This counselor clearly does not want to help anyone. I tried scheduling an appointment for my…read morepartner and I via email with her, when the date we wanted wasn't available all she said was "sorry I don't have time, and I don't take clients past 6." Okay, that's fine with me. I then replied again asking to do something earlier than 6 another day that week. She then replied "no sorry" she didn't offer any sort of schedule availability, alternative times or dates, nothing. If your career is helping people then that's what you should do, is help. Which starts with scheduling. In no way did she make me feel welcome, rather I felt like I was an inconvenience.

I found this counselor by searching on Molina's "Find a Provider" tool. After Googling her and…read morereading her website, I thought she sounded like a good match for my needs. Her website said she could be reached by email and because I was a little apprehensive, I decided to email instead of call in order to find out more about her and her practice, as well as if she accepted my insurance. Unfortunately, over a month later I still haven't heard back. I want a counselor that checks their email regularly, ESPECIALLY if they list it as a reachable way to contact them on their site. Either update your website and take that off or check your mail AT LEAST once every 24 hours. The profession you're in, very often people need help immediately and it seems irresponsible to not check your email.

It was a surprise to my spouse, as these folks are not used to being called out on anything. And they don't like it. Needless to say, he will not be taking any more classes, especially after reading the reviews here. As far as reviews on therapy for narcissists go, I can't imagine anything good coming out of it. I mean we are talking narcissists. They are almost the most difficult people to deal with on the earth. And sadly I think most are immune to therapy, immune to seeing their spouse, as well as themselves, in a normal healthy way, immune from true communication. Dr Hawkins, in my opinion, has taken on a task that no one else wants - the redeeming of those who were thought to be irredeemable. Good for him. And God bless him, cause he'll need it. You don't hear a lot from a "recovered" or "redeemed" narcissist, unfortunately. I don't think there are many out there. Now that would be a review! I do believe in miracles and I hope a great review from a reformed narcissist comes soon. And may God bless any victims here with the courage and strength it takes to give themselves permission to have peace now, to have peace anyway. It is within them, not within their spouse.

Absolutely disgusted! Seven years ago I reached out to MRC and found support with Dr. Hudson even…read morethough my marriage did not survive. Fast forward, my daughter is going through an identity crisis at age 26 (married at 19) and she asked me if I can refer her to a female therapist. I have had a couple of sessions with Sharmen Kimbrough 7 years ago. Knowing their mission is to save marriages (I thought), without any hesitation I recommended Sharmen. Mercy! What a let down! My daughter has an emotional affair at work. She shares this with Sharmen to which she replied, "maybe that was meant to be so you can see the kind of man you want". Are you serious? You're talking to a married woman, not a single woman. And the man she wants would be a cheater? A married man with three children? I am in shock at her values! Then, my son in law could not afford therapy (they were a young couple) I paid for a session. He pleaded with her to help them restore the marriage. He came out cold and shocked from the session "she said maybe we shouldn't be together". Are you serious? Is this the work of God or the devil? Then to top it off, ever since my daughter saw Sharmen, she completely stopped having a relationship with her mother. I am deeply saddened by her approach and contributing to their marriage crumbling. Let me make it plain and clear, I am not an advocate of abuse. I just believe that with the right godly resources a lot of marriages could be salvaged and even thrive. I will forever regret referring my daughter with such a young immature mind to Sharmen. Huge letdown! I will never EVER refer anyone to MRC or Sharmen Kimbrough!
