So we order some tacos and a burrito my burrito was like a jumbo hot dog, I don't like lettuce and tomatoes I order it with crema, cheese, beans, aguacate and of course steak and let me tell you for $15 dollars my god your steak has more fat then meat I know prices are high but come on use better meat. I only had a glass of margarita the first time I tried Tapatio. The place was clean and empty on a Thursday evening. The service was friendly when the server took our drink orders. We decided to come back about a couple of weeks later to try their food. There was one other table occupied with one customer dining in. On this visit, I've tried: FISH, SHRIMP, STEAK tacos- all of the proteins were fine, nothing really stood out. The tacos overall, were somehow disappointing. STEAK FAJITAS- I did not expect this dish to be soggy and bland. The steak was mixed and overcooked with the veggies. The chips and salsa were good. The drinks were decent. The service on the second visit was close to none existent. I'm not sure I'd come back. I wasn't too happy with the food and the service needs a lot of work and consistency. read more

Even though this establishment JUST opened, they brought their "A" game. For dinner, we had an appetizer, 2 entrees, a soda & water and got out for under $50. Their guacamole is to die for. I had a shrimp dish that was very good. Parking could be an issue, depending on when you arrive. Stay away during commuter hours because they are located directly south of the Westmont train station. read more

Burritos were not as big as Los Tapatios or del Carmen. More expensive than their competitors as well. Chorizo and pastor tacos were good but not incredible. Red chipotle salsa was good good! Will be going back to try their spicy shrimp. And as it took me several months to finish this review, their marsicos options are not worth it. Not spicy enough, portions remained too small compared to the generous authentic Mexican establishments in the area. read more

My husband ordered 2 burritos, with different toppings, we ordered carry out and picked them up. The burritos were not labeled. Impossible to know which is which without opening them up. I called to report how disappointed I was and was asked if I want to bring them back. We brought them back and was offered $25 in cash because we had eaten some of them. My husband bit into one to find out which is which and had a couple of bites of his. I was offered no apology on the phone. My husband also mentioned an avocado allergy that was dismissed. The attempt to correct their mistake was an insult. We will never return. read more

Arrived just before a Friday evening dinner rush! Our waiter was kind and attentive. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated as well. I had pastor sope and asada sope and both taste great. Had dinner at 6pm on Thursday night. Not many people there, waitress "Norma" was very nice and attentive, our order came very fast, however it was not very busy. Tapatio has become our go-to Mexican restaurant, and one of my area favorites. Fast, friendly service; we were treated like regulars well before we actually became regulars. Dynamite food and margaritas, with very reasonable prices. I can't get enough of the Bistek Tapatio, and taking home some fried ice cream to enjoy at home later (one portion is enough for tres personas!) is a great way to extend the Tapatio happies! read more

Other than taking a while to get our order in, everything was great. Their mango salsa with the opening chips is excellent. We had enchiladas, tostadas, and steak burrito, all of them fantastic. The best tortas I've had. the Mexican sausage was flavorful and spicy. The vegetables were fresh. The tortilla chips were homemade and had a nice crunch to them. The salsa was mild but still flavorful and fried ice cream was sweet and creamy. And the churro chips with the fried ice cream were buttery and crunchy. read more

We've been there several times since they opened......food has always been fantastic. Staff is always friendly and restaurant is always clean. What more can you ask for?? Road construction in the area has made it harder to get to than usual but not their fault so please frequent the restaurant so the construction doesn't hurt their business! Newer business in Westmont but we live close by so we checked it out. Very quickly added it to our regular rotation of food options in the area. Came in on a Friday around 4:30 and wasn't very busy inside. Service was reasonably quick (10 minutes) for takeout. The horchata was great but the two steak burritos we got were very disappointing. The steak was dry and tasted off, very poor all around. The service was great and the interior was very nice but it fell short in the food category read more
