I'm a fan of patty melts, but this one left me feeling underwhelmed. Patty melts typically use rye bread and a thin, almost smash burger patty to achieve that grilled cheese/hamburger crossover. However, this patty melt used sourdough bread, which I'm a fan of, but the bread-to-patty ratio was off. They used the same frozen 1/3-pound patties for every burger, resulting in a huge amount of bread, a frozen grilled patty, and every bite feeling greasy and dirty. (They say fresh daily patties... I'm not sure what that means, fresh cooked from frozen? Fresh frozen delivered? Fresh inspired...I just saw frozen pucks thrown on a grill so....) Perhaps my expectations were too high, but honestly, it's just a burger on thick sourdough labeled "Patty Melt." I wouldn't go back, but the location is cool, and there are other places to try, so there's probably something for everyone. read more

Hunting around OKC for a place to grab a quick bite and avoid the rush hour traffic and I stumbled upon this place. Kind of threw me through a loop when I realized it was located in what appeared to be like a dining hall. The food however, was fantastic. Got the patty melt which is recommended by staff. I just returned here after years since Parlor is outside of burger-driving-range from my house. The menu had changed a lot with plenty of new additions, which is awesome, but I was worried that the core burgers may have changed too. While some of the wording was different, I was able to order the exact same burger I fell in love with years ago and the flavor instantly sent me back to the first time I tried it. I ordered the MOB XL Burger Basket with Jalapenos, avocado, and loaded fries. The jalapenos here aren't just regular jalapenos. They are flavor country (also very hot). If you like spicy food, these are the best burger jalapenos in the city imo. My gf ordered the regular single with jalapenos and was annihilated by the spice. She's kind of a wimp when it comes to spice but she trucked through it because the flavors are so good. Long story short, this is still my fav burger in OKC (by a long shot). The fact that this place isn't always highly-rated in a state where people worship Whataburger and Braum's borders on absurdity. MOB is similar to Tucker's but better in every way. It absolutely annihilates S&B and the Garage in flavor. The only possible downside is if you want a tame burger, then sure this isn't the place for you. But if you are big into flavor, this place will take care of you better than your mama. Now that they have delivery options to my house, I will definitely experiment with the other menu items. Location: Some people may have a little difficulty finding this place because it's located in the Parlor, which is similar to the Railyard in Edmond that has multiple restaurants under one roof. The first time I came here I intended on ordering a burger but pivoted at the last second to their pulled pork sandwich. Their pulled pork is legitimately better than many (or maybe even most) BBQ restaurants in the area and their different types of loaded fries are downright delicious too. We were unfamiliar with MOB grill but desperately needed a place that was family friendly for our 2 year old and infant kiddo. The outdoor area of Parlor, where MOB is located, was perfect for that! We came to MOB after checking out the Tulips at Myriad. I got the original onion burger and it was divine. Perfectly cooked and seasoned and my toddler would agree the fries were outstanding. That seasoning, chefs kiss. Parlor's selection of beer/ciders/cocktails were on point too! I got the Blackberry cider from OK Cider Co. and I will now be looking everywhere for it because I want more. I feel that it's easy to create an exciting place where young, single people can gather but to create somewhere that a younger family can come for mom and dad to get a drink and feel safe, THAT's saying something. The only thing I liked was the cream soda from the gas station/ fast food soda machine. I paid $69 for the two burger baskets, fries, drowned cheesy tots and a club sandwich. Not worth the expense. Not worth the drive. I Wouldn't recommend. Tip: you order at a counter just like at a fast food restaurant and have to go pick up your food from the counter when it's ready and carry your own food to your mall food court table. I had the MOB Burger Basket because that burger doesn't need any accessories. 1/3 lb of fresh ground Angus Ribeye, mustard, American cheese, pickles, marinated grilled onions (who marinates grilled onions? they do!) on a La Baguette fresh baked bun and hand cut fries seasoned with MOB's house made bada-bing spice (it's not hot so you can handle it). The location of their restaurant is inside The Parlor so when you go look for signage it's not going to be large. Parking is free in a lot south of The Parlor on NE 6th. I understand that there is also a free lot to the North of The Parlor that is close to the venue & no street crossing. Went on a Wednesday around Noon. Not too busy. Place your order, pay for your food. I didn't actually make my order as I was a lunch guest so I can't tell you if they take your name or give you a number to pick up your order. Fountain drinks are order here as well. There is a "fountain" station on the East wall. There is also a full bar on the Northside of the space. You might consider hanging around the counter as I don't think they called our names, but put our orders on the counter saying the baskets names. So remember what you ordered. Maybe they did it that way because we were standing there. There are different size tables from 2 tops to 6 top or move tables together if you need more room. The burger was as great as I remember and that's saying something. My party got a Theta Burger basket and one got the XL Burger. The fries were good. Nothing like a hand cut fry. Yes, I went back. :) This time around I had the The Butcher Basket. Yes, it comes with fries. And I ordered an extra side of fries with it. Don't tell my cardiologist. The butcher burger comes with pulled pork on it and I was looking forward to the combination of pork and beef. There's something about the soft, sweet and smoky flavors of pulled pork that makes my mouth sing and my lips smile for miles. I've been a huge fan of MOB for well over 6 years - starting with following them around in their food truck to their latest spot at parlor. It was their classic onion burger and fries that drew me in and hooked me for life. If you've never been, MOB (Marcos Onion Burgers) is known for changing the game on the classic onion burger by introducing some real flavor. Starting with the blend of meats to their marinated onions (and jalapeños if you want a kick). They've been able to find the balance between tradition and flavor (not knocking the classic onion burger, but traditionally it's just meat and onions on a bun - with the finely shredded onions adding a lot to the texture and flavor with the way they are cooked into the meat on the flat top. Now that's a tasty greasy spoon cheeseburger. Simply made but with care..Soft bun, exceptionally juicy patty, lightly seasoned. Just oily enough to enhance flavor, made the wrapper shiny but no dripping or running. Only issues was sauteed onions are too few and their added flavor is minimal. I could barely even taste the marinade they brag about. They don't burn them into the patty here, which many including my husband say is not authentic. Still it's a very good burger. Especially with added pickle slices. Fries I didn't dig as much, too limp and overdone, tasted oily. Service is cordial enough.
