My mom is 86 yrs old and needed physical therapy due to a hip and knee problem she can't walk without assistance of a Walker or has to be pushed in a wheelchair. I was referred to Neogen Care and they sent out the most compassionate, thoughtful kind gentlemen to my house, his name is Nishan. He was always on time, called a day ahead of time, and very patient and knowledgeable when it came to my Mom and any questions she or myself had. He worked with her with special exercises and encouraged her to do as much that she could to keep her mobile. He was a great joy to have, especially his patience, respect and kindness he had toward my mom, me and anyone else that was at my house at the time of his visits. Nurse Grace is such an awesome nurse, when she started coming over to treat my husband's feet and legs (it was bad) she took the time to clean and take care of the wound that was at the bottom of his feet, she brought his feet back to life, lol although she would joke around she's serious about us taking care of his legs once she's done. The level of professionalism that was displayed was most impressive and appreciated. The physical therapist assigned to my mother was AWESOME S.W. Went above and beyond. Her insight and personal care was welcomed. The supervisory team as well were professional and supportive. I had no issues being able to speak with my mom's treatment team. We did have a slight concern and immediately I was contacted by the supervisor and the matter was resolved. Neogen Home Health has been providing professional in-home nursing care to my husband Dan for the past month. The RN (Kimi Cortez) visits our home twice a week and provides competent care, compassion, respect, and overall helpfulness to ensure Dan's medical needs (including catheter care) are taken care of. She is responsive to our scheduling needs and most attentive to the medical supplies we must have. Kimi explained to me how to flush the catheter, showing me the steps slowly. Although Dan has had a catheter put in several times recently by Kaiser Urology, no one went over how to care for the device and flush it. Over the weekend Dan had a problem with his catheter draining and I called Neogen Care for advice. The nurse supervisor Muna Dissi helped me flush the catheter (using iPhone FaceTime) and followed up several times to ensure Dan was stable and the catheter was draining properly. Muna appreciated that Dan was in pain and was comforting and kind to him during the time we were on the phone call together. Overall my Neogen Care experience had many ups and downs. Starting off with several downs. Getting the process started was aggravating and took a great deal of advocacy to get started. I had nurses tell me they weren't sure if they would come that day since "they may have to help prepare for a New Years party". Another nurse calling me last minute showing up and almost inviting herself in my home with no badge nor stating her name/company. She then pulled random supplies out of her bag in an unsanitary manner and even admitted out loud she had not reviewed my chart and didn't know how to complete the orders regarding how to dress my wound. To make matters worse, she wrote my name in an unsecured spiral notebook (HIPPA BREACH!). Her work was so bad my husband had to fix my dressing after she left. It was exhausting trying to get a consistent person to our home to the point I tried to complain to the clinical director who didn't answer my phone call but then sent me an unprofessional text stating "I can't talk right now". Followed by now call back- What clinical director would do such a thing? I then spoke with operations manager, Maria, who was the beginning of the "ups" with Neogen. She was very professional, prompt and took my care seriously. Everything then changed for the better once ISH was the assigned nurse to my case. She was incredibly professional, kind and helpful. She deserves at least 5 stars and is the only reason I continued with Neogen. ISH was more skilled, professional and knowledgeable than any RN I met. Neogen would be best served to place her in a leadership position to improve their lack luster employees skill set and helping them provide comprehensive care. Unless you have ISH as your nurse I would not recommend this company. She's a true asset to the company and deserves great acknowledgement. If this were my company, I would finance the costs for ISH to receive her RN license. It would better their company by far. read more

Nurse Grace has been our HomeHealth Nurse for the past couple of months and we just love her! Her attentiveness, compassion, and love that she shows Gerald and Marie is amazing. She comes 2x a week. The admission nurse was good/ although she did not have material for wound care, had to use our own supply from a nurse friend who works for another agency. PT never called or reached out to do an evaluation on my dad. Such a shame Kaiser would allow this from a contracted agency. This isn't appropriate for Home Health service. Agency is from Northern California, admission information was irrelevant to Southern California patients. read more

