Absolutely ridiculous wait time. My appointment was at 730 this morning and it's now 9am and I'm still waiting. How the hell do you get behind when I had one of the first appointments of the day. If you're company is so money hungry you need to over book that many appointments maybe you should figure something out. I'm tired of doctors thinking their time is more important than mine. I just left the office without being seen by the doctor. Not a single staff member even asked why I was leaving. Horrible customer service. So much for "caring" for your patients! read more

The staff was courteous however I was not told about any possible reattachment of my retina by the retina specialist they are sending me to see. I still see light and hand waving in front of it which signifies that I might have a chance to regain at least partial sight to my right eye. This was not discussed with me at all. I have had myophia since I was in elementary school and I have always been tempted by doing Lasik so I can get rid of glasses and contacts (-5.75 / -4.5 with stigmatism) forever. However, when dealing with stuff like eyes, you want to find a highly skilled and reputable doctor. Dr. Hu was recommended to me by my relative who lives in Texas. I finally decided to make a trip from New York to Dallas two weeks ago to see Dr. Hu and hope my eyes could be qualified for Lasik. The scheduling of appointments was fairly easy thanks to my family living in Texas. I went in on a Monday morning for the initial checkup. The reception area was gut renovated and feels clean and professional. The front desk staff verified my appointment and asked me to fill in some information. I waited for about 15 min (very short compared to the wait time in NYC) until I was greeted by a technician to start a series of tests. The whole checkup period took about 1.5 hours including various waiting in between, but the process is very comprehensive and everyone (Katie, Toni, Dr. Wagner, Dr. Hu) I met demonstrated great professionalism. After completing the checkup, Dr. Hu told me my eyes were qualified for the SMILE treatment. I confirmed my surgery details and left. A few days later I came back for the surgery. I was very nervous in the beginning but Dr. Hu quickly helped me calm down and explained what I should expect in each step in detail. The entire surgery only took about 20 minutes or so and I immediately felt I was able to see much better right after. I went back for two post-op checkups before I flew back to New York. The patient experience was amazing throughout. Thanks to Dr. Hu and his team, I can finally see all the ADs clearly on the NYC subways now! read more

I was hesitant to go to Texas Eye and Laser Center because of the yelp reviews but went anyway. Most of these reviews on yelp are very old and if you go to google reviews they are better. I just had my Lasik done by Dr. Ranelle and am so grateful for him! I found the staff very friendly and walked me through each and every step very well. The wait time was not long each time I went in. Other than the time it takes to dilate your eyes or allow the medication to take effect, it was a quick process. I can see perfect now after living almost my entire life with bad vision! I'm so grateful for an experienced doctor! He walked me through each and every step to know exactly what to expect. 'So this time on this day?' and kept getting short 'mm' 'mm' I live about 40 minutes away and could go to a doctor down the street from me, but I to stick to my eye doctor. ________ The people at the front desk are very rude. Staff in the back are a little more nicer and when you finally get to a doctor, their so nice and willing to help me on my special case. Calling to set up an appointment with the front desk is extremely unprofessional. New training needs to be implemented. So experience starts off cold and then it gets more professional and like you're at a doctors office. Its sometimes hard to schedule appointments with the doctors cause they go out of town a lot on Fridays, so just avoid scheduling on that day. read more

Just had lasik done April 26th. I've wanted to do this for so long, but have heard some horror stories. A very good friend of mine had lasik done here and told me how wonderful everyone here is. I made the appointment to have testing done. Which was free. They game me my options and I made my surgery appointment. I have to change the date 2 different times due to last min family things. They where very helpful helping me change the date. The next day I had my check up, I was already seeing 20/20. I just can't believe the difference. I have been in glasses since I was in the 4th grade. It's been over 2 weeks since surgery and I'm having no issues and perfect sight. read more

I have a cataract on my left eye, and Dr. Ranelle was recommended by a friend. I checked in early and immediately began being called for tests. All the technicians were great and very professional. The tests, however took approximately 3 hours. In the short time I saw him, Dr. Rannelle was very kind and personable. The real nightmare began when the financial information was being discussed. The lady was not very nice and treated both my husband and myself as if we were ignorant. By the way, we are both college graduates and consider ourselves to be intelligent. I was told I had an astigmatism that I had not ever heard in my lifetime of needing vision correction. The actual amount being charged kept changing, and the numbers did not add up. I was asked to sign a multitude of paperwork with impaired vision from the eye dilation. When I went to pick up the very expensive prescribed eye drops, I was told by the pharmacist one contained sulfa to which I am allergic and had written numerous times on my paperwork. I was told when I called in that the doctor said to go ahead and use the drops. I have cancelled all appointments as I felt like I was being scammed after being there for over 4 hours. read more

Dr Hue and the staff here are absolutely amazing. I have been going here for two years and my vision has been saved. Two cornea transplants that have been absolutely phenomenal. WARNING!! Last August I had a multifocal IOL implanted into my eye by Dr. Ho. He promised I would be very satisfied with my new lens. I was 48 years old at the time. I have/had hyperopia. I was/am farsighted and can see extremely well at a distance. I have seen extremely well my whole life until I hit my early 40's. At that point I could not see as well up close. Anyway, I was told I would be very satisfied. Now, I can't see at all without glasses on. I even have to take out the lens of the glasses on the right eye in order to be able to read anything. I paid a lot for this and it is horrible. I have given it almost a year and have had no further improvement as they promise. Now, I was told the other day to give it several years!!!! to describe my vision - MY VISION IS LIKE I AM UNDERWATER ALL THE TIME. They did the yag laser and it only made me feel like I went from dirty pool water to clean pool water. I am battling this everyday - feeling like I am swimming everywhere I go and it is even triggering more migraines for me. HARD TO WORK and can't do any fun things anymore. HARD TO TYPE THIS TOO. NEVER ALLOW THEM TO DO THIS TO YOUR EYES. NOW I HAVE TO PAY MORE FOR GLASSES AND CANT SEE NEARLY AS GOOD AS I COULD BEFORE. IT IS HARD TO WORK AND DO ANYTHING. I went there for moral support for my roommate/Best Friend She was so excited to find out if they could give her better vision,We had a problem first off signing in and Insurance the ladies behind the desk were not any help so they call out to their boss that came out of a room off to the side she looked pissed off and mad then she put on some half cocked smile,but she was hateful and did not know anything either,They all had to help each other and even called someone else to ask what to do,Never seen that lack of know how at any Doctor's Office I have been to.That finally got done.Then had to wait so long then We got called and just did some quick test and then Put us in a back room to wait so more! Went there with my older sister on her appointment. To check it out thinking about Lasik for my eye's. The sign in was ok not great or good and insurance verification was a big cluster F! They acted like they did not know how to do it or understood it and they talk so loud it echo's and everyone in the waiting room can Hear your business and private information, So Wrong and unacceptable But wait and we did waited for along time. Then they call your name and take you to do some test that only takes a few minutes then they put you in a little 6x9 Prison box exam room to wait out the rest of your sentence, Then the Doctor comes in checks you out talks to you a few minutes and hours later your out of there wishing I would have stayed home or gone to work then gone there, Really Bad Service the Doctor there must think We just go there to give them a bunch of Money because there patient service is super bad. read more
