However, I was alarmed at the "uniform" this associate was wearing when picking up smoothies for my mom and I yesterday. I don't know how anyone else feels about this, but I think it's unacceptable to be wearing a sweatshirt with an assault rifle on it when working at a smoothie shop. I go to Nektar almost daily in Lake forest, CA but was visiting my mom in SCV this weekend and figured we'd go to our favorite smoothie place for lunch. Not only were the two associates standoffish and rather rude, they weren't wearing any type of uniform that signified they worked for the business and also one was wearing this sweatshirt (see attached). Times are tough, and businesses everywhere are doing whatever it takes to stay afloat. Unfortunately, this economic reality has apparently set in at Nektar, where they appear to be dead set on cutting costs, customers and product quality be damned. The images of food inside the store depict smootie bowls loaded with granola, nut butter, and other delicious, nutritious (and satiating) ingredients. But the reality was sadly nothing like what is being advertised. The employees were precisely measuring (rationing?) ingredients like Civil War cooks on the front lines -- and you sure could tell in the finished products (a protein bowl for me and an açaí peanut butter bowl for my wife). Though my bowl was "full," it was mostly frozen base -- not base and toppings. Maybe "Naked" would be a more apt name for Nektar, as it would accurately describe our experience. I have yet to try their frozen treat but will have to stop by to taste one of those. Wonderful juice bar with easy parking. This juice bar is located in an outdoor shopping center with Target, Hook, Presto Pasta, Mimi's and other good shops/eateries. The eatery is larger in size than other comparable establishments (think Jamba Juice and Robeks) with indoor and outdoor seating. The interior was bright and clean. The menu located above the counter displayed choices of smoothies, bowls, and juices. They also sell pre-made drinks and prepackaged snacks. Our visit was around noon and it was not crowded. We were able to order without wait but had to wait about 10 minutes for our smoothies to be prepared. We chose the Health Nut and Pink Flamingo smoothies, both in large and with added protein. Both were lite and delicious. Neither were overly sweet. I would've liked mine to be a touch thicker. Service was good. There was one single user, gender neutral restroom. Prices were relatively comparable to Jamba and Robek's. This is a great alternative to the bigger chains. read more

Stopped here after driving 5 hours from the bay! First thing that stood out was the amazing pricing- each 16oz was only ~$8??? unheard of.. most acai bowls go for $11-14. eating it in the 100 degree weather was amazing. we got the.. - banana berry - dragonfruit - acai mango they were super pretty and tasty! my one critique is that the base was pretty liquidy, but it might be due to the weather. Took a star off because the service was unimpressive. No one greeted us when we walked in; the workers came out and kind of stood there in silence. I've been wanting to try this place for some time now and I finally was able to this past Sunday. I have mixed feeling about this establishment for a couple reasons. So, I walk in on a Sunday morning and there were a few people sitting around. I walked to to the counter and a nice guy took my order. I informed him that it was my first time at there establishment and gave me ample of time to look at their menu and ask questions. When I finally decided on what to order they guy took my order and started to work on my order. So I thought he started on my order.... I placed order thru Yelp for delivery. I received errors messages. I called directly to place order for pick up over the phone. The man let me know that Yelp acts weird, he's not able to take orders over the phone and to download their app to place the order. So, I did that. Then, I receive an email from Yelp that my order was received. I call back to let the same man know to refund the initial delivery. He says their system does not allow a refund thru the app. I would have to physically be there to receive the refund or I can get a credit. Great location for this type of eatery (or should I say juicery?) They are right next to a major intersection and shopping mall. I had never had a Açaí bowl and thought I should try it here. The business is well kept, nice and clean. The employees are very nice and helpful, especially if you don't know what the heck you are ordering. The menu even lists the best options for first timers. I checked in on Yelp and received a free Ginger Shot. It was extremely bitter but made me feel cleansed afterward. I have been here on multiple occasions! It is a convenient place to stop by on my way home, especially if I am craving something healthy/cool on a nice warm day. I always enjoy the Açaíbowls from here (I tend to add more honey when I get home to make it slightly more sweet). Additionally, I appreciate their willingness to substitute the banana toppings with pineapple toppings on the specific Açaí bowl that I order. Also, they do a good job on preparing certain dishes/drinks taking into account whether or not someone has an allergy. For instance, my sister has specific allergies, so I appreciate the fact that when I order her something, they will do an "allergy prep" on her order; it gives me peace of mind. It is one of the newer places added to the Valencia area, since I have lived here and I feel it has been a great addition for us. The good: I was able to order ahead and pay online and just come to the store for pick-up. My order was ready right when they said it would be. I tried the peanut butter acai bowl from heir "regular bowls menu" for under $10. The base is blended acai, banana, dates, peanut butter, homemade cashew milk and pineapple. It was topped with banana, granola (hemp seed), agave and apple. You're able to customize all of the toppings as well for additional cost. It was absolutely delicious and I loved that it was served in a see-through container with plenty of space for the toppings (as opposed to having the toppings topple over the top of the bowl and have base dripping down the sides because it is overfilled). It was neatly and perfectly presented so it made it easy for me to eat during my car commute to work without making a mess. I liked that the base wasn't too sweet. The guy who works here is always friendly and greets you with a smile. The bad: There is no indoor nor outdoor seating (currently). I think they may have formerly had it but it isn't set up at this time. The interesting: Though LA County is open and doesn't require face masks anymore, this store does require face coverings.
