Our family, with two picky children, had a fantastic meal! The steak street tacos were delicious. The meat was tender and plentiful. My husband enjoyed the chicken street tacos, and the kids wolfed down shredded beef tacos, a side of rice and a bean and cheese burrito. The red salsa is flavorful and hot. The two guys who work here are so sweet and friendly. I always get the wet bean and cheese with sour cream and guac and it's always consistently good. The carne asada and chicken tacos are also really good, but they are soo small so make sure to order more than 4. read more

~~As of Feb.'16 most of my food reviews will be from the perspective of someone eating gluten free.~~ Let me start out by saying that I haven't confirmed if they have any gluten free options (the food is so damn good that I just don't care and will eat their food even if it means feeling poorly for a few days). However, for the last twoish weeks we have eaten here regularly and I have yet to have any reaction. Granted, I have stuck with one meal that SHOULD be gluten free by default, but again, thus far I haven't had a reaction. I currently have a message into the food truck to find out what options there are, if any, so please confirm ingredients for yourself and eat responsibly. Now, onto the review! Each time we have gone I have gotten the same thing: Carnitas Street Tacos. Holy hell are these amazing! The portions sizes are plentiful and you are really getting your $2.00 worth. At each visit the onions have been nice and sweet, the cilantro fresh, and the lime ripe and juicy. This last time we went, it wasn't the usual lime/cilantro/onion topping. Instead, it was chopped tomato/onion/cilantro and it was amazing! Nearly every time the carnitas has been perfectly moist, fatty, crispy, and delectable. The flavor of the meat really comes through, but isn't overwhelmingly "porky" in flavor and it is balanced nicely by their choice in seasonings. The only time we had a problem was one late morning/early afternoon* and it wasn't the 'normal' guy (**Edited 2/16 - Found out his name is Pablo! He seems fantastically genuine and nice and always has a smile on his face!). The carnitas was overcooked, dry, and chewy, but the flavor was still very much there and it didn't keep me from going back. On that particular visit were asked what type of sauce/salsa we wanted and it came to us not ok. It was all water and unfortunately we didn't notice until we were already home with the food. We didn't use it as we lucked out and had some sauce left over from our previous trip but he flavor of it was just super spicy pinkish water. That has been the ONLY time it has been a problem. Their hot sauces are very much worth noting, too. We love the red sauce and it has such a beautifully complex flavor. It has some wonderful heat that kind of sneaks up on you but it's not so hot as to overpower the flavor of the food you're eating. I also love the fact that it doesn't seem smoked/blackened in any way (it's a common theme I've found in a lot of Mexican food prepared for American palates and I'm not a particular fan of that char/burned food flavor). I'm keeping the extras we get and using it in my own cooking (it's that good). Usually, salsas like these tend to be very watery in flavor but not this particular one! It's thick, without being chunky, but disperses nicely when dispensed. It's very obvious that passion, and care, go into the food prepared here. It shows in the quality of ingredients and the preparation of the food. Whoever is working the truck when we've gone has always been smiling and happy and very obviously enjoying what they're doing. Wow! Honestly wasn't expecting a whole lot from this little stand , but WOW it was GREAT! I wish I had taken a photo- the presentation, even in a to-go box, was very nice! But the taste was exceptional!! So fresh- I had fish tacos and nachos- it all tasted on the spot freshly prepared.... Delish! I guess the neighborhood would be my only aside, but even then two cute and clean red picnic tables ( covered) provided a safe feeling hide away! Portions were generous for the price and the service was fantastic! I loved my meal- will definitely visit again! read more

Honestly not sure what the hype is. Maybe it's just what we happened to order or perhaps I'm holding it to a higher standard than I should. The carnitas sopes were alright and the steak burrito was okay. The food is nothing special but at least it's cheap-ish and certainly better than other certain nearby taquerias. That being said, watch out for ticks. read more

Ohhhhh, what an awesome place!!! Adorable, warm and super cool owner/chef. We ordered the super tasty tamales and Nelson burrito. The fresh salsa was also fantastic but it is not for the weak mouth (translation: Cray level of hot). All the good was fresh and filling. Stopped by today because it was so beautiful outside and ended up with, by far, the BEST chili relleno I've ever had in Eugene! Plump and full of delicious, incredibly creamy cheese, not at all greasy, just pure heaven. It comes as a plate with rice, beans and chips and you certainly don't leave hungry! I tried this place for the first time the other night and got there right before close. I got the basic burrito with chicken for meat. It was delicious. The chicken was fantastic, and I am not sure if they make their own sour cream but it was so good. They were unfortunately out of beans so I did not get to try it. The burrito was huge and well worth what I paid. I will definitely eat here again and probably will everytime I am in the area. LOVE it read more

Tacovore what? I am all about this place! I went to tacovore one day and lightened my wallet by about 18 bucks, and at the end of it I was still hungry....That is when I happened upon this wonderful gem of a food cart. I got what I had expected I would get at tacovore for 5 bucks, but it only cost me 2.50. I literally could have made 8 tacovore tacos out of my 3 tacos I got here. First of all a general statement. I think this is the best Mexican food in Eugene springfield area. Service and cleanliness is always excellent. Everything ive eaten there is superb, as everything my friends have had came with rave reviews. Today i had a torta for the first time, and it was amazing. In particular, the chicken is best ive ever had. Most mexican places serve bland boiled chicken. Not here. Wonderfully seasoned and grilled, its certainly my favorite. Great value as well. read more

We have been eating weekly at our neighborhood food stand. Food is made fresh, they even make their own sauces. Nelson knows how to present your food so it not only is excellent but looks delicious too. They prepare really authentic meals, and to make it even better they are friendly, accommodating and reasonably priced. Try them you will be glad you did. read more

Poor service, bad food. I called in an admittedly large order of six carne asada, six chicken, and six carnitas tacos for a recent taco Tuesday (18 tacos total). They said it would be ready in 10-15 minutes. I arrived at 25 minutes and they hadn't even started. They took another 15 minutes to then make my order. A total of 40 minutes to get tacos. Then meanwhile a guy walks up and orders and gets his food quicker than I do. I would have just left but I had already paid and left a decent gratuity hoping for good service. Too late and eventually after getting the food I go home and try to eat it. My friend and I who have eaten at virtually every taco stand in town are excited to try the last one. The carne asada tacos would be good, but they are very oily and oddly smoky tasting, so we go onto the chicken tacos and they are also incredibly runny with oils and taste like smoke... we finally try the carnitas and they are oily oily oily and taste like smoke. I've never thrown away so many tacos before. We tried to force ourselves to eat it and couldn't. Money down the drain. I almost want to try them again hoping that was just a single episode in the story of this taco stand, but I can't bring myself to yet because I can still taste the tacos from last time and I just can't. read more
