So I called to sell a vehicle. The office answers and they say "hello this is so and so" then I start to speak then they say "unfortunately our phones are having an issue" then hang up. Did this to me multiple times and I bet the women had a good laugh at it. Just hanging up in people face? If the phone was really down why wait til I respond and why even answer the phone if it's supposedly down? These women played with me all morning for a simple pick up. It's the most childish thing I've ever experienced from a business. Not only that I had to reschedule only one time , ONE TIME because I needed to clean the vehicle out. Junk yard, junk people. As soon as you turn around, people steal your tools. Staff unable to help by checking cameras or checking the exit. Are they afraid of the crowd working on the cars? There is a mexican food stand outdoors, some know what that means. Even if they have the car you need, most parts are taken already. read more

Told the manager Larry McArthur to talk his driver he got offended & tried to check me for speaking up, & raising my voice. His ego was so hurt that i was raised my voice. I decided to take the initiative and replace the AC unit on my old Honda. This leadership trait came to me only after my shop was going to charge me nearly $900 to replace it! You basically take the tools you're going to need in order to remove the parts you require. So do your homework on tools and parts you're going to need. I lucked out and found the last available Honda AC unit for my car model. All I needed was a flathead and Phillip's screwdriver. I was able to remove the part in 15 minutes. This particular part only cost me $25! They give you a 30-day warantee if you need to return it. There's no refunds, but they'll get your the part you need if the one you picked out is defective or doesn't work. Replacing the part on my car was a breeze. I literally saved over $800! SCREWED OVER: charged for the wrong item x2. Bought a set of EXHAUST HEADERS TUBE, listed at $27.50 ea. Was charged for exhaust manifolds x2, $28.50 ea plus core charges @ $2.00 ea. The clerk charged my card wouldn't listen or change the amounts, I just left as it was closing time. Sent an email with pictures, no response. Spoke via phone to the supervisor, no help at all like talking to a wall. Any car lover knows the difference between exhaust manifolds (generally cast iron), and exhaust headers (thin wall tubing), as I'm sure the clerk knew as well. Headers generally sold as a set, one charge would have been the correct amount. Looking on their website with prices the category EXHAUST HEADERS TUBE should apply. Mood - my car We researched online the inventory for what I was looking for. We saw 3 vehicles of the same make and model had just been brought in within the past 2 weeks. So we made the drive over there. Upon entering, if your a guy they charge $1.00 for entry and it's free for ladies. Once you sign your name they check your tool bag ect and mark it, so they know the contents belong to you. They have the yard separated by trucks on one side and cars on the other, then individual rows of makes. Each of the vehicles have the tires removed and are sitting on top of rims. Once you find the part your looking for remove it and take it up to the front to pay. What I was interested in, was not in good shape, but we have used this place to get a transmission that we had rebuilt. Pricing is usually fair, and they list all of the pricing online. I rarely go out in the hot sun for car parts...but when I do...I prefer Nevada Pic A Part. First time going out to this salvage yard, and I must say, I had fun! Going out with the father-in-law for what I thought was one Nissan part and 30 minutes, ended up being extra Honda parts and 4 hours later! We were out there for some time! Nevada Pic A Part is organized pretty well, trucks on one side, cars on the other. Then further organized into foreign and domestic. For guys, it costs a $1 to get in for admission. Girls? They're free. Makes it seem like a night club. It's called Nevada Pic A Part for a reason. You will pick out all your own parts! Don't come here expecting it all laid out for you! This place is a mechanic's wet dream, which is why my father-in-law loves coming here. A mechanic by trade, he can be here for hours and not even care. So come with a hat and some water! I sure didn't and I paid the price with a red, sunburned scalp. Bring some tools too in case you find anything you want, you will definitely be doing the labor all on your own. If you're not mechanically inclined, bring some friends! But dammit, be careful! Dropping an old car on your foot cannot feel good. After finding the part we needed for our old 1993 Nissan Pathfinder, we decided to wander a bit. This is where I got in some trouble. I found me a mini Honda Prelude heaven! And as luck would have it, vintage 80's Preludes just waiting to be picked apart! I was seriously having some sweaty fun, picking needed extra parts for my baby Eva, my 1986 Honda Prelude. Getting down and dirty, I got some extra headrests, a gas cap, an oil cap, a cigarette lighter (hard to find), a dome light cover, some door trim, and a super hard to find arm rest base! All OEM original! So stoked! Parts were a bit dirty but after some elbow grease I got them back to near new condition. Very happy day. Prices will vary at Nevada Pic A Part based on the parts you are getting, and if they are for a car or a truck. I guess negotiating on price is a thing of the past unfortunately. My father-in-law said you used to be able to haggle on prices before, but I tried and yep, now you can't. Kinda takes out some of the fun of doing stuff like this. But the prices were reasonable for what I did get, especially since they are all original parts. Had some bonding time with the father-in-law, and got some needed parts to boot. Definitely diy here. $1 entrance fee for guys and ladies enter free! Bring more than enough tools, a sun hat, gallon of water and clothes you wouldn't mind getting stained. Good shoes too, preferably boots. There are car parts scattered everywhere in the lot. The online inventory search works well. I come pretty often to grab parts off a 2000 toyota corolla/prizm. You have to move fast if it's newly arrived. I went the morning after one was listed for a fuel pressure regulator and already its interior, dash and door handles (cheap Japanese plastic doesn't last long in Vegas loool) was already stripped clean off. And I kept making small talk with people passing by to look inside it. The quality is hit or miss. I walked passed a couple cars that were burned out shells, completely totaled, and even from police lots. Price would vary from car to car ig. Most I paid was $25 for a intake manifold. My only complaint is that it's close to Nellis AFB and the jets pass right over you. Really annoying when you're hot and frustrated over a stupid bolt. But give the taco truck out front a try. This place is not bad for a junk yard. People are friendly. I was looking for a horn to replace that little cutest roadrunner meep meep of a horn the Japanese automakers seem to like so much. The prices are slowly creeping up. I found one part but didn't find another. Mostly older vehicles. For example I saw Volvos that were mainly 2004 and earlier as well as BMWs. I am not sure there are that many yards that allow you to just walk around. read more

