Gone way down hill! I come to the area every few years on business and going to Ashley's is something I always used to look forward too. This time was the compete opposite... The servers from a few years ago where fantastic! They asked my name and made me feel welcome especially being away from home. One waitress even remembered me when I went back a few years later.Even introduced me to other regulars... This time no one greeted me and was rude taking my order and never checked in on me.I went back a few days later figured maybe it was a bad day or there would be different servers, but got the same treatment. They where not busy one server was out front smoking and didn't wash her hands. Maybe because I was one person... I was going to recommend it to all my business partners but even they don't deserve that kind of treatment. The food was good but not worth being treated like that. I eat out a lot and have never been treated like that I've never even written a review. I guess good customer service and local diner where everyone knows your name... are a thing of the past! Best omelettes in the area even though they've gotten smaller and more expensive like everywhere else. Good omelettes but bad customer service. The Toast is always barely toasted or barely buttered and sometimes.both. They don't take specific directions or request. Whether you're dining in or doing take out, Ashley's is well worth the wait. I get my food and drinks delivered; by the time the food items arrive, it's still pretty warm. The original breakfast sandwich on a plain bagel with egg, cheese, and bacon is quite delicious. The home fries that come with it are seasoned to my liking. There's no holding back with the amount of bacon put on there which is nice...bacon is yummy and they cook it nice and crispy. Their California Eggs Benedict is my favorite because the avocado and hollandaise sauce pair well together. Definitely getting that again! I love a good chicken salad sandwich and omg, Ashley's has a very tasty one! I get it on occasion. I've never been disappointed. I didn't know for a while that they make crepes! I had their strawberry and nutella crepe once and I'll have to go back again for it because it's a large portion, the crepe is how it should be made, and I love that they don't hold back on toppings! I love a good French Toast order. I decided to try the Bavarian Stuffed French Toast...holy cow! I've never had theirs and I'm telling you, it's perfect. I like the crunch from the toast, the fruit and Bavarian cream to me might be my new dessert choice. Everything including the syrup harmonizes well. If you want an omelette, get one here. I have only had their steak and cheese omelette. Wow!! Flavorful and what a wonderful portion. It's held well together for a steak and cheese omelette. As for drinks, I have few favorites. Their mango iced tea has mango chunks in it...so yummy! I love love love passion fruit ever since I was a kid, and their passion fruit drink is satisfying and I believe fizzy which is a plus! The food is okay here. What really got to me was being presented with a check that assumed I was paying with a card and adding a charge for doing this. Been here a few times so far and enjoy this cute little breakfast place. (They do serve lunch as well). I like sitting at the breakfast bar and have not had to wait although it does get pretty full in there. Service is excellent. As soon as I walk in someone always tell me to sit where I want and asks what I want to drink. Now let me tell you one of my favorite things about this place. The huge coffee cups! Some diners give you these teeny weenie cups for your coffee. Not this place. Nice huge cups for your hot delicious coffee. This morning I ordered French toast, eggs Sunnyside up, home fries, bacon, sausage and raisin toast. I never wait long to order here either. The waitress are very attentive and so friendly. Now if you've read any of my reviews you know I'm kind of a home fries snob. These are great. Eggs cooked perfectly sunny side up. Buttered Raisin toast was excellent to dip into my yolks. Not the best bacon I've ever had ( I love thick cut crispy) but it was still good and the French toast was good as well. I was a little surprised when it came out as it wasn't fluffy like I was expecting but with the cinnamon and confectionary sugar it was tasty. I've also had pancakes here before and they were excellent. Didn't have to chase the waitress down for the bill. They put it in front of you. Oh, and on the way out I saw these incredible looking muffins for sale. I'll be getting one of those soon. I think there's a lot around the corner but street parking is easy out front. Blahhh. This place sucks first they did not have steak and other items on the menu so why not take them out of the menu?? I got the meatlovers omelette which was not good the bacon was old and you can taste the canned sausage. This is the place that made me fall in love with going out for breakfast!! I've been coming here since I was a teenager. The food, the decor and possibly the waitstaff remain the same after all these years. I always get the "big breakfast" which is a little bit of everything. Eggs over easy are cooked perfectly, bacon is thin and crispy, pancakes are large and fluffy, sausage is delicious and homes fries are some of the best I've ever had - so well seasoned and flavorful. Portion sizes are huge and prices are more than reasonable. You will leave here feeling full and satisfied without putting a dent in your wallet. Go check them out! read more

