Rob, our technician knocked on the door, introduced himself and we walked the property back to the location of our septic system. Why builders always place these systems way out back is beyond me. However, Rob jumped on the job, running hoses, and I mean a LOT of hose back to the tank and started the task. Did I mention it was a hot miserable day? Rob finished quickly and cleaned up PERFECTLY! Bay State Sewage is lucky to have a technician of Rob's ability and personality. A good man! One impressive comment I must make, Rob is the first pumpout driver to come onto the property and leave without burying those big dual wheels carrying a lot of weight into the soft spring grass. Not a trace. Rob is a guy who cares about what he does. Kudos! Additionally I need to give a shout out to the office personnel, specifically Caitlin, who had a negative response from our Credit Card. NOT HER FAULT, I forgot to give them a new replacement card number. At the end of a very busy day. Caitlin was patient and understanding in senior citizen memory issues. They showed up unannounced one morning to finish the grass as they installed the septic in early…read morewinter. They removed a rib from the septic cover dropping it down so it was flush with the ground, spread some seed and left. Thankfully we were here to water that night because it was sunny and HOT in the middle of last summer. We watered the rocky packed dirt twice daily (morning and night) for 3 weeks in hopes it would work out. I realized later after looking at the paperwork that the height on the cover was left because loam was supposed to be added before they seeded!!! They skipped this prior to seeding so my lawn is HORRIFIC. We watered and watered and then we seeded ourselves a second time to try to get more grass but it's too hard packed and the grass can't grow/hold in the dirt. I've asked them to come back (and was promised they would) to fill an area where a small pond shows up every time it rains in our front yard where they drove machinery to access the septic but didn't grade it flat when they left. I can't get them to come back for the pond they created so I'm not hopeful on the loam and re-seed. Do not recommend. :-(

Figuring the Septic System needed to be pumped (because I at least knew that was a thing), I began digging up my back patio that buries the septic cover to the system (I had a rough idea of where it was - I only missed it by about 5 feet to the left). I called Soares Sanitation Pumping on Monday morning to schedule maintenance, and they were at my house by Noon. Joe and John were awesome and they both gave me tons of valuable information to keep my Septic system running smoothly. Not only did they show me several things I didn't know about my septic system, but they also showed me what I should do if the system ever backs up, and how to prevent these sewer odors from entering my house in the future.