This place is hit or miss. Part of the fun is the search for the part you need and pulling it yourself. I'm not highly skilled when it comes to cars, but I can hold my own. It's also good practice. For example, I needed to replace a window regulator on my car and decided to get the part from here. By pulling the part from the junk car first, I had the leeway to make mistakes when removing and replacing the door panel. When I had to do the repair on my own car, I was more familiar with the process and less likely to mess something up. Plus, the part was twice as expensive from eBay and six times as expensive from O'Reilly, so the price was right. When they get new inventory, the website is updated with the year, make, model, and exact location on the lot, which is nice because I wouldn't want to make the drive out to North Las Vegas unless a similar car to mine had been placed on the lot recently. You'll have the most luck if you want to pull from 15-20 year old cars, some luck from 10-15 year old cars, and close to zero luck on newer than 10 year old cars. This makes sense because newer cars are more likely to still be on the road or salvaged for parts rather than ending up in a junk yard as a whole car. If a car has already been on the lot for a while, it might already be picked clean. In some instances, you need to get there immediately depending on what part you want. One time all I wanted was a sun visor and saw that a similar car was placed on the lot that day. I made the trek the next morning and saw that the car was down to almost bare bones after being on the lot less than 24 hours. After several subsequent visits I've still never been able to find the passenger side sun visor that I want, and I refuse to pay $50-60 on eBay for a sun visor that rarely gets used. Hopefully I get rid of my car before I need anything else replaced, but in the meantime, at least I know I'll have Nevada Pic A Part as an option for parts. read more

I have used this place many times but the last was very disappointing. I asked the guy at the front where I could find a certain make and model car. I showed him the part I needed to replace. He told me where on the lot to look. I asked him about the price. He said around $11 or $12. I found what I was looking for, removed it from the car and went to pay for it. When I got to the cashier I was told it was $36 plus tax. I explained that the gentleman at the front quoted me $11 or $12. I even pointed out the guy that I talked to. The rude tub of lard behind the window said that was too bad because the guy was not a cashier. He continued his rudeness by asking if I wanted the part or not. I placed the part in the barrel next to the window and left. Next time I will drive the extra distance and use the Henderson facility. read more

