O man Horrible Internet speeds here issues with the service that really effects what you are getting. http://www.netwurx.net/residential/86-residential-wireless 1. they are selling you minimum 6 meg service but if you downloading something that's over 60 meg soon as you hit that 60 mgs you get dropped they claim to 1 meg but the service actually downloads at - 60 to 80 kilo bytes, tested this if you are downloading a 5 gig game or something in steam will show you what your download speed is and the steam service can handle speeds of up to 50 meg my friend has a 60 meg connection thro and he downloads speeds of 50 meg second on steam. so I know that it issue with my ISP only allowing me to download at a constant speed of 60 to 80 kilo bytes - even thought you are paying for 6 megs according. 2. even at the highest level which you are paying for 8 megs they only claim you might get max of 5 megs if you download any thing higher then 300 megs. 3. the service is horrible here's deal you can log into the modem that connects from your wireless end to there tower - my connection is always establish and strong in fact I can see the tower from my window. The problem is that, if you are doing something like downloading Garmin updates or files - or video games, or using team speak to chat or watching movies on you tube it does not matter what service package you get form them, even if you have prefect connection they and you have access to internet like google those long running services that you are using if your connected to them for any length of time they will just randomly disconnect you from them, you internet will not drop you will not get disconnected from the internet - you just get disconnected from the service you are using it will time out. the only reason any one goes with this company is because if you live min out of any town you have no internet options at all in this area, so there is no competition at all and so netwurx does not care. also things like Huge net has horrible service also for doing any type of gaming or voice chat. due to fact that it takes so long for radio waves to get from earth to a sat and back. so there is no good internet options any where out side of the towns. read more

We originally subscribed with Netwurx because we strongly believe in supporting privately-owned companies. Netwurx is such and it's been interesting to watch it grow from the ground up during the 15+ years it was our ISP. As an internet service provider, Netwurx has some positive things going for it. It's a high speed internet option for the rural communities of southeastern Wisconsin, an area that, in spite of being located between Milwaukee and Madison, actually doesn't have many options. When you call support you actually get a live person, and usually one of the same 2-3 people. The subscriber fee is comparable to other ISPs. Some people have good reception with it. Netwurx also has some negatives and here's why we no longer subscribe to them. Apparently we are some of those who DON'T get good reception with Netwurx. Even though we live on a hill and were just a few miles from one of their transmitting towers, we just could not make a reliable connection. Netwurx told us we couldn't use their 2.4 and 5.2 GHz modules because we weren't in clear site of their tower. Instead we were put on 900 MHz which apparently is affected by lots of fellow users, like ham radio operators, etc. Anyway, our reception was always slow, slow, slow. And our connection was always dropping at any given time. This poor reception continued over the years, even though we upgraded computers, routers, Canopy Subscriber Module (antenna) and connecting cables. The most frustrating thing however was the attitude Netwurx gave us whenever we called for support. Yes, you get a live person but they weren't always friendly. More times than not, they told us the problem was our fault or that we were the only one having poor reception (right or wrong, that's not really what any customer wants to hear). We always felt that they didn't take our issue seriously. Their onsite service technicians were out and out rude. Interestingly, we now have changed to satellite for our internet and we're getting great reception. A recent speed check clocked in at 10 Mgbs. While certainly not as fast as cable, it's lightyears faster than we ever got with Netwurx. And most impressively, their technicians are friendly, respectful and helpful. read more

Netwurx has always provided us with wonderful customer service as they make it possible for us in a rural area to receive high speed internet. (How could we live without Netflix?) From setting up our connection, when they listened to our needs and worked hard to get us the connection we needed, to my calls for technology help, Netwurx staff has gone above and beyond. That's one of the best things about this local company- they take time for their customers. read more

