this place is more like a 3.5 out of 5 stars. We wanted to stop by and get something small to eat before dinner. We ended up getting 3 buns for 12 bucks?.... As for the buns, we ended up getting pork belly, honey sriracha chicken and the fried tofu. Out of the two, the pork and honey sriracha chicken were really good. In fact, the honey sriracha chicken was so good, i wouldn't mind getting 3 of them next time. As for the fried tofu, that's something i'd recommend skipping. Went here for a quick bite during my afternoon walk. The place was clean and not busy and service was nice. My food came out fast and piping hot! I got the pork belly bun, the honey siricha chicken with a side of their fries. The pork belly bun lacked flavor in my opinion but the chicken bun was delicious! It's designed to be quick, where you order at counter and they bring your food. Lady at the counter was curt and not very helpful. She couldn't bother to explain their menu nor recommend anything. Good thing I could look it up on Yelp real quick. But the food was great. The Vietnamese Eggroll was crispy with all the flavors. The Pork Belly Bun was soft with fresh cilantro and veggies was so tasty. Only the Bulgogi was a concern as it was ground beef and was just okay. They give you a lot of meat though, but we could've used an extra piece or two of lettuce. THE BLACK AND WHITE: This was a short walk (~7min) from where I was staying in OKC (Renaissance Bricktown). I did have trouble finding the restaurant as the signs said to walk through the building. The entrance to the restaurant is on the outside block, pointing towards W Main st and N Robinson Ave. The menu was pretty vast, however they're known for their banh mi's and steamed buns. I got the bbq chicken banh mi and it came out looking very nice. Flavors were there and chicken was marinated very nice. THE FINAL BAMBOO: A banh mi set me back $7. Pretty good pricing and vast menu. Update review on their orange chicken katsu special dish - it is amazingly delicious and the orange sauce flavor goes well with the chicken katsu which is served on a bed of white rice with seasoned cauliflower. They also give you the sauce separate so you can decide how sweet you want it. I also got a year of the snake red pouch with a free boba milk tea for the Lunar New Year. The location is located perfectly in downtown OKC. When you walk in, you can line up to order with an employee, or you can grab a seat and order through the QR code on the table. I've had their buns before, and they were delicious, so I wanted to try something new. I ordered a bulgogi patty melt... yes, you heard that right. A delicious fusion sandwich that was cheesy, sweet yet savory, and filled with tender bulgogi meat. The sandwich also had gochujang ketchup, and I never knew I needed it until now!! Acting on a recommendation from the staff at the Downtown Sheraton, we ventured over to Cafe de L'asie. It was a short walk from the hotel and located right off of Main Street. It was a late lunch for us so the cafe wasn't busy. They serve some Asian foods and the Char siu chicken banh mi caught my eye. I also ordered some togarashi fries which is shoestring fries seasoned with some spicy seasoning. I got a Diet Coke to wash it down. You place your order at the counter and grab a numbered placard to place on your table so the staff can bring your order over. The food came over in less than 10 minutes. First off, the banh mi's bun was toasted and was filled with a good amount of char siu chicken and the customary veggies. It was delicious as were the fries. It was a bit spicy but not overpowering. I was only able to finish half of the banh mi and took it and some of the fries to go for some late night eating. The interior is well lit and spacious and was also very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful in making suggestions for us. The prices were very reasonable as was most of the other items on their menu. The Cafe de L'asie is a very good place for a good meal and I highly recommend giving them a try. read more

It was well sauced and didn't need any extra however I ordered some just in case that came in handy with my pork belly bun! I would have loved to be able to add jalapeños to either of them but didn't see that as an option for the to go view. We just tried Cafe de L'asie for the first time this afternoon and already can't wait to come back. Their menu has a wide variety from buns, banh mi, rice bowls to pasta dishes, salads, and favorites like the bulgogi patty melt! We got a 3 bun bun'dle with two fried shrimp buns and one chicken char siu bun. I say the buns are a must!! The fried shrimp in the lemon truffle aioli was delicious, and they offer a shrimp po boy with the same contents for a meal, too. The fried shrimp were fresh, juicy, and fried to perfection. My partner actually preferred the chicken char siu bun (it was a tough call - both were soo good). The chicken char siu bun had the contents of a general banh mi with pickled carrots and cilantro and it all tasted so fresh. Will be back for more. We also ordered the beef bulgogi bowl to share, and between all the buns and the bowl, the two of us were full. The beef bulgogi bowl is equipped with tasty marinaded beef, kimchi, carrots, onions, a soft boiled egg, all tossed in a spicy gochujang sauce. This was a great entree and I would definitely get it again, but I'm excited to try everything else! I really love the atmosphere here, too. The chicken was cooked well, with an ample amount of flavor and I was also a big fan of the carrots and pickles onions. The rice bowl leftover is also just as good! I had it the next day for lunch and even decided to scoop with some tortilla chips and it was like this asian inspired rice dip- highly recommend I also HAD to go back and try the fries because they just looked too good to live without. I got the pork belly benedict and it was absolutely perfect. My boyfriend got the honey sriracha benedict and it was amazing too!
