Fresh and delicious. The rice was cooked to perfection. Warm and soft. The sushi rolls had a nice amount of fish and tasted great. The soups we had (Tom Yum) and (Won Tom) were both full of flavors. The price for Neko is definitely on the very high side. Same price as we paid up in New York City. However, the quality give me reason to not go elsewhere in Pinehurst. Service was also excellent. So tell me how my partner and I go for our anniversary. We are seated and mind you we understand that there are two big parties. And I have to say this was the worst service we have ever had here. We actually loved this place but after this experience we will not be back there. We were seated for thirty minutes without even being addressed. Serving staff passed up by and did not even acknowledge us. It really shouldn't be that staff ignore customers and just walked by us without addressing us. We did like the food here, but honestly this is not acceptable and we will not be returning. Would not recommend it to anyone as a customer you expect a certain level of service and respect and this place did not even meet the bare minimum in this category. Disappointing. read more

The specialty sushi rolls were great and the seafood fried rice was good but we did find a few shrimp shells in it but was not a big bother to us. There are many other establishments that want their customers to...be accommodated, return and recommend your place as a friendly place to come. This cute restaurant is the coziest spot in Pinehurst! We had a lovely experience- The menu is extensive + authentic. As a vegan, it can be hard to find places that are accommodating, but their menu had very clearly labeled plant based options! Everything we ordered was so fresh + beautifully plated- I highly recommend this restaurant, especially for people with dietary restrictions. I went to Neko Restaurant on Sunday evening with my family. The food was really good, but unfortunately the experience was ruined when I realized I was overcharged. Our bill was $105.56, and I left a $25 tip. When I checked my Amex statement later, I saw a charge of $190. The restaurant claimed I had left an $85 tip, which I absolutely did not. They altered the tip and total, making my $25 tip look like $185 and my total look like $1,185.56. I went back to the restaurant and they refunded me, but instead of apologizing, the manager tried to blame it on my 2-year-old "changing the numbers." Completely unprofessional and dishonest. This is credit card fraud. Please check your receipts and credit card statements carefully if you decide to eat here. read more

Arrived an hour before closing and the staff was very accommodating and genuine. A spicy Tom Yum soup with shrimp warmed up the atmosphere, complimented with a chilled bottle of sake on pack ice. The sushi ordered was met with a chuckle from the staff - but a boat for one is hilarious and delicious. The tastiest rolls where the Hamachi Chilli, Pink Lady Roll, and Hot Lady Roll - just enough chili, fresh jalapenos, and crunch were needed. 10/10 will visit again for the delicious food and great service. read more

Ordered takeout and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes - When I went in to get it, I was told it would be another 5-10 minutes and to sit at the bar. 15 minutes later, a lady comes to tell me it will be ANOTHER 10-15 minutes! We went here on a Thursday night and the place was starting to fill up around 6 PM. The place has a laid back vibe. We tried the hot lady roll, summer rolls, and the red curry. The peanut sauce that came with the summer rolls was different, but it was amazing! The flavors paired so well with the summer roll. The hot lady roll was fresh and delicious. However, the curry left us feeling like something was missing. One thing to note is that the spice levels are tailored to the demographics. So if you want it spicy, you have to tell them.
