I felt comfortable early on as I quickly developed a strong trust in my therapy with her. I feel she focuses on what I am saying. She is nonjudgmental and accepting and able to start where I am. And I am often lost in tangents of avoidance. She then helps me navigate my difficult and stressful times showing empathy as though she is standing in my shoes. I do feel understood and heard. She does not try to solve my problems but keeps me on track toward the solution that I am sure she already knows. She has excellent problem-solving skills to help me to cognitively identify and make changes to my negative thought patterns and other harmful behaviors. But when it comes to long term care, especially with Dr. Brooks, I've had major concerns. I've seen him twice, and both times were frustrating. The biggest issue? He only prescribes medications for 30 days at a time whether it's a controlled substance or a basic antidepressant. If your refill date falls on a weekend or you miss a follow up due to a valid emergency, you're just out of luck. That's unacceptable. As a psychiatrist, he should know the impact of missing even a day of an antidepressant. Brain zaps, confusion, impaired coordination, these are real and debilitating side effects. And to leave patients hanging like that, especially when they're dealing with mental health challenges, is not only unprofessional, it's extremely dangerous. Recently, I had to be rushed to Seattle's Harborview Medical Center after losing feeling from the waist down due to a spinal injury. I missed my appointment with Dr. Brooks, but I offered to provide hospital records and doctor's notes to explain. Still, I was marked as a no show, left without medication, and warned that I now have two strikes against me. There was little compassion. No flexibility. Just empty bottles and extreme added stress piled on top of an already serious health crisis. This kind of cold, rigid approach is not what I need in a long term care provider. Especially one in control of mental health medication. I've filed a formal complaint with the Washington Medical Board because no patient should be put through this kind of mental and emotional strain, especially when they've been on a stable prescription for years. If you choose this clinic, be prepared. Dr. Brooks will only give you 30 day prescriptions, and if life throws you a curveball, you might be left in a very bad place with no support.

Many who want to seek out some help are…read morealready dealing with the stigma around mental health care and then it's compounded by counselors that are not a good fit in a over sterile environment that's cold and unfriendly with someone who feels too authoritarian asking too many frustrating questions or not the right questions rather. It can feel really discouraging to be in counseling for a long period of time and have no idea what you've been getting out of it if anything at all. Dr. Langer is different. He is what counseling should be. He has very realistic and helpful suggestions. Helps you in using tools and skills you didn't even know you had. He always lets you know what you're doing right. I looked forward to going and I how to positive attitude for the remainder of the day after my sessions. That speaks volumes. I was comfortable instantly. The environment is welcoming. His manner is kind , direct, and he has excellent tactfulness when dealing with intense issues. Go see him!

The office is newly updated with a beautiful reception room and lots of current equipment. It was easy to get an appointment scheduled and they were willing to bill my insurance for annual exam. The front office staff was welcoming and I filled out the new paperwork and probably only waited 10 minutes or so before I was taken back to the exam operatory. The operatories are also new with a clean white interior design that give it both a modern look as well as the feel of sterility you want in a physician's office. Dr. Kim was very professional and answered my questions. For the pigmentation she recommended a laser procedure but acknowledged its shortcomings that the pigmentation would likely return due to sun exposure and my genetics. I appreciated her discussing the likelihood of recurrence considering the laser treatment was costly. They have a lot of skin products that were pushed towards the end of the appointment which I wasn't a fan of. Other than that, I felt the office did a good job of reviewing my options and everyone was pleasant and professional.

I called ahead to be sure Dr. Kim was familiar with Sculpra. Even though I was assured that she had…read moredone many applications, I should have known better when she was mixing it as I was led to the room. I knew at the very least it should be mixed at the least 2 days in advance. I continued to have the treatments. The only change was that I ended up with several visible nodules that are still visible 30 months later. Stupidly trusting, I paid over $10,000 to have other, often painful, usless procedures performed. Dr. Kim has a sweet personality but she is inexperienced. As a further note. I had Sculptra injected years back, by a physician in Philadelphia, with amazing results! Do not waste your money here!
