (he was already on antibiotics) and told them up front - we just hadn't made the connection because it looked completely different - so we actually supplied the diagnosis (!) 30 minutes start to finish. The first bill arrived for $470 and we thought - not too bad. But that turned out to be the Physicians bill...the actual Emergency Visit bill just arrived to the tune of $1300. Seriously? The ultrasound (2 minutes a the most) cost $115 and the pulse ox (aka the thingy they clip to your finger) was $126 and why did they even charge for that? The entire visit cost us almost $1750. I doubt that this would have been the choice we would have made if we'd had any idea. After discussing with a few other neighbors - we found out that we were not the only ones to make this mistake. I went to Neighbors on March 16 because I had shortness of breath. The staff was very nice, the clinic very clean. I got an Xray after the doc thought my right lung sounded decreased. Turns out, it wasn't just decreased, it had collapsed. I was immediately taken to another room and prepped to get a chest tube, right there. I asked if it was going to be painful and the nurse said she didn't know. I'm not blaming her, she probably doesn't see it every day. I got a local injection to numb the area on my ribs where the tube was going in. No pain meds after that. The doc tried twice to get the tube in, pushing and pulling on me. While I wasn't fainting from pain, I sure was wishing I would be. After the second try I yelled at him not to touch me anymore and he sent the nurse to get some morphine. That seemed to do the trick for me, he got the tube in eventually and I felt instant relief. I was transported to San Jac after that. The pulmonologist at the hospital pulled the tube after three days stating that the incision looked like it was cut with a screw driver. I guess not even the doctor at Neighbors does chest tubes often. All in all it was a good experience. I wish I would have been given something for pain right away. read more

The service was good the rates outrageous!!! $3,540.43 billed to my insurance $752. Of that for the dr. Billed for two shots when only given one. ... I would of never gone there had I know ahead that they bill as an ER not an urgent care. Wish the staff would of told me at check in when I asked about them taking my insurance. I went to the emergy center after having a bad reaction from the anesthesia after having two teeth extracted on Friday. I could not eat or drink anything without automaticly vomiting. By Saturday night I couldn't take it any more and went to Neighbors Emergency Center. It took about 15 minutes after feeling out 2 sheets of paper work for them to get me in to see the doctor. The took my vitals and then passed me to my room. It was very clean and the staff was very nice. The doctor told me it was probably a bad reaction to the anesthesia and I would get an IV to rehydrate me and some nausea medication thru the IV as well. The nurse who put my IV had no idea what she was doing or was new. After sticking me with the needle and trying to take 2 vials of blood she let the IV slip and blood squirted on the bed and dripped down my arm. After my IV I felt a little better and was given a prescription for anti-nausea and sent home. It was a good facility if my nurse would if been better trained it would of got 5 stars. read more
