    Matcha latte
    Claire B.

I stopped by Neon Cowboy on a random afternoon and I am glad I did. Although I did not get a picture of the layout, i liked how the space was set up. I got a matcha latte that was pretty good. I also saw on their menu that they had options to order alcohol which you do not see in a lot of café menus which I think is unique. Looking forward to checking them out again.

First time trying their Avo Toast. Their version is crunchy sourdough with smashed avocado, prosciutto, cherry tomatoes, arugula and feta cheese. Nice and satisfying. I added a hazelnut latte and an additional drip coffee. They brought it to my table. They got busier while there. I noticed reduced summer hours, 7am-3pm with happy hour from 1pm-3pm. The menu prices have not increased.

I have to say this place hit all of my requirements for a quality coffee shop. The barista was incredibly friendly and helped me figure out the perfect breakfast. The coffee was very good and they make all their own syrups. The breakfast was delicious, flavorful, and hot. It felt great in there, they have the temperature set just right. The music was really good. I genuinely cannot wait to come back to this coffee shop soon!

My family and I visited while we were in town. We brought our friend over for a quick coffee stop before she went to work. We ordered coffee and some pastries. It was a great time with lively decor and opportunity to play games, we played Connect 4 with our child while finishing our lattes, breakfast sandwiches and pastries. The barista was super kind, he even accommodated my friends metal allergy by getting her water from the back, we'll definitely stop by again when we visit.

Chef Michael setting up buffet catering at our wedding!

Omg I cannot say enough amazing things about Chef Mike, staff and Neon Cowboy! We hired Chef Mike to cater our backyard wedding! The food was amazing! He worked with us to develop a personalized menu. I am a vegetarian, my husband eats meat, and our families have some picky eaters... but everyone enjoyed the food! Chef Mike took all of our needs into consideration as he was developing the menu! His communication the week leading up to our wedding and day of were spot on! He helped to make the day stress free!! After our dinner, we hosted a private reception/After Party at Neon Cowboy! It was such a great space for that type of event! Staff (Sara, Hannah and Wyatt) were GREAT! Our guests had such a good time! We also had finger foods - empanadas, hamburger sliders, and chips! So yummy! I would definitely recommend working with Chef Mike for a catered event, renting Neon Cowboy for a private event or stopping by Neon Cowboy during the day for a coffee and breakfast sandwich! I am so grateful Neon Cowboy opened in our neighborhood and that I have been able to get to know Chef Mike and staff!! Thank you so much for making our day special!

I've been wanting to check this place out since I saw the signage. The molecule effect was cool and I had several working meetings here over the years, so I'm glad to see another coffee/drinks/small bites place taking its place. We were greeted immediately as we stepped in. We both ordered the sando, although I feel like sando was a misnomer? I was definitely expecting something a little different. It was tasty, we especially liked the green herb sauce on it. Would like to come back here to try the coffee! The vibes were nice. It was decently busy for a Thursday morning.

No longer coming soon- Neon Cowboy has arrived! Located on the corner of Logan and Alameda, Neon Cowboy commits to its theme. Perfectly decorated, you can sit at a table or at the bar. Highly recommend those bar chairs! Very comfy and extremely unique. Coffee or cocktail- it's your choice. The Ginger Margarita made for a perfect afternoon cocktail. Service was great and the employees were so friendly and fun. They made the whole experience great. The parking situation, though. Very limited parking in the 8 space parking lot, and if you've been on this side of town, street parking is a nightmare. Definitely worth a visit despite the parking. See you soon, Neon Cowboy!

A fun hidden gem in Speer! I went for coffee, but want to come back for happy hour drinks! The atmosphere is sooo cowboy which is fun! I easily worked here and found a new favorite spot! The chai latte was delicious. Can't wait to go back here again!

Immediately upon walking in, the blend of western & modern design gives such a fun vibe. You'll then be greeted by a warm ray of sunshine in the form of the owner, Mike. We ordered lattes, drip coffees, breakfast burritos, and a breakfast sandwich; very happy with all of them. The brioche bun on the sandwich was especially delectable & flaky. They also function at night as a cocktail bar; looking forward to trying that out too!

