The place is deceptively small from the street, but has quite a lot of room and a rooftop patio. My wife had a Hudson and some cucumber salad, and I ordered the monthly roast beef special and some tomato soup. Everything was excellent. I suspect there are no bad choices here. We're looking forward to going back next time we're ripping down I-35. The dogs are, too.

    Another stop on my Oklahoma Burger Passport took me to The Goose Sandwich Shop + Bar!…read more I met a good friend of mine for lunch, and this turned out to be a perfect spot. The menu board had plenty of options that caught my eye, but I knew the mission when I walked through the door -- BURGER! I ordered the Oklahoma Smashie, a double smash burger with two beef patties, American cheese, grilled onions, pickles and Goose Sauce. This was a very tasty burger! The patties had those crispy edges you want from a smash burger, the cheese was melted perfectly, and the pickles and sauce pulled everything together. For my side, I went with the cucumber salad. I really wanted to like this one, but unfortunately it was the slight disappointment of the meal. It wasn't bad, it just didn't hit the same level as that burger. The Goose describes itself as a dive bar and sandwich shop, but I actually found the place pretty interesting. It has that comfortable neighborhood-joint feel -- nothing fancy, just a cool place to sit down, grab some food and enjoy lunch with a friend. Service was also excellent. The person working the counter was friendly, answered all of our questions and offered some great suggestions without rushing us. Overall: 4 's from me. The Oklahoma Smashie definitely delivered, and looking at everything else on that menu, I've already got a few reasons to come back. This one is absolutely getting a return visit!

    Review #110 (The Perch)…read more Location: At Scissortail Park, 650 S Hudson Ave, OKC, OK 73109, on the west side off S Hudson Ave, by the boat rentals, and close to Social Capital. Hours: Everyday 10am-8pm, but close on some days, like on Tuesday, 19 Oct 2021, for seasonal holidays or breaks. Café: The Perch (TP) is a small, cafe type, concession stand food place overlooking the boat rental area of Scissortail Park Lake. There are ceiling fans, and it has the same type metal tables and chairs that are located around the food truck areas. TP also has views of the Omni Hotel and Scissortail Bridge. The Chef preparing the food is OK born Tra Coffey who worked at Picasso Café. Food: TP offers quick bites like sandwiches, wraps, ice cream bars from Wondervan, frozen lemonade, hummus, salsa, a salad, chips. TP has PB&J sandwiches and yogurt for the kids. Drinks: bottled water, Izze soda, Gatorade, La Croix, sodas and Starbucks energy drinks in cans. They offer Eôté Coffee drinks. Scissortail Park members get 10% off purchases. My experience: I bought a Turkey wrap which has smoked Turkey, sweet potato purée, and mixed greens on a spinach wrap. It was good but needed more sweet potato purée as it was a bit dry. I got the Izzy Sparking Blackberry soda which is like sparkling water with a hint of blackberry flavoring. My wrap came with chips, so I got the Miss Vickie's BBQ chips and they were good as well. It came with a small pickle in the to-go container they serve it in. That way you can take it to go if you want to take it to another area of the park to eat or take leftovers home. {Posted on Sat, 16 Oct 2021}

    A New #1 Burger in OKC!…read more Our Burger Passport adventure brought us to Spark at Scissortail Park, and I think I may have found my new favorite burger in Oklahoma City! This was our first visit, and from the moment we took our first bite, I couldn't stop telling my wife how incredible these burgers were. I ordered the BLC Burger topped with pimento cheese, bacon, a crispy cheddar crust, pickles, and Prairie Ranch. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the crispy cheddar crust took it over the top. Outstanding! My wife, Lori, ordered the Spark Burger, swapping the American cheese for cheddar. She absolutely loved it, especially the fresh dill pickles that added the perfect crunch and flavor. The crinkle-cut fries deserve a shout-out, too. They were cooked just the way I like them--nice and crispy. I ordered the signature Pink Sauce on the side, and the garlic aioli was excellent. Before we left, I asked to speak with a manager--not because there was a problem, but because I wanted to compliment the team. Marisol was genuinely excited to hear how much we enjoyed our meal. She also told us about their limited-time Chicken Salad Sandwich, available through the end of the summer, and after this experience, I think we'll definitely be back to give it a try. Spark checks every box for me: outstanding burgers, perfectly cooked fries, a fun atmosphere, and a friendly, welcoming staff. If you're looking for one of the best burgers in Oklahoma City, put Spark on your list. This one earns an easy 5 stars from me.

We also opted for a nearby restaurant or food trucks. Until we finally walked in and gave it a shot. Now I'm a little upset we took so long to do it! I got the Park Power Bowl - quinoa, sweet potatoes, avocado hummus, roasted chickpeas, candied jalapeños, almonds, and a little more. The candied jalapeños were the best part, but the whole bowl was amazing! And it was huge! I only at half and took the rest home. The kids got an uncrustable and the chicken bites and shared some fries - pretty standard, exactly what you expect. But my husband got a burger. For the life of me can't remember which one now, but he was so surprised with how good it was that he ordered a second to take home with us. I surprised the kids with a seasonal Lemon Pound Cake shake to share for dessert. I'm not a huge fan of milkshakes, but it was tempting to get a second just so I didn't have to share this with the kids! I don't know if it was the Lemon Pound Cake in there or if they secretly added some crack, but our straw was slurping the very bottom just from the time it left the counter and made it outside to the sidewalk walk. I will forever try any new food trucks that come around, but on days they aren't at scissor tail but I am, Spark will have my business now.
