We bought an older car for my partner's grandson. It was to be his first car, at age 28. We are out of state from him so finding and buying the car was less than ideal. We thought we'd picked up a dependable car, a 2013 Nissan Altima. We found out afterwards it needed quite a bit of work, including a catalytic converter. We called one shop in Las Vegas and were given a ridiculous quote for the converter. Passion Auto was our next choice and the quotes for the various services were spot on with what my research showed they should be. They also identified an issue the first shop missed, a shredded serpentine belt. Passion Auto was very understanding of our situation and did good work at a fair price. If I could give them a 0 I would. I took my car to get fixed I was told my coolant gasket had a leak. I specifically asked them if there were any other leaks and they assured me it was just that. I brought my car in to get fixed and once it was "fixed" I drove it back home which is less than 5 miles. Once I turned on my car again to use it started shaking a lot I was concerned because I just got it fixed. So I took it back to this auto repair because they had fixed it to begin with. Once they checked it they said the water pump is leaking. I asked them why didn't they tell me it was leaking before they fixed my gas blank they told me nothing was wrong with it before but now it is. How?? I only drove it less than 10miles! They wanted to charge me another 1k ! How do they fix a leak and give back the car with a brand new leak? I told them if they can please see if we can work something out because it was strange that all of a sudden it has a new problem. They said they'd get back to me. Every time I come to this place it is the most comfortable experience. And as a woman taking their car to the shop, that is so hard to come by. For years, I've always had salesmen trying to upsell me on services I don't need and pack on hidden fees. They treat you just like you're family here. I've been dealing with a car rattle for weeks and when I walked in, they had me in and out within a half an hour. I would pick them over a car dealership (or any other mechanic) any day of the week. We had a positive experience about 18 months again at Passion Auto, so when we had an issue with our Civic we brought it here. What an expensive and costly experience for us this time around! We showed Matt videos of the issue we were having with the car. If you drove it an hour or so, it would not restart once you turned it off. This led to being stranded at a gas station twice in a week. Paid $75 for a diagnostic check and was told we needed a new starter and a valve gasket cover. This cost us around $850. Well, the same exact problem happened on the same day after picking up the vehicle back up. So of course we brought it back. Then Matt says he believes it's a heat sensor. He believes he is 85% sure. He originally quotes us $228 more for that. After a back and forth , Matt knocks it down to $170. We agree to this because we don't want to start over with another mechanic. The same exact problem happens yet again. His solution is to then tell us to take it to the dealership. Wow. YOU are the mechanic and I am out over $1k and the car is doing the exact same thing it was doing the day before I brought it to Passion Auto. This is a civic with barely 50k miles on it. I feel very confident we didn't need a new starter at the very least. He insists it was covered in oil but no pics or videos or even just showing us. This guy took our $1k, didn't fix the problem at all and recommended we take it to a dealer after 3 trips to his shop in a week. That is unbelievable to me. Well, we did take it to the dealership and turns out it was the fuel pump. It was the fuel pump, Matt. That's all. Apparently the $75 diagnostic we paid for wasn't able to pick up the fuel pump as being the culprit. What diagnostic check can't pick up a vital issue with the fuel pump?? The car is now running like a champ but we are still $1 k lighter for repairs and parts we didn't need and clearly didn't fix the issue. I would not recommend this place at all anymore. I've never had a mechanic tell me to take it to another mechanic after taking my money before. At least the dealership knew how to fix the issue, and the car is running fine now. Good luck with this place. If they can't figure it out, they will just tell you to go to someone who can. Awesome. 1 star. read more

Employee here backed my car into a lift post causing $2400 documented body damage. Matt the owner refused to pay citing old age of my car, even though 3 years I've paid them thousands. In court, they claim they fixed my car with $500 next door which caused more damage including door alignment issue shown in video below. They comped $400 for mechanical. This is all they would do. I am still out $1500 from their liability and have court transcripts to prove. This is their slogan "ultimate car repair experience" on their sign. Avoid at all costs. read more

Although he did not end up doing the work his estimate was well within the range of my other estimates but he was by far the most professional in his presentation and his written estimate. He was on time, brought all of his measuring tools and got his estimate to me within the day. He is licensed he is bonded and I would use him in a heartbeat next time I have the chance. I have never been angrier in my life with a business. When I first took my car to Passion Auto Repair, I had high hopes. They had mostly good reviews, their prices seemed fair, and they were able to take me in right away. Unfortunately, that was the start of a nightmare. On my first visit, I paid $293.18 for spark plugs and an ignition coil. The very next day, my check engine light came back on. I returned, and they reset the light, telling me it was actually a fuel pressure sensor issue and quoted me $182.56 more. A week later, I brought the car back for that repair. After I paid, the mechanic literally told me, "Drive it around and see what happens. I have no way of knowing if the check engine light will come back on." The very next day...it did. At this point, I had been to their shop three different times for the same issue. My car is a 2019 Ford with under 40,000 miles, very well maintained, so these problems make no sense. Especially after they claimed to have "fixed them" Between the shady repairs, the money I've already lost, and the fact that the same issue keeps coming back, I no longer trust this business at all. Finally, I went in calmly to discuss a refund. Instead of professionalism, I was met with hostility. After a very defensive back-and-forth, the owner told me to "Get the hell out of his shop." I now truly question how they have so many positive reviews. My experience matches all the negative reviews word-for-word, and I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. I used Yelp to get a quote for fixing both my upper control arms for my car and got a couple responses and only Matt came back with a quote and would do the work. The other 2 responses said they don't do the repair. When I took my car in for Smog at one of the oil change franchises I had them put my car on the lift to check what was going on with my front suspension. They quoted me $900 to fix which I knew was ridiculous. Matt did the work for $555 + tax. I called him a couple days before coming in to make an appointment and got one right away the day I was off work. I dropped it off in the morning and it was finished a few hours later. Matt also showed me the old part which I had seen underneath the car and knew the bushings were dry rotted , but after they were off I could see how bad they really were. Also one of the ball joints was shot. It was the original parts on my car which is 20 years old. So it lasted a long time , but what do you expect of a heavy duty suspension on a P71 Crown Victoria that was once an undercover vehicle for Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. This car is tough as nails and super reliable. I would highly recommend coming to this shop. Matt is professional , courteous , knowledgeable , fast service , and reasonably priced. Overall just a great trustworthy shop. The mechanics here know exactly what they are doing and do their best to solve your car's issues without over charging you. Many shops in Vegas try to over charge you for repairs you don't need or simply don't know what they're doing. The mechanics here are very helpful and honest. I had a timing chain issue with my 350z and asked several shops around Vegas for quotes. Passion Auto Repair by far had the fairest price by a large margin and the turn over rate was just 3 days. I had a very slight coolant leak and the mechanics told me exactly what the issue was and got it back to me within an hour with no issues. If you're thinking about taking your car here, I definitely would recommend them. I've taken other cars here for simple maintenance jobs as well and it's been great.
