Sausages were some of the best I've ever had--juicy, fat and just enough sage flavor. One friend had the 2 egg special with home fries and toast, the other had an order of French toast. Came here on a Sunday morning and was seated in about 5-10 minutes. The restaurant was small and full of people but it was not too packed to the point where I felt like the tables were on top of each other. Our waitress was incredibly nice and the service was fast. We got the Nellie's Favorite Breakfast (with over easy eggs), a veggie omelet with spinach and 3 cinnamon swirl french toast slices. The corn beef hash in the Nellies was not dry and it mixed well with the over easy eggs and home fries. The veggie omelet was pretty good as well, the mushrooms were a bit too large. The french toast was thick and fluffy. I would highly recommend the french toast. I would absolutely come back here. Great breakfast place! read more

This is just a top breakfast place in the area. Inside is always fresh and clean with booths and tables. Service is quick and pleasant. The food choices are very good portions and at reasonable prices. Pancakes are some of the best on the south shore. Food could have been cooked slightly better as the hollandaise sauce was a bit thick and bright yellow but overall the food was good. Stopped in the Nellie Rose on my way back from the Cape - traveling along 495. Not just off the highway, but also not too far. Easy to find. Alicia was our server and she had to be one of the friendliest and attentive waitresses we have had in years. We just loved her! We couldn't decide on the muffin so she brought out some muffin bites - a sampling - for us to have. It was perfect. Ordered the Egg Benedict - cooked perfectly and the breakfast taco - a great take on this breakfast with fresh veggies and scrambled eggs served in a taco shell on taco serving dishes. I could tell at first glance the food was going to be better than most breakfast joints, So I cut into the poached egg an saw it was cooked perfectly. The portion size was huge, hash & hollandaise clearly from scratch and the home fries were crispy and brown. The waitress was really efficient and attentative. I'm very picky and this is probably the best breakfast I've had. I would say the hollandaise needed lemon and a bit more seasoning as did the hash and that's just a picky nuance because no one makes it like me lol. read more

Delicious breakfast! My husband and I came here on a Sunday morning. The place was very busy so we waited a bit a for a table. I ordered the "hungrys breakfast" with eggs over easy, chocolate chip pancakes, home fries, bacon, sausage, and cornbread. The pancakes are probably the biggest ones I've ever had!! Absolutely huge portion size. I also really loved the cornbread. It was very thick, warm, and delicious when slathered with butter. My eggs were cooked just right and the home fries were very flavorful too. My husband got a breakfast sandwich with a homemade onion bagel and he said the bagel was really good. He also got french toast that he really enjoyed. We liked this place. We'll likely be back at some point. I'd recommend giving it try! read more

Very clean, casual, nothing over the top but you will get a good simple meal (ie. pancakes, eggs Benedict, French toast, burgers, grilled chicken, Fried chicken tenders/sandwiches.) Stopped in for breakfast with the Family and so glad we chose this place. Immediately offered hot coffee, by 2 friendly waitresses. The food came out hot and quicker than I had expected. Hubby got Portuguese Benedict, said it was awesome. We also got the basic egg sandwich w delicious bacon on the side. Another got the breakfast tacos, big helpings with a special sauce they said was really good. The service was great, we didn't have to wait for them to return with extras someone was always there. My wife and I took my mother out for breakfast here last week and had a great experience. Staff was friendly and the restaurant was nice and clean. We ordered a pancake to all share and we ordered the Portuguese Egg's Benedict, Irish Benedict and a Nellie's Omelet. All tasted very good, though the Irish Benedict had slightly too much corned beef compared to everything else on the plate. I'd strongly suggest asking to have the onions and peppers included in your homefries (they don't add it in as is), truly elevates the dish. Went here on a whim with my boyfriend as the previous reviews looked very promising to a nice meal. Went in the back way as it was busy but still got to sit right away and the service was excellent. I went for the 2x2x2, which got me eggs, sausage, and a delicious grilled pistachio muffin. (Something I haven't had in a while so it was a treat.) My boyfriend went for the blacksmith's omelet and he opted for the hashbrowns and corn bread. His face said it all, he was ecstatic with the flavor and quality of the food. The price was good, the service top notch, and the food excellent. Trust me when I say I will be back, and will tell my friends all about this amazing diner. 10/10 will go again. read more

The Whitman location had been our go to since the opened, however post Covid, they seemed to have lost their way with quality and good service. The Middleboro location is still spot on, however (as of last summer) Whitman was simply a sorry experience. Truly hope they pull it back together. I will try them again. read more

Healthy energy in the bench and table diner, with chipper FOH staffers, a stacked bakery case, 85% occupancy of face-stuffing locals, and a right simple menu of $7-9 meals. Sharpen your pencil; there are two things you absolutely have to note: 1) The corned beef hash, and specifically, Nellie's Favorite Breakfast. 2) The flavored iced coffees - a South Shore staple - are unsweetened. The bananas and cinnamons and mochas and mints and peanut butters and roasted in, not pumped in a sugary syrup. Which means, my very first dabble in flavored iced coffee yielded a stellar Bananas Foster drank to wash down some of the finest corned beef hash I've ever tasted. Nothing complex: just huge chunks of tender corned beef, maybe a potato and a cut of onion here or there. But it's simply amazing. Nellie's Favorite Breakfast pairs this pleasure with two eggs any style, light, crispy hash browns and cornbread for $9. It. Is. Simply. Amazing. My husband and I went to this restaurant last week. We should have left as soon as we realized how cold it was in there but we didn't. I asked the waitress if she could turn up the heat. She stated she couldn't because the owner had a lock on it. Can you believe it?? It was so cold in there. To make matters worse, my corn bread was way over cooked.