I was pretty happy here. Trying to support local during the pandemic, so I called in my breakfast sandwich. It was ready in 15 minutes and was delicious! The staff was wearing masks, they had outdoor seating and indoor seating looked to be appropriately spaced out. The staff was friendly even though she seemed to be the only person working. Wow. It is really hard to mess up breakfast food, but Ashley's does that exceptionally well. My son got chocolate chip pancakes with a side of bacon and I got the Greek omelette. There is so much on the menu. I really couldn't decide what to get but our server Jamie was so helpful. My best friend and I ended up getting the wine country French toast (fresh strawberries in a wine reduction filled with ricotta) and the bacado omelette. (Bacon, avo, and egg whites) The coffee is so fresh! My best friend tried their hot coffee and they served it in a giant mug. I got the iced coffee and even that comes in a ton of different flavors. I'll upload some of the flavors in pic. We are definitely coming back! The food was amazing and the service was phenomenal. I love the women who are working here because they're so friendly and real. The first time my husband and I walked in to have breakfast, it felt like a family. Just by observing, we can tell there was a good vibe there. Our waitress was down to earth and very quick and efficient. Since then, we've gone back, and she remembered where and how we sat and what we had. She should be a detective. This is a fairly narrowly-focused review, but it's my experience nonetheless. Bringing a child with a food allergy into a restaurant is meaningful to them, and necessary for their development. It makes them feel like they can do normal things, and teaches them how to manage their allergy when they inevitably find themselves at a restaurant. If you are serving food to the public, you should have a cursory understanding of food allergies. After a pleasant-enough interaction, the server at Ashley's told us she would not be able to serve anything (aside from fruit) to our child because she/the cook didn't want to be responsible for any possibility of an allergic reaction. While I understand their logic, it was easily-avoidable & a demoralizing outcome. It felt very much like they just didn't want to make the effort to accommodate us. I offered to help them read ingredients, and understand exactly what is & is not safe (very simple stuff). After a few back and forth conversations between her and the cook, we were told there was just nothing they would do to accommodate us. We were not asking them for anything complicated or out of the ordinary at all. In fact, what we were asking them to do didn't differ at all from what they would have done if I never mentioned the allergy. But mentioning it is important to everyone involved. We would've eaten, and been in and out of there in 20 minutes. Instead, we left there after 20 minutes with a sad kid, and out $17 for two juices and a coffee (and a tip - she still works hard). To Ashley's: You'd be surprised at how easy it is to get this right! It's really not as scary as you may think. I'm happy to help if you'd like to reach out. I would love nothing more than to revise this review and come in there often. Food allergies in kids are on the rise (dramatically), so it's something you're going to have to learn to be comfortable dealing with. If you make the effort, it means the world to people. Parents talk about where to go and where to avoid, and we spend a lot of money at the places that make the effort and know the basics. I'd suspect part of the reason you're in business is to provide a place where people can feel comfortable and enjoy themselves. You fell short. You're a staple in this community. Small mom and pop place. We went on a Saturday afternoon with no wait. I had the crab cake benedict. It was okay. Not bad at all but there were imitation crab in the cake.... i also had the banana nut french toast. The flavor was right but it did not taste like french toast. It tasted like a very try banana bread. SO per usual had like a breakfast sampler. With bacon sausage, eggs, toast and pancakes. It looked ok. I do have to say, their homesfries are better than most places. Tab was $38 including tips. I think we will probably come back if everywhere has a wait. Ashley's is located in the Braintree center. Although there is only street parking, we found a spot comfortably on Sunday morning. The restaurant is fairly small, service wasn't friendly and blasting AC made sitting inside uncomfortably cold. There're typical American breakfast items on the menu (all kinds off eggs meals, pancakes and breakfast sandwiches), portions are generous and food was good. read more

What a charming little gem this place is. They have a very large selection on the breakfast menu, and most all of the breakfast staples come in about a dozen different varieties, they don't just add "blueberries" or "Chocolate Chips" to the pancakes and that's the end of the choices. You can get "Boston Creme Pancakes" (which are amazing!) or "Caramel Apple Pancakes", as well as other creative specialties. And the same goes for French toast, the "Carrot Cake French Toast" is another champ. There's more types of omelettes on the menu than I've ever seen in my life. I enjoy a morning walk to local breakfast places. Ashley's is about 40 minutes walk from home. They have a sign for $4.99 breakfast sandwich and I decided to get the deal. Customers and staffs all know each other and it's a community there. The experience was enjoyable but my bill was not $4.99 for the sandwich. Somehow there was a miscommunication (although I did ask) and $4.99 is only for a bacon egg and cheese on English muffin. read more

The waitresses need to get some personalities. Every Sunday morning they look like they really don't want to be there. If you want cheese on your omelette it's an extra $1.50 charge. On top of the $14.99 you already pay for it. Coffee is $2.99. Juice is $3.50. The prices aren't cheap here. Seems every time we go the bill is more money. They invent ways to charge you more. Credit card? They round it up to charge more. Then if they torch your food it's basically an "oh well". Unless you order a piece of toast and two eggs, you're lucky to get out of here for under $50 bucks for mediocre breakfast. I'll go somewhere else where I'm not charged for a piece of cheese. read more

A solid 4.5 stars! Truly a great little breakfast joint with something for everyone. Perfectly cooked eggs dropped/poached made to order, and a phenomenal cup of coffee! Parking is on the street, and sometimes you may have to wait for a table but there is usually plenty of seating: tables, booths and at the counter. Always a good local crowd; kids d friendly. My first racist encounter happened here. I have been patronizing this establishment for over 2years, multiple times a week and I have tipped 80% of the time. I came in for a breakfast like I always do with my 9months old baby and paid with no tip because I didn't have any extra on me to give. One of the waitress (red hair) waited outside for me to tell me to take my business elsewhere because I did not drop a tip today. I spoke with the manager and he was nonchalant and did not seem to care either. I will certainly be taking my business elsewhere. I regret wasting my money in this establishment.
