My wife and I hired Neville to DJ and MC our wedding in April of this year. Neville was great from start to finish. He communicated regularly in the run up to the big day, and he also met with us about a month beforehand. Nev MCed our wedding and was FANTASTIC. Super charismatic, super nice, made everyone feel included. Talking to all the guests afterwards the word I heard most about Nev was "artist". We hired Neville to MC our wedding, and he brought I believe Trevor to DJ. During our engagement period we were on top of plugging our music selections into the website well in advance to our wedding. We also met with Neville about 2 months before our wedding to discuss a timeline for the reception, as well as more about the music we wanted. We printed out the songs we wanted for the various parts of our wedding on an excel spreadsheet for Neville. Day of the wedding, the dj played some of our wedding party entrance songs wrong. Our first dance was supposed to be Rascal Flatts "Broken Road", and the dj played a piano version of the song. Neville apologized for the mistake, but that's something we will remember forever. I also felt at some points I had to talk to Neville about keeping on track with the timeline. I wish we would have scheduled a time for us to thank the guests, like during some down time, which we feel we didn't have. We went from dinner straight into dancing and were unable to mingle with any of our guests. There also were no slow songs played during the dancing time, which I would've liked. My suggestion is that we would've met with both the MC and DJ so there was no miscommunication. I feel if we would've talked to the DJ some of these issues could've been fixed. All that aside, Neville brought great energy to our wedding, was a perfect about of energy without stealing from our spotlight. He got out and taught our guests how to dance to some songs and remained upbeat the entire wedding. We first met Neville while we were cruising on a Disney Cruise Ship. He was working onboard as an entertainer and we were immediately wowed by his stage presence, energy and enthusiasm. To say that Neville was both a pleasure to work with and a key component of our wedding day would be a true understatement, but that's exactly how I'd describe him without turning into a gushing mess. We met Neville at a showcase of wedding DJs and entertainers, and just in that short hour or so he stuck out vividly in a room full of some pretty talented and skilled emcees. He came off as personable, charming, engaged and genuinely interested in not only the kind of wedding we wanted to have but in us as people. Further interactions with him only proved this to be the case. One of the things that most impressed us in the lead-up to the wedding was his flexibility in making our wedding what WE wanted it to be while also, in many ways, mentoring us through the process with his experience. He's a very thoughtful guy, and when we met with him prior to the wedding to go over the details, he asked us a number of questions to get the feel of our particular day and offer his advice on certain elements of it. While there were many times he said, "Sure, I can do that," there were several occasions when we asked for something and he responded with, "I like that idea, and I think I have a great way to do it..." It was a really calming way of guiding us in the right direction without telling us, "No." And I'm sure he HAS said no before, but his focus seems to be on giving you what you want by sometimes steering you gently into something that's going to work better than what you initially envisioned. We were very thankful for that. On the day...what can I say? He was one of the highlights of our wedding. We had one underlying theme for the reception: we wanted it to be fun. And damn, was it ever - and a lot of that credit goes to Neville. Everything went as smoothly as could have been hoped for, and we lost count of how many of our guests told us that Neville was a highlight. He had a great knack for fading into the background when he wasn't running the show just as much as he did getting the crowd lit up and ready to go when it was time to dance. He got multiple - MULTIPLE - calls to perform something on his own. When the audience enjoys you that much, you've done something right. And I can tell you that our other vendors were emphatic that he was a pleasure to coordinate with. Look, we've only had one wedding and thus one wedding entertainer, so it'd be silly for us to claim Neville is the one and only choice out there.