So the selling the car part was super smooth. I called and they told me they'd done and tow the car and removed my license plate. Awesome. So the person comes to to tow my car. I give the title, get the check and ask for my license plate back. The driver didn't have the right tool to relpve the plates and told me to just call the company and ask for them back That's where the problem comes in. I call on Saturday and I'm told to call back Monday when others are in to help me. Okay, sure, I'll do that. I call Monday and they make it seem like it was my fault for not taking my plates. As I try to give info on what car it was, I get hung up on. It 13. THIRTEEN calls to get in touch with someone again and all I'm asking for is to get my plates back. Home of the $10 Pick-A-Part! Guys pay $1.00 for entrance and ladies are free. If you are a mechanic or really know how to uninstall and install car parts like my boyfriend does then this is your place for parts! Please make sure you wear a pair of good solid shoes as there are a lot of nails and glass all over the ground, this is not a place appropriate for flip flops as you will not be allowed in. This place is Awesome because we found everything we were looking for! A junk yard with tons of cars that you pick apart for parts, just don't forget tools to take off your needed findings! My boyfriend needed a glove box, a steering wheel mount cover and an arm rest console for his Honda Civic. We found a car just like his and he used his tools and took the parts he needed which are all $10 each for big items. However they gave us a deal and sold all three items to us for $25.00 which is a steal! We got a few misc screws and knobs for free since that are too inexpensive to charge for them. This is a resting place for cars and trucks that have been in accidents and so forth, once the cars are picked clean of interior/exteriors they smash them up for metal, etc. We saved a lot of money by going and picking the parts our self and my boyfriend can install them into his car by himself. We got $150.00 worth of parts for $25.00 so we will be back when we need parts for cars in the future. read more

This was my first time at a junkyard and I have to admit, it was actually kind of fun. Not having had any experience at all at a salvage yard (and being a girl) I was a bit nervous and didn't know what to expect. Luckily the guys there were all helpful. Unfortunately they didn't have the sun visor I needed (HINT: visors are pretty popular--I looked in a lot of cars that were there and didn't see a single one.) But I did salvage a couple of the clips that hold the visor up and out of the way--AND they didn't charge me. Score! The car I was picking from had already been there 8 days so another lesson learned: call daily and if the car you need comes in, GET THERE FAST. Also, guys probably already know this but ladies, be sure to dress appropriately. Heavy jeans, sturdy shoes or work boots. This is NOT the place for shorts, tank tops and sandals. Bring gloves and tools. And if you're salvaging for small parts like I was, bring a backpack or something to carry your stuff in that you won't care if it gets dirty. Be careful--lots of broken glass everywhere. I'm glad I was prepared--I saw women out there who weren't and they didn't look like they were doing too well. A bit far to drive from Hendo where I am (especially since they didn't have what I needed) but as far as services go, very friendly and helpful. read more

One of the only places I can find rows and rows of cars.... but agonizingly confusing with the inventory "search". Three times I've looked up a make, model, year and location only to see it say they don't have anything, then going there and finding three vehicles under that make and model. When they don't keep up with their inventory, you can have a less common (or rare) vehicle that can't be driven simply because you think they won't have the part... but they DO!! Then the car gets taken away after so many weeks, and your chance is gone. That doesn't make any sense. OR... they say there's two of a make and model and you find out one of them is close but one year off-- correct color and row-- but they got the year wrong so the part isn't correct for you. What's the purpose of the business if they don't let you know you can find the part? VERY frustrating. Somebody is lazy, so your life changes because the only vehicle you might have needs a part found nowhere else in town, and it's extremely difficult or impossible to get online. I gave two stars because I have found some parts, and it's usually the only place who has them... but that incorrect inventory time after time really put me in a hard place. read more

Decent salvage year that's fairly organized compared to others. For those that don't know, a pick n' pull style lot allows you to come to a yard with cars spread out. You bring your own tools and borrow a cart and pop parts off for your project. This is great if you are looking for out of production parts on a 10+ year old vehicle. Your A/C Vents busted in your 20 year old van? You can probably get them here for a few bucks, etc. Do you turn your own wrench and can swap an engine? You can probably pick up a non operational beater car for a few hundred dollars and get the engine and transmission out of here for another few hundred and have a running car for cheap if you do the work yourself. For newer cars? With parts in production? I wouldn't bother with salvage yards, you can get a new/reman part with warranty but if you need something you can't buy anymore these places are great. The negative reviews are pretty funny, its like people never been to a junk yard before. Yeah you don't want to bring your kids to one of these for obvious reasons, it's not a playground and yeah there's no warranty on parts, that's why its cheap. read more