Superior service. Everyone is very caring, knowledgeable and are advocates for their patient. I have had two nurses, as well as a physical therapist and a speech therapist for my mother. Each one contacts me ahead of time to make sure their timing is convenient. Also, each was careful to ask questions to ferret out all details, particularly inquiring of any changes since the prior appointment. Specifically, if there was any concern or question, they contacted the primary doctor right away. The nurses, Ish and Mindy, followed up in their off time/days off to advocate for my mother and check up with me to see how she was doing. Amazing care for my mother. What a breath of fresh air after my experience only a month before with a different Home Health company. They would show up without my knowledge (so I was not there). That company never once asked questions or followed up with the physician. I cannot say enough positive things about everyone at Neogen Care. read more

Cameron is giving her PT and she is now using her hands more and even feeding herself finger foods! Not good. Would not recommend and why are hospitals outsourcing services to places like this? Their nurses do not even show up or call more than half of the time they are scheduled to. The only plus side is the physical therapist we got, did their job was on time. They get the one star. Everything else should be negative star. Plus what's with the recent name change from NeoGen Care to NeoGen Life? That is just exactly the same as a shitty buffet restaurant changing their name but the inside is the same. Perhaps the administration at the Hayward office is better, but the Glendale, CA location is unprofessional, uncaring, and definitely disorganized. The experience we had with Neogen recently is something I would not wish upon anyone. The sad part is you are already dealing with caring for an elderly loved one who was hospitalized, and you shouldn't then have the extra stress of also having to deal with Neogen and their games. I am so sorry we were referred to Neogen and had no choice but to use them. Who knew they were going to be like this? I believe since 2017 i have only been compelled to review on yelp 5 times. There are few companies that ever meet my expectations much less exceed them. I have received in home health care for 6 months 7 days a week and have been cared for by Monica, Cynthia, Tracy and Mona. These medical providers are very special professionals, on top of all challenges that all nurses face these provide care in home and see 7,8, patients a day dealing with patients that are like me basically shut ins . I cant imagine having to deal with Los Angeles traffic during the monsoon yet they are on top of their game,always upbeat,friendly and punctual. If something comes up and they get behind on schedule there is always a call or text message to keep me informed . Imagine driving in the rain that we have experienced then find parking and lugging their medical bags and rain gear. They take and record vitals ,review doctor orders and communicate any change in patient to physician and always with a smile and words of encouragement . I recently had got involved in a bad motorcycle accident and as a result I ended up with 2 fractures in the right leg and hip along with 4 fractured ribs, after the surgery and a stay in a recovery center I was released to go home, and at such time I received in home Physical and occupational therapy from who I consider extremely professional, ( Neogen Care ) especially for sending 2 of the best Physical therapy coaches Bill and Mike to keep me focused on moving forward in the healing and rehabilitation process leading up to the outpatient part of the continuing Physical therapy so I can get back to work safely ! Once again I am very pleased with my 2 therapy coaches Bill and Mike who are extremely Inspiring and motivating !!! read more

Very disappointing! This place is so unprofessional. From the first point of contact over the phone to the actual Physical Therapist. The receptionist left voicemails on my phone multiple times that recorded actual private comments before they realized they reached a recording. Then they forgot who they were calling, they would say they were confirming an appointment that didn't actually exist, and once they said the physical therapist was on his way when we were never actually even able to schedule an appointment with a live person. We tried to but we couldn't sync up with the ordered Physical Therapist. He was rude on the phone, very unorganized and not the least bit accommodating. This was a time sensitive order for my 83 year old mother. I requested to speak to a supervisor but never received a call back! Don't trust your loved ones with these folks. read more