Neon Cowboy is a coffee/cocktail shop that recently opened in the Wash Park West area on the corner of Logan and Alameda. This busy area can be difficult to find parking, but Neon Cowboy is worth it. Coffee and Creative cocktails are served alongside pastries and light bites with a Southwestern flair. The staff is friendly and laid back, sitting next to customers and enjoying the fare of the business when it is their break, so you know it is good. The decor is a mix of cowboy nostalgia yet chic, and the barstools are THE most comfortable I have ever had the pleasure to sit on. Their version of a Ranch Water went down dangerously easy--Suerta Blanco tequila, fresh lime, and High Noon Lime seltzer.

They also have a great patio set up, with live fires that you can sit around. The service was great, we were greeted almost instantly, and the waiter made recommendations on his favorite drinks, I got the coco coffee cocktail, which is very popular according to the staff. It was a little too creamy for me, so not my favorite, but was tasty and elegant nonetheless. I also got the Elote dip, it was also good, but nothing spectacular. Beef tartare was close behind, finely diced and well-seasoned. The guacamole was fresh and chunky, the prawns had a nice char, and the Amarillo ceviche brought a bright, citrusy heat from the aji amarillo peppers that balanced beautifully against the cool, tender fish. But the real highlight of the night was the steaks. My skirt steak was cooked perfectly, well-charred outside and tender inside, paired with the potatoes three ways, crispy, creamy, and roasted, each with its own texture and seasoning. Even better was the tomahawk ribeye, flambéed tableside in mezcal, a great bit of theater with a smoky, slightly sweet flame that infused the meat. I got lucky enough to try a bite. Rich, buttery, and delicious with heavy rosemary. A real treat. Service was a bit spotty for our group. Nicely cooked and reasonably tender for skirt steak. Considering the only other US location is in California, I was surprised and knew this would be my opportunity to try it! The aesthetic is modern & elevated with Japanese wooden features. I got 3 classic dishes which was just the right amount of food. I honestly recommend coming with a group to try more items since you know everything will be delicious. The Yellowtail Jalapeño is a signature dish; the yellowtail was delicate & buttery and the citrus soy with the bight of jalapeño made each bite clean, bright, with some subtle heat. I did not expect the Rock Shrimp Tempura to be that good! The shrimp was lightly battered & fried but the sauces were the highlights! Their creamy spicy is a very well-done spicy mayo but the butter ponzu was unreal! Super addictive, rich, and unlike any sauce I've had before. Shout out to my waitress for suggesting getting both sauces on the side rather than lathered on the shrimp, which also kept it crispy. Last but certainly not least is the famous Black Cod! The fish is super buttery and flaky; there were some caramelized edges from the miso glaze which added so much depth & richness to the bite. It's a good balance of sweetness, savoriness, umami that is bound to be good. All in all, so grateful I got to try what many call an institution and will certainly try more of chef Nobu's restaurants.

Some of courses were delicious and some were mediocre. We spent almost $700 for a party of four. The situation that needs the most improvement was the pace of the meal. The courses were separated by a 20-30-minute wait time. Considering that the courses were very small and contained 5-6 pieces for a party of four... that equates to a little more than a small bite every 20-30 minutes. The dinner took 2.5 hours to develop, and we were honestly still hungry by the end. The waiter started asking us if were "still hungry" at about the fifth courses. By the end, we felt awkward in asking for more. The wagyu beef was particularly disappointing as the beef was somewhat chewy, lacking taste and small. Waiters seemed to be near their capacity of workload. Didn't really take the time to serve, walk you thru the menus, keep the service moving or even gauge your level of satisfaction. We ordered dessert to celebrate the birthday. Apart from a small chocolate plaque on the dessert that said, "happy birthday", there was no attempt to celebrate the occasion as other less exclusive restaurants do... no "happy birthday" wish, no courtesy dessert... nothing special. The best part of this meal was by far, the young couple that accompanied us. Friendly advice: if you want to impress a client with something the feels exclusive... this may be the place. If you are looking for amazing food, being pampered and feeling your money was "well spent", try another place. I don't plan to visit this restaurant soon.
