My senior friends numbering 8 to 12 members play mahjongg at Community House and have been coming…read morehere for years. This year we have been asked to move to the foyer or to whatever room may be available as they rely on rentals for these rooms. We agreed and we have been playing where they tell us to go. We pay $2.00 and now are asked to sign in and pay the fee. Additionally, we always were given water and coffee, and are now told that would no longer receive free water or coffee. When several of our members complained about this, a call was made to one of our members that we were rude to their staff, and they are not going to put up with this. I believe The Community House is ignoring the elderly in their community and are actually forcing us out of this venue in favor of younger members. Why else deprive us of free water.

He was confused but spoke perfect English. I pointed to my dog. He said he didn't know but it wasn't his decision so he went in to talk to the hosts. He returned saying they would serve me. There is no way this gentleman did not communicate this properly. He understood the issue and although shy and differential communicated well. He came back telling me that someone would take care of me. I floated, standing up for a bit, then sitting down in an overt place for 15 min. A server came out to quickly wisk me away when they noticed that I was expecting to be served. This means two things. They disregarded the busboy and did not give him a actionable response because of his nature or ethnicity. And secondly they established mistrust between me and the front of the house. I don't care about your dog policy by the curb. That is your discretion as a business. Please don't respond pretending that is the issue I am upset at the disrespect shown by the front of the house ignoring your staff, and my discretion and civility being ignored. I am leaving a 5 star review, not because i feel ok about this. But because your reviews show a high leaning to 5 and i dont want to impact your business negatively.

The party details were clearly written out and there were plenty of available dates and time slots. I did not have any issues to reserve for a 4 pm Sunday party for 24 children. On the day of the party, we arrived 30 minutes early to unload our car and set up the outside food and snacks, and party favors. There are two separate sections for check-ins, one was party attendees and the other was for general admissions. There was a small wait because there was no staff checking people in for parties and two staff were checking in for general admissions. Regardless, we were able to check in and my girls were able to enjoy the play areas while I set up the party. To save time, I highly recommend for parents to remember to sign the waivers beforehand. The food arrived in a relatively timely manner. The staff needed reminders to bring out the utensils and napkins but otherwise she was helpful. We had a good time and did not feel rushed.

The campus grounds are an incredible mix of pathways, trees, wildlife, and I enjoyed a walk and a run. The hotel grounds were set up for a wedding right by Lake Fred a beautiful setting with a nice separate building for weddings. My room was nice, I was missing soap and in the shower it was just three shampoos, no body wash. The hotel seemed pretty full on a Saturday, so I skipped the pool and all the kids and families. Self park on your left before you reach the hotel - it's so easy to walk up to the hotel from the free self-park. It's an idyllic setting, and there's so much going on in nearby Oak Brook, I would totally stay here again.