The only reason I gave 5 stars is all because of Ish. She was absolutely instrumental in helping my mom to recover the foot sore which has gone on for over 10 months. Ish would go beyond what she is expected to do in taking care of the patient. In my mom's foot sore situation, Ish would take her time in cleaning the sore, replacing the dressing, and patiently explaining what we need to do in keeping the pressure off the sore. Ish is dependable and will always show up on time and would not be no-show at all unlike some other nurses. She would even follow up with us after each doctor visit so that she could keep herself aware of the doctor assessment of the sore and she would take the necessary steps addressing the doctor's recommendation. In short, Ish deserves a 5 starts for her caring service! read more

Can't say enough great things about the staff with Neogen honestly! My mom is 84 & was in the hospital for 2 weeks. She was given Home Health care due to recovering from a blood infection, being weak, a skin wound (skin tear), loss of some mobility while laying in a hospital bed for two weeks and much needed shower assistance. First day home my mom met her lovely nurse Tamar. She was truly an Angel looking after my mom. Unfortunately my mom had to re-admitted the same day she met Tamar. During her assessment with my mom, Tamar noticed my moms blood pressure was dangerously low. Tamar stayed with my mom for quite some time, until the fire department showed up and she was loaded up in the ambulance. She refused to leave my moms side until she was transported to the hospital. Tamar is so caring and compassionate with her patients and it's just so natural with her! Once my mom was back home AGAIN there was Tamar!! She was so caring, gentle with my mom and very professional. With every visit during the Home Health Care, Tamar took her time with my mom to answer any questions she had and to this day she will check to see how my mom is doing from time to time. I've never heard of a nurse going above and beyond like Tamar did. My mom also had Tarak who did my moms PT assessment and he was wonderful. Chris did OT with my mom and he was so kind and patient with my mom. Ivan was great too! Erika who was my moms shower assist was such a sweet gal who handled my mom gently and treated her with such respect. My mom misses every one of them. They all played an important role with my moms recovery, both mentally and physically. I cannot say enough good things about all of them, truly! Anyone who is fortunate enough to obtain their services will not be disappointed. They are all amazing! Our family wishes them all the best in their careers! read more

I'm glad that Kaiser found Neogen Care and I can't be thankful enough to Kaiser. My grandmom had many home Health's prior before neogen care , but this company is the one that impressed our family. We got an initial call from them explaining about their services and I had the nurse come the very next day to my house. She was very knowledgeable and gave us enough informative material about the company. The rest of the staff that came were very professional and did everything they could to get my grandmom better. They did follow up calls after my mom was discharged to talk about our experiences and if they could improve on anything. I must start off by saying that the NEOGEN team that has come to care for my father has far exceeded my expectations and has made his transition from hospital to home following his stroke much more manageable and less stressful. To start Levi his RN has been really great at communicating and transparency providing great care and coordinating my father's care. His nurse ISH, my goodness I don't know where to begin but say that she is OUTSTANDING!! It shows that this is not just her career but she really CARES and delivers the care that everyone should receive. From diagnosing new ailments to being on top of ordering and receiving medical supplies, she really has been a god-sent to us! My father presented with several bed sores after a week with us as he's primarily bed ridden and she really has helped with his wound care and taught us how to better care for him as well. The empathy and understanding we received from his physical therapist Raven who was such a joy to be around and the time and work put in with his speech therapist Mike have all contributed to my father's well being. Angelica, his home health aide has also been such a wonderful and caring person and has been on top of ensuring my father's well being. She too has gone above and beyond proving exceptional care to my father and it shows that she CARES! You can tell this team cares from the heart given the people working for them. The team have all been super efficient and on time and are great at communicating via calls or texts as well. As a side note, only one person, his occupational therapist did not come to see my dad past his initial assessment but while speaking to the rest of the team, they confirmed he missed several appts but were able to assign a new OT, her name is Marjorie, to my father and so far she's been great! Keep up the amazing work you all do! It means so much and is so greatly appreciated. All home health care should carry this same standard and be like the care we are receiving from Neogen! I would like to thank Neogen Care for their assistance with my father. Times are tough for him right now and nurse R that has checked on his recovery was very gentle with his care. He also coordinated to get him rehabilitative therapy and an Aide to help with his bath. The nurse would follow up to make sure all other services were going great. Your patience when dealing with his current situation is greatly appreciated. We are grateful for all you did on his behalf for a speedy recovery. So far I am completely unimpressed. My mom was referred for home health care over a week ago by her doctor at Kaiser. Kaiser contracted her care out to NEOGEN. I was initially contacted quickly to say that therapists would be calling to schedule her sessions. I heard nothing. I called to ask for her therapies to be scheduled but apparently the therapists make their own schedules. But was told that the request would go in right away. I finally heard from a nurse the next day who came out within the hour. I finally thought things would start moving now. That was Saturday and it's now Wednesday, still no word. I called both Tuesday and this morning again and have been told that therapists would be assigned and will call me. I am beyond upset. My mom has been without care for a week and a half. She is declining. If you are referred here, I would beg to be referred elsewhere read more

