I needed some help moving , so I called a few places and Neighbors was definitely the most professional from the start. They asked me about details on the phone and told me what was provided to me. A quote and confirmation was emailed shortly afterwards. At first I was thinking $160/hr and I could just have them for an hour but it is a 3hr minimum. Just a heads up. BACKGROUND It's been moving season for my family and I've definitely taken a lot of time out to research countless of moving companies around my aunt's space up in Sacramento, that would provide us with quality service at a good competitive price for my aunt's move from Norcal down to Socal. Neighbor's Moving definitely did that. Although at first we were pretty cautious about trying out a newer company, I'm really glad we had them assisting us. PROCESS (5/5) The team arrived promptly at 9:30AM as promised and they were very sweet and professional. After a brief chat with them, they went straight to work. They made sure to communicate with us any chance that they could get, to ensure that we were accommodated and all of our requests were met. They made sure only to pack what we instructed them to, they asked for our more fragile items so that they could more carefully wrap and securely pack them, to ensure a safe and easy trip. They handled the heavier items with ease as well! Attentive to making sure they didn't damage anything and maneuvering their way out of my aunt's small apartment. No damaged walls! They gave us an estimate on how long the process would take, but ended up finishing in less time, which is nothing my aunt and I could've complained about. As for the unpacking, they were just as efficient. They placed everything where we needed them to be placed, and made sure to get out of our way as soon as they could. I was super stressed out about moving my stuff from Northridge to Santa Barbara. Thankfully, I came across Neighbor's Moving after hearing about them from a friend. I've honestly never heard of this place so I was a bit iffy on reaching out to them but my friend gave great positive feedbacks about them so I took the chance. I gave them a call and surprisingly, the process went smoothly. I asked if they could come pick up my stuff around 10am and they came right on time! Everything about the process was easy. They have a fast response rate which made my life SOO much easier. They also have great flexibility with their schedule and are more available. This company deserves a published write up for the scam they are pulling off. They ruined numerous things of mine during a move so I decided to go to their office and speak with someone in person. The address they give is fake. It's literally empty office space in EDH town square that they neither own nor lease. When pressing them to meet someone in person, they say "we can't disclose our location due to the valuable things we store". LOL. This is not a local company. They operate out of Eastern Europe and have a network of high school aged Russian kids who speak zero English doing their work. They will insanely overwrap your stuff, break things, and take way more time than needed. I've moved many times over the last 30 years and this company, without a doubt, was by far the worst. And there will be no recourse for your ruined stuff or overcharged move. Consider yourself warned. read more

Timely, communicative, efficient, careful and kind. I hired them for my move 2 weeks ago and they were fantastic. They plastic wrapped my furniture to keep it tidy and protected. They boxed loose items for safe delivery. The price was competitive and fair, more so if you pay cash. I tipped them because I was so happy with their service. It's a three hour minimum which seems fairly standard for the industry. It only took them two hours because they were so efficient. They carefully moved large furniture so as not to damage walls. I was really, REALLY happy with Oleg and his two helpers. They were supposed to arrive between 9 - 10am, but they were here by 8:55. They moved at lightening speed but were still very careful with my furniture. I was given an hourly rate and told that there was a three hour minimum (pretty standard) - this didn't bother me because I assumed that my three bedroom house, 2.5 car garage, and extensive lawn furniture/planters would take much longer than three hours to load and unload. Great movers, fair rates. The dispatcher who set up my appointment was clear and helpful, and let me know about the discount for paying cash. They sent four guys for the price of three because their start time was delayed. Oleg and his team were friendly, professional, careful, and quick. They took apart and reassembled all my furniture, and it all got to my new house undamaged. They even managed to get some very heavy furniture up the stairs without a scratch. I have a high tech refrigerator and the doors needed to be disconnected and removed in order to move it out of its space to prevent damage. The guys didn't want to do it since they weren't familiar with the model, but they did provide tools so I could do it myself, and they lent a hand as well. I was skeptical at first judging that this company is new but we needed a moving company ASAP so we decided to try this company out. We gave them a call and were able to schedule an appointment the next day. They arrived at 9:00 a.m. the next day and they helped us packed and moved everything within a few hours. They were very careful with moving every furniture that we had and made sure they didn't damage the walls or furniture. They even used special wooden crates for all of our valuable and fragile items. Never in all my years would I trust a moving company. One of my friends had several of her things missing when she used a moving service years back. However, with Neighbors Moving I had another friend use their service so she actually recommended me which is why I felt safe and was able to give it a shot. They were on time, fairly priced, and most importantly, fast during the move. The reason for the 3 stars is that