Great prices, assuming (1) You have the time to dismantle a wrecked or dead car and (2) You know exactly what you are getting into I got into a major fender bender a few weeks ago. Not wanting to deal with overpriced shipping costs for new parts from the internet (hint: Online stores almost double the amount of money you are paying!), one of my friends told me about this place which I never heard of. On my first day and one and a half hour trying to locate a dead 2001 Corolla to salvage for parts, I pulled out a used hood latch that I needed from a 1996 Camry. I already knew off the top of my head that it is going to fit, basing it on the diagrams I googled for a new one online. I thought it was difficult to locate the cars though. After 45 minutes of walking around the Toyota Section, whatever '01 Corolla that remained must have been picked clean. There was no paint markers on the dirt, or signs sticking out that would label the correct lane that the Corolla was supposed to be sitting in. Also I noticed some car hoods were held up solely by the dismantled valve covers left behind from other customers who went through it. I also found it interesting to examine how many different ways a car can end up inoperable. There was this one particular dead Toyota that looked like (from the smashed windshield) it ran someone over. Something heavy mashed the right part of the windshield and bounced off in some sort of accident. If anyone wanted to start off as a automotive technician, they should be a regular (paying customer) of Pic-A-Part. They only charged me a $1 "cover" to walk through the gates. Since it took me two hours to get through multiple traffic jams today, I plan on returning soon to look for a compatible hood, radiator support, left headlight assembly, and left turn signal lamp, since I only paid $11 dollars plus tax for a fully functional hood latch. That is already one steal of a deal! Online stores attempted to charge me as much as $29 before shipping and tax. read more

Pretty cool place for those parts a little more easy to remove. Always remember to bring what's needed (tool wise to remove it) to get what you need. I find it fun to wonder the lot cause you can find bumper guards or other things to add to your vehicle or vehicles. I had an amazing experience with the gentlemen I dealt with over the phone. I needed someone to basically just buy our vehicle after we got it out of the tow yard. I was trying to avoid all additional fees after there was an accident and our vehicle was totaled. We called around and these guys were extremely easy to work with and explained everything perfectly. They kept in contact with me, let me know how much they would offer, sent a tow truck driver over with a check and we signed over the title. Couldn't have been easier! They really took a cruddy situation for me and turned it around so I could move on to the other stressful things needed to be done when you are in an accident. I truly want to thank these guys for their assistance. The cashier will add core charge without mentioning to you. And it has 30 day time limit. If you are out of town, it is not worth to bring the core to them; or you are local, you could pass the 30 days limit, and they make the money. 3. The cashier will sell you the refund insurace policy without asking. The insurace is 10% on top of the part price. So add the core charge, insurace, environtal charge and tax, it is not cheap, unless you can not find the parts elsewhere. 4. Be very careful about their refund insurance policy. First it is no cash refund, credit only. Second, after the cashier add the insurce, he will not tell you what to do next, maybe purposefully not doing do. In fact, you must have the gate security marked the part to make the part returnable. The gate security does not automatically marked the part, maybe also purposefully so , so your part is not returnable even you have paid for the return insurance policy. Your out there for what seems like hours Scavenging thru other peoples vehicles, their things, some personal private things you don't want to see. It reminded me of looking at foreclosed homes to buy 5 years ago. You really get to see what a lot of people live like . . Their vehicles are a microcosm of their homes and I Wish I Had Thought To Bring Gloves. Anyway, I really (for the most part) liked it, had fun looking. I was able to borrow some wire cutters from a fellow scavenger (very nice) because i decided to look around a bit and then go back to the car and get some tools if i needed them . . Big Mistake. So again, the Survivalist, you have to find things to make tools out of to get the things you want and need. Genuinely dangerous sometimes because your under a hood or trunk that won't stay open on it's own so you have it propped open and the vehicle your in is sitting on top of a couple of rims, one is on it's side with the other one upright inside of it holding the car up (?). I saw a Lot of Cars Jacked up like this. I found pretty much all the things i was looking for. The price was definitely reasonable . . One of the things i went there for was on eBay going for between 100.00 to 150.00. I got that plus several other needed things that were also like new for Only 50.00 total. read more
