We've been bringing our vehicles to Matt at Passion Auto for a few years. We live about 60 miles north of Vegas in a small rural town. While visiting Vegas from California, my engine light went on. I chose Passion Auto Repair based on location and their good Yelp reviews. The very short version is they did an excellent job repairing my 21 year old Toyota RAV4 SUV for a fair price, in the allotted time they promised, even despite finding an additional problem during the repair. They showed me the original problem in their garage, and when they discovered something else after I'd left, they sent me images and talked me through what they found, confirming my approval to proceed before doing any work we hadn't yet agreed on. I held off writing this review until I drove the 5+ hours home in case it broke down in the desert. Needless to say, due to my 5 star review, that didn't happen; she's running just as well as before the engine light went on, and I highly recommend Passion's services. I also like that they have a guarantee on their work, and since it's through Nationwide I could've even used it back home in CA if there was an issue (instead of having to drive back to Vegas). I hope I don't need auto work in Vegas on future vacations, but if I do, I'll be going straight back to Passion. read more

Imagine a car mechanic charging you for replacing your alternator, then let you drove home pretending everything is fixed, then you found out not only nothing is fixed, the remote car key stopped working, then when you go back , the mechanic says oh it's not the alternator, it's the computer that needs to be replaced. We had a positive experience about 18 months again at Passion Auto, so when we had an issue with our Civic we brought it here. What an expensive and costly experience for us this time around! We showed Matt videos of the issue we were having with the car. If you drove it an hour or so, it would not restart once you turned it off. This led to being stranded at a gas station twice in a week. Paid $75 for a diagnostic check and was told we needed a new starter and a valve gasket cover. This cost us around $850. Well, the same exact problem happened on the same day after picking up the vehicle back up. So of course we brought it back. Then Matt says he believes it's a heat sensor. He believes he is 85% sure. He originally quotes us $228 more for that. After a back and forth , Matt knocks it down to $170. We agree to this because we don't want to start over with another mechanic. The same exact problem happens yet again. His solution is to then tell us to take it to the dealership. Wow. YOU are the mechanic and I am out over $1k and the car is doing the exact same thing it was doing the day before I brought it to Passion Auto. This is a civic with barely 50k miles on it. I feel very confident we didn't need a new starter at the very least. He insists it was covered in oil but no pics or videos or even just showing us. This guy took our $1k, didn't fix the problem at all and recommended we take it to a dealer after 3 trips to his shop in a week. That is unbelievable to me. Well, we did take it to the dealership and turns out it was the fuel pump. It was the fuel pump, Matt. That's all. Apparently the $75 diagnostic we paid for wasn't able to pick up the fuel pump as being the culprit. What diagnostic check can't pick up a vital issue with the fuel pump?? The car is now running like a champ but we are still $1 k lighter for repairs and parts we didn't need and clearly didn't fix the issue. I would not recommend this place at all anymore. I've never had a mechanic tell me to take it to another mechanic after taking my money before. At least the dealership knew how to fix the issue, and the car is running fine now. Good luck with this place. If they can't figure it out, they will just tell you to go to someone who can. Awesome. 1 star. read more

Employee here backed my car into a lift post causing $2400 documented body damage. Matt the owner refused to pay citing old age of my car, even though 3 years I've paid them thousands. In court, they claim they fixed my car with $500 next door which caused more damage including door alignment issue shown in video below. They comped $400 for mechanical. This is all they would do. I am still out $1500 from their liability and have court transcripts to prove. This is their slogan "ultimate car repair experience" on their sign. Avoid at all costs. read more

I have never been angrier in my life with a business. When I first took my car to Passion Auto Repair, I had high hopes. They had mostly good reviews, their prices seemed fair, and they were able to take me in right away. Unfortunately, that was the start of a nightmare. On my first visit, I paid $293.18 for spark plugs and an ignition coil. The very next day, my check engine light came back on. I returned, and they reset the light, telling me it was actually a fuel pressure sensor issue and quoted me $182.56 more. A week later, I brought the car back for that repair. After I paid, the mechanic literally told me, "Drive it around and see what happens. I have no way of knowing if the check engine light will come back on." The very next day...it did. At this point, I had been to their shop three different times for the same issue. My car is a 2019 Ford with under 40,000 miles, very well maintained, so these problems make no sense. Especially after they claimed to have "fixed them" Between the shady repairs, the money I've already lost, and the fact that the same issue keeps coming back, I no longer trust this business at all. Finally, I went in calmly to discuss a refund. Instead of professionalism, I was met with hostility. After a very defensive back-and-forth, the owner told me to "Get the hell out of his shop." I now truly question how they have so many positive reviews. My experience matches all the negative reviews word-for-word, and I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. I arrived, he took some info and said "Ok, give me about 45 minutes." Car was done and ready in 30 minutes. Great service, great price. If I could give them a 0 I would. I took my car to get fixed I was told my coolant gasket had a leak. I specifically asked them if there were any other leaks and they assured me it was just that. I brought my car in to get fixed and once it was "fixed" I drove it back home which is less than 5 miles. Once I turned on my car again to use it started shaking a lot I was concerned because I just got it fixed. So I took it back to this auto repair because they had fixed it to begin with. Once they checked it they said the water pump is leaking. I asked them why didn't they tell me it was leaking before they fixed my gas blank they told me nothing was wrong with it before but now it is. How?? I only drove it less than 10miles! They wanted to charge me another 1k ! How do they fix a leak and give back the car with a brand new leak? I told them if they can please see if we can work something out because it was strange that all of a sudden it has a new problem. They said they'd get back to me.
