Five of the seven screens' frames were bent from Ace installing the replacement screens. After a discussion with the store manager, he wanted to see if the screens frames could be straightened. I agree with this option to rework the five screens in question. I picked up the screens, and three of the five screen frames were still too bent to be used. The Ace Hardware store manager came to my home to see if he could install them. The store manager tried to install them, but the three reworked screens still had frames too bent to be installed. The store manager took the three screens back to try to rework them. I tried to install the three reworked screens, but two of the three reworked screen frames were still too bent. I asked the store manager to pay for the two screens that Ace Hardware tried three times to rescreen. The replacement cost was $160.00. The store manager refused to compensate me for the poor workmanship at Ace Hardware of Wautoma.

When this was brought to the owner's attention, his response was: "The shelf price was from last July. The price is higher now, we just haven't printed new tags." Apparently the entire store could be rearranged, but pricing can't be updated. Regardless of the reasoning, he refused to honor the listed shelf price and simply said, "It happens, it's not our fault." Actually, it is your fault . If you own and operate a business, accurate pricing falls on you. Customers should not have to double-check whether shelf prices are correct every time they shop. We ended up returning the item and bought the exact same part at the local auto parts store for significantly less. Just a heads up for anyone shopping there: pay attention to what rings up at checkout.

we visited this store on 8/9/21, at first we thought what a cool store. then after listening to the…read moreemployees behind the gun counter and speaking with them, we thought different! a group of unprofessional rude unfriendly guys. we went back with the intentions of buying a shotgun, which we thought was a fair price, the sales person did everything he could to talk me out of the gun, in fact the info he gave me was WRONG, to be honest I knew more about the gun than he did. as a retired hardware store manager and service manager, i can't imagine the sales these people are passing up. maybe their happy with their numbers and don't need better sales numbers. i would put them all on commission pay, i'm sure their attitudes would change, or they would move on. very poor employees.

I try to stop in whenever I get to Wautoma, as I think it is really crucial to the health and character of small towns that this type of business (historic building, locally owned, carefully stocked, excellent customer service) not only survive, but thrive. Despite the relatively small (compared to big box stores) footprint, I have always found what I have needed here, whether it be stovepipe, coolers, shovels, fishing gear, etc. This place has a really good feel to it. Although there is no parking on Main Street (Highway 21), there is parking next to the building, as well as in a lot just to the east, across the street.

Today I went to return a part that I…read morepurchased in Berlin at Ace I kindly asked the Lady can I return this here in Ripon as I live in north of Berlin but work in Ripon and it was the wrong part. Her reply "yes as long as we have carried it or it is in our inventory". Long story short she calls a gentlemen up he scans it sees it is in inventory but moved to some zone. Another guy walks behind him and the guy asks if he can except this return. The Gentle man replied "No she has to return to Berlin we dont want that here and are not going to carry that part anymore" Even though The lady stated it was in inventory. After I got told you need to go to Berlin. I wanted to ask about the sign behind the counter. That's states "no hassle no worries a receipt is guaranteed " I guess my point is I wasn't happy with my service today and don't advertise that when you are not going to go by it. Buyers beware if you need to return something. Especially when I believe it is the same owner of both stores