there was a damage in a couple of our furniture items, and although they were responsive when a claim was made with their customer service team, they didn't take accountability for the damage and just provided a nominal goodwill payment for the trouble (which I had to negotiate a bit). I probably would hire them again, but next time I would make sure I do a walkthrough with them before the move, to ensure we are on the same page and have proof about the condition of the furniture before the move took place. Also, even though the company seems to be local Sacramento area, it seems that they are expanding through California, since the payment for the claim came from an address in southern California instead of the area where I live. Overall, I think for the price they did a job better than the rest, but you need to make sure you are on-top to ensure things are handled properly and there is no damage to your furniture. read more

Don't believe any of the positive reviews this moving company gets. They were horrible from start to finish. They called us the morning of our scheduled move to tell us their driver didn't show up to work so they were going to have to reschedule our appointment. The day of our rescheduled move, the movers showed up over an hour late and moved so slowly my husband and 70 yr old dad had to help them so we could get everything loaded up in the truck in time. To give some perspective on this, we moved 10 doors down to another home and the movers wrapper layers upon layers of plastic wrap over our belongings... it was just A BIT excessive to say the least. While the movers were kind, they were slow. We had already moved the majority of our belongings and really only had our large furniture and garage left to move and it took them from 10:30 a.m. to bear 9 p.m. to get the job done (4 young guys). There was just a complete lack of urgency on their end. Should have guessed because they charge hourly. Please do yourself a favor and save yourself the trouble I went through by hiring a different mover. Oh, and don't bother going to their address to dispute any issues you have because you will find a "For Lease" sign up. read more

"I LOVE MOVING", no one ever said! However, using these guys made it a whole lot better. They listened to my concerns, wrapped everything, moved with a purpose and not once did I have a complaint about thier work or work ethic. In fact, they have a very high work standards. So much so, I offered to get them lunch in an effort to get them to take a break. Thier attitudes were impeccable in 110 heatwave. My family and I just recently moved to Stockton because my dad got a job here and my sister is attending UC Davis. At first we were hesitant and worried that the cost of moving from OC to NorCal would be too expensive due to the distant and the amount of stuff that we have. We contacted them through phone and they got back to us within the first hour and then they immediately walked us through the process and pricing and how long it would take to get our stuff delivered. She said she would "look into it" and "call me back". I have never heard from these people again. They took ALL my money and then some (I had to call the next day to pay the balance over the phone). I would never typically write a yelp review, but I have given this company enough chances to make things right. They did a great job moving our furniture, but unfortunately a fire arm was stolen during the move. I've made multiple attempts to reach out to the company to get this settled, with little to no response and no resolution in the matter. Stealing a firearm is a federal offense and reportable to the authorities. I'm not so much worried About the cost of the gun, but more about the fact that they had somebody that would be willing to steal this type of item. I would not suggest hiring this company. read more

Update: Stay clear...they are UNLICENSED per Department of Consumer Affairs!!! I recently used this moving company for our move. They showed up on time which was nice. They did not use a dolly when moving my refrigerator which left a large gouge in my vinyl flooring. They also hit the corner of the wall and took off about 3 inches of drywall. No apology was given from the mover when it was pointed out. Only one out of the four workers really worked hard during our move and tried his best to make things go smoother, I wish I had his name, he was Hispanic. The other three were seen sitting around in the truck while the clock was ticking and I was getting charged. It took them 6 hours to load and unload a 26 foot truck. I've hired movers in the past that have done two trips/two truck loads in that amount of time and didn't cause damage. They were slow and careless with our items. At the end of the move, the mover called in so that I could pay the bill. It was very awkward because while he was on the phone with the dispatcher, she asked if I wanted to leave a tip. I said no and he got irritated. Really?!?! You wanted me to leave you a tip after all of the issues? Later, when I went to put food into my refrigerator, we found out that it was broken as well. I immediately called the company and filed a claim for the broken refrigerator, gouged vinyl flooring, and the drywall. I emailed the company today for a status update since my family of 4 is now without a refrigerator. :/ No response so far. I would not recommend this company at all, they do not seem to care about your property or your time/money. This appointment cost me $1280...yikes! Update: I received an email from the company offering me a whopping $200 for my $1400 refrigerator and wall damage. No offer for my flooring :/ I was also told that because I didn't purchase third-party insurance, that was all they could offer. Stay clear of this moving company!!! If you use them, which I would NEVER recommend, don't forget to request the third-party insurance because they don't tell you about that. :/ Mind blowing how a legit moving company can get away with this and not want to make things right. I am very happy to