I had been wanting to try this place for a while after seeing all the great reviews. When I got there I found parking to be a bit of a problem, but got really lucky and found a spot fairly quickly. The line to order wasn't too bad, it was a little longer than I would have liked but it went by quickly and for a great burger it's to be expected! I ordered the Nessy burger, fries, and a can of Dr. Pepper, the total was $14. A bit pricey for a burger and fries but then again the portions are HUGE. The burger itself was nothing special to me. The patty was a bit bland. I saw someone else had said it reminded them of the taste of meatloaf and I kind of agree. The lettuce, tomato, and onion all seemed very fresh which made me really happy. All in all it was a good burger, but I probably won't be back. While I still prefer my in n out burger over Nessy Burgers, I still say try this place for yourself and you decide! It may not be my favorite burger but it seems like many other people LOVE this place! read more

Nessy Burgers is a local hometown place where people feel welcome. The food here is always good. I especially enjoy their breakfast sammies. They are made with fresh ingredients and always hot and delicious. The portion sizes are very generous and the burgers here are over the top yummy. This is a popular trucker stop. I've known about Nessy Burgers for over 10 years. I've always heard great things about. But I had never been. That is, until now. It certainly lived up to its reputation. This is easily one of the best burgers in San Diego County. It's a big, 1/2 pound burger. The hand formed Patty is cooked on a flat top when you order it. The sponge bun is toasted to perfection and is just the right amount of bread. It contains the burger, American cheese, fresh leaf lettuce, tomato slices, and onion slices. Yep, the bread contains these veggies, but nothing detracts from the burger. If you must have condiments with the burger, you'll have to ask for the packets. However, I thought mine was fantastically delicious without any mustard or ketchup. A truly great burger. read more

Holy crap!!! This place is amazing!!!! We were driving to our mini getaway for Father's Day today and my husband was starving for a good burger so I yelped this place and we thought "why not"? Well....we are thrilled we decided to try it!! Pulled up, and he place was packed. Well, well, well. Good old "Nessy's Burgers." Everyone knows about this place. Great burger. Awesome food all around. I use to go to this place with my kids when the place was off the 76. Now my kids are grown and away from the nest on their own. Yahoo... My sweetie and I were looking at a new housing development in the area and we ran back into good ole Nessy's so we stopped to get a burger. Nothing has changed. Same great, awesome burger I remember. The food hasn't changed and I will always be a customer for life, but wait. What's up with all the flies? I'm getting older now but I don't remember having to deal with so many flies. I took a snapshot of my meal but I had to do it quickly because the "Fallbrook flies" we're trying to jack my food. I would think you could do something to help the customers enjoy this great burger your establishment provides. Next time I go, I will bring a friend that can fan the flies while I eat then we will switch places and I will fan the flies while they eat. Maybe a fan could be installed to prevent the flies from getting on your food. Maybe you could use fly traps to catch the flies. I would think the establishment could do something. Maybe it's just me. Being the brotha I am, I really don't want to have flies buzzing around me so I can look like that kid in a "CARE" commercial with that one fly on his forehead that won't move no matter what you do. wow, you wouldn't believe how long I've been wanting to come here and how many times ive tried. I couldn't find it, I kept trying to exit hwy 395 and look for it. I finally found it and glad we did. Now I expected this to be some plain type burger that you can find at all those generic fast food burger places that everybody opens with 100's of items on the menu. This is not that. This is a little shack on the side of the road. I ordered the breakfast burger, it comes with 2 eggs and I love eggs on my burgers. My wife got the nessy burger, both are big burgers. I am craving the burger right now as I type this. Go to the grocery store, buy some cheap ground beef, some Kraft singles, some iceburg lettuce and some sponge buns. Then, go over to the frozen food aisle and get some generic crinkle fries. Go home, cook it all up (make sure to leave the patty on the grill for just a little too long) and go sit by a trash can that's got flies and bees all over it. Little bit of a line, but it moved quickly and the total time from arriving to leaving with our to-go order was about 15 minutes. Ordered two Nessy Burgers, fries and a soda. Was about $16. The burger was HUGE and came with everything. The meat appeared to be hand-shaped and was done perfectly, and it had a big slice of tomato, onion and cheese along with a sauce. The bun was fresh (and huge like the patty). The fries were the crinkle-cut type, fried crispy so they crunch when you bite 'em, lightly salted and hotter than heck. Perfect! So, we decided to give this place another try despite me saying after the first visit that I would not go back. I had sworn off the chicken sandwich that I had last time and decided to try a burger ( my husband had a burger last time). Maybe it was fluke before and so let's give it another go. There is some sort of storage unit type thing behind their main serving/cooking area ( which is a portable) and I seriously hope that is not where the food is stored? Yikes. My wife and I finally went to this place to see what the hype is all about. For years, we've been avoiding this place since it is located between home and work but after reading all the positive reviews on Yelp, we decided to give it a try. We've had great burgers everywhere from high end restaurants, fast food burger chains, etc. and this one falls in between and that's not a bad thing. First of all, the burger itself is big but not that big like most people say. I guess it depends on the person and what kind of appetite they have. I have to admit though that you can taste the freshness of the meat. The crinkle cut fries is also good and they give you a lot of it. It is cooked perfectly crisp on the outside and moist in the inside. I had mine plain but dipped in their own 1000 island dressing, it becomes oh so yummy. But I think it could use a little bit of salt since they don't sprinkle any after coming out of the fryer. Lastly, what makes this place special not only for the minimal/simple menu and good quality food they offer, the ambiance of this place. The place is nestled near a gas station right off the freeway far from everything. It's a little shack with three tables for sharing. The price is also decent. We will definitely go back next time. There is something so satisfying about a Nessy Burger. From Umami Burger to Slater's 50/50 and every small hole in the wall I pass by, I've eaten a lot of hamburgers. Many have great burgers, but Nessy is my drug of choice. They don't have a lot of options (no you can't have kale and bean curd as a topping) , but what they've got taste great. Nothing super special about Nessy; they only survive because it is the only decent thing to eat within a 10 mile radius of everywhere and it is right off the highway. Haven't had Nessy Burgers for a while so decided to check them out again. I always hear how amazing they are but was never super impressed. I figured that maybe the two times I had been previously they were just off their game or something. Well, once again I was not excited by the burger. It wasn't bad or anything, just not as amazing as people claim. If you were on a long drive and stopped to get gas and got a burger before hitting the road again maybe it could be amazing but other than that they are just average. The burger is a pretty good size so it is maybe worth the price. Well that day came yesterday and it was one of two firsts in one day for me. The Nessy burger I had was so juicy and simple, no mess and full of flavor. The fries were so yummy cooked to perfection, when you bite into them its nice and crispy on the outside and that potato soft inside..........makes my mouth water!