We were told that we would receive services within 48 hrs. The PT came mid week (almost a week after arriving in NorCal). The OT came the following week, sub contracted from the subcontractor - she's great). WE STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED SPEECH THERAPY for a client with Aphasia and Apraxia. Disappointed is an understatement. We were also referred a Medical Social Worker and we've not even been updated on that. read more

Let me start with this... If it was not for Ish and Levi who both work for this company, my mom would not be with me today. My mom and dad both in there 80's were in the hospital with the flu. My mom was realeased too early and was failing fast, Ish and levi worked very hard to get in contact with any doctor that would help. They made it possible for my mom not to have to go back to the ER where she had been five times she was very weak and was only 81 lbs. She had a cough lost her taste buds and could not get out of bed. She has congestive heart failure and copd her blood pressure was very low. The doctor on call gave my mom antibiotics and predisone over the phone which totally knocked her out. But with the constant comunication with Ish and Levi and visits everyother day my mom has recovered and is getting stronger everyday! They fought for care for my mom with Kiaser which is not a easy task with many phone call to doctors and they never let up. Unfortunately Kiaser provided care for my dad in a board and care, same symptoms i could not do both alone i put trust in the system with my dad having nurses come to him. Thirty days from the day he got the flu i lost him. This has been one of the hardest times of my life and I am so thankful I had Ish and Levi help me navigate this very difficult process. Thank you! My elderly mom's nurse Ish: ONE MILLION STARS. My mom talks about her all week long, always Is Ish coming today? is Ish coming today? and most of the people have been incredible and some of the experience has not been incredible at all. it's felt very much like the left-hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing and I feel like I've had to do a lot of the organizing work that a patient would not be able to do if they didn't have an child/partner/assistant like me here. But the practitioners are Mostly incredibly talented caring brilliant individuals but because of the heavy caseload they're sometimes scattered, miss appointments, show up over an hour late, don't come at all, reschedule several times, schedule appointments at really awkward times like in the late evening (my mom is 85) or in the super early morning, 6 AM was literally suggested to me as an appointment time. And that's just not OK. So I have some mixed feelings about this, But it's not because of the practitioners don't care deeply about the clients, they absolutely do!!! read more

When Kaiser's own home health program is unable to meet the demand and provide services to its patients, your case will be redirected to one of the other home health agencies that Kaiser has contracted with to provide services to its members. NEOGEN CARE is one of those contracted agencies. NEOGEN CARE's website has many flaws. Most the pages don't exist. Unlike Kaiser home health and other home health providers I have interacted with where the team assigned to your care work together to coordinate your care and the RN takes lead, the NEOGEN team is comprised by per diem employees that don't know one another at all. They don't work together to coordinate the patient's care. While the staff were professional, the company didn't issue them name badges to wear. Doctor's orders were not followed. Once discharged, we still received calls from team members trying to schedule a visit. If Kaiser attempts to send you to NEOGEN CARE for home health, ask to be directed to a different agency. read more