write this positive review of Neighbor's Moving. We did an in-town move in the Rancho/Folsom area at the busiest moving time of the year (late June.) We are a family of 5 and moving from a small one-story 3 bedroom (where we had been living for 15 years) to a slightly larger, one-story 4 bedroom. We had some pieces of large furniture to move, plus our refrigerator. And lots and lots of books, toys, art supplies, sports stuff, etc. We had a lot of stuff. I started calling movers that I found on Yelp the week before we needed to move (we only found a new place at the last minute) and several moving companies were already booked, and the ones who were not booked wanted to send only two men and a truck. I knew two men was not enough, it would take forever. I was getting worried we would not find a mover. I called my realtor and asked her for a recommendation and she suggested Fuller movers. The Fuller sales person came to my house to do an estimate (no one else offered this, and I thought this was a good sign.) But he told me it would take EIGHT HOURS at $220 per hour for 4 men to move us. I was in shock at the thought of our move costing over $1600, but feeling desperate I asked him to email the estimate so I could show my husband. The email never came, and after waiting a day for it, I called the company back and left a message. No one ever got back to me. Then I called Neighbors Moving. Neighbors was able to move us the exact day we wanted starting at 9am. They agreed 4 men was the correct amount, and it was less than Fuller per hour with and even slightly more off if we paid cash. They estimated (on the phone) that the move would take 4-7 hours. I needed to take the kids places on moving morning, so my husband met the movers. I figured I would be done in plenty of time to show them where stuff went in our new home. Neighbors did everything right. Called us that morning to make sure we were ready to move. Arrived at 9AM on the dot. At 9:16, my husband texted me to say they were "really moving" "Are they being careful?" I responded. "Yes," he replied. At 9:48 he texted that "the fridge is out, last items" and told me he was going to the bank to get the cash to pay the movers. At 10:28, the head of the moving crew called me. They were at the new house, and they had beat my husband there! Luckily my husband arrived while we were on the phone. At 11:26 my husband texted me "They are done." I could not believe it. They had done our move in just under 2.5 hours! Now, we were VERY prepared to move. Everything that was going in a box was packed and sealed before they arrived, and most of our boxes were already out in the garage ready to be more easily loaded onto the truck. Also my husband and son had ferried lots of the "little" stuff (like lamps, bicycles, hanging clothing, small tables and the like, plus a few of the lighter boxes) over to the new house before moving day. STILL, I was amazed at how speedy and professional Neighbor's Moving was! Even if we had not moved anything ourselves, I am confident they would have finished the job at the lower end of the 4-7 hour estimate. My one complaint? They were SO fast I was not at the new house to tell them where to put everything! They did put everything exactly where my husband told them, so you know that means things needed a little shifting later :) - but that was not their fault! Also no damage at all, to belongings or either house, no losses, no problems at all. We had a great experience with this company. Four guys arrived about a half hour ahead of scheduled time (they called an hour ahead of their arrival to let us know they would be at our home then). They were very efficient, friendly, and professional. All furniture pieces were wrapped before being loaded on the truck. Since our next home isn't ready yet, they brought the load to our storage unit. We were concerned that it might not all fit, but they strategically placed all the items so that it all fit. Our big furnitures are taken cared of and places where they are supposed to be on our next apartment. I've wish I had known about this moving company! We hired another company out of Sacramento 2 years ago and not only did they overcharge us and weren't the greatest at moving, their personalities were very poor AND they had stolen $1k worth of weights. I've gotten quotes from other moving companies and Neighbor's Moving is the lowest you can get. A 3 hour minimum is how it is with every moving company I have inquired with. We were moving from one unit to another in the same complex and I underestimated our movers when they first arrived. They were younger gentleman who were on the leaner side, who I didn't think were capable of moving our heavy boxes and furniture. But to my surprise, they were more than capable of handling the move perfectly! They knew what they were doing even when it came to maneuvering items through the door frames and hallways without a scratch. They each had their own dolly that was stacked to the top with boxes or loaded with a super heavy furniture and was able to make it up 2 flights of stairs on their own. I personally had a few minor issues that weren't a big deal hence the 4 stars. The person I set my appointment with, Josh, wasn't the friendliest. Which was why I was hesitant on even going forward with the company cause I thought he'd be the one doing the move. But I didn't have to speak with him again after setting the appointment. Another issue was one of the movers tended to wait for the other to go in and out of the unit to load more instead of moving at their own pace. They did seem to slow down a bit when it came to get things out so we did have to leave some stuff behind, but they got the heavy stuff out first which was our main concern. The gentleman with the shorter hair kept a clear communication with me throughout the move which was greatly appreciated. I had given both movers a tip on top of the complete total because of how efficient they were throughout the whole thing. No items were damaged. Everything was neatly moved and stacked.