Let me start off with I have been a customer with Netwurx for over 10yrs. After checking with there plans they offered a deal if you purchased the equipment for $300+ you would pay around $25 a month..or something like $45 and rent it..so I purchased. It started off with a decent deal, comparable to what I was paying for DSL when we lived in town, speed wise I could get around 2 Mbps download. After some time that slowed some and several days with super poor service, you would call/contact them, same story, "no problems here", reboot your "paddle/router and computer". I started to get interference issues slowing my connection even more, they seem to care even less. Around the 5 year mark I get a bill and letter stating there was an error and I must start paying them $45+ a month, I said no way I purchased my equip and was only suppose to pay $25, they said that was only a promo deal and you feel through the cracks, you should have been paying X for a long time..whatever. So over the past 5 years I have been watching more and more subscribers accessing the sites, went from 10-15 to 25-40, (same bandwidth to share), and now they limit your throughput so you can only get a short burst than it basically dies. I am lucky to pull down .5mbps...yeah thats right .5. I call and they could care less, and their response, "thats about right" even if I say "I was getting 2Mbps before, they just scoff and say "sorry". I have tried several different "Towers/sites" but all seem to pass about the same throughput. There is no listening to music, watching a You Tube videos or even clips in Face Book.... Slow service and installer made a mess setting up and then taking down...installer was rude and overbearing and when picking up equipment left holes in our home, refused to take the cord down and stated we do not pay our bills and that he should charge us $200 for coming out and retrieving equipment. Netwurx has lousy service and we have had nothing but trouble since we signed up. Would definitely not recommend this company! read more

I originally signed up for this antenna based internet through Eyecomwireless out of Hartland, WI and then they were bought out by Netwurx. The reason being there is just no other alternative aside from dial-up or satellite and I have been waiting since about 1993 for AT&T or cable to become available on my street. I live right at the edge where DSL is not an option. Pros Service is below $55 a month When internet is available speeds seem acceptable. Cons Loss of internet when it rains, snows, or even foggy Late night outages ( I suspect service times) with no advance notice Over the years prices have gone up as they have increased the cost, added on extra charges, and had to pay out of pocket for newer equipment when they changed. When they took over from Eyecomwireless they always blamed the equipment but when they went to the canopy system service it did not improve and it cost hundreds out of my pocket for the new equipment. Aside from one tree I am in direct line of site to the Sussex area antenna at I believe about 2500 yards. With Eyecom if one antenna went down I could move the antenna here to a different tower and still get internet although at a much weaker and slower rate. For all these years I have had to pay for another dial-up provider just to make sure I can connect when Netwurx service goes down as it has tonight at 7pm (it rained) and it is almost 2 am now and service is still not back up. I'm on dial-up now. I work 2nd shift so most of my computer time is late night and when I come home to pay a bill on the internet and it is not available it really ticks me off. For all but 1 time when I required service I have taken the equipment in to them for replacement when needed. The one time they told me the problem was my equipment and they would send a tech out (Tues after waiting the weekend) he came to the house and said the problem was fixed without even checking the equipment (service had come back Mon). In the past I have recommended Eyecomwireless to several but the one time I told a neighbor about Netwurx all I heard were complaints after that. read more

Make sure you read all the reviews. For some reason most aren't showing. Go to any review site and you will see the same low ratings. I don't know why anyone would give them two stares... I don't care if they're "privately owned" like D.L. stated. They are so crappy that this makes me wish they got taken over by a larger, better and more efficient corporation like DSL. This is the only ISP I can get in my area.... It is far behind the competition. It's the Dial-up of modern day. They aren't even shy about this fact though, they state you can only get around 1Mbs for 50$!!! Crazy right?!?! I can hardly watch a youtube video at that speed. I wish so bad that everyone would stop funding these people.... they are just so horrible. Heck, I bet the owners wouldn't even think about using their product. I saw one reviewer had DSL and switched... what were you thinking friend? Please do not willingly switch to this horrible service and consider get a hotspot if you can only get this service. At least till they're out of business. read more
