We brought in a grill to be chromed. We were told 3 weeks. As having many items chromed in my adult life we knew this was probably not correct because the normal time for a chrome job is at least five weeks. So expect 5 to 6 weeks and this is normal. After waiting two weeks for my parts to get chromed, I was told they can't chrome in Nevada. They send all their chrome jobs to California! When my parts finally returned from California they were put on a shelf without my name or phone number. So no one called me! I had to send them a photo of my parts so they could find my parts. I checked their website for hours of operation, says they're open on Saturday's. So I drove over all the way from the west side of Vegas to the east side on a Saturday to pick up my parts. Only to find they're CLOSED on Saturday's. They never bothered to updated their website! Huge disappointment. Had to make another trip on Monday. When I finally picked up my parts there were little bubbles in the chrome. You could only see them outside in the daylight. So they had to send my parts back to California for re-chroming and I ended-up waiting an additional three weeks. What I finally got was the show chrome I was expecting in the beginning, but what a long drawn-out ordeal! read more

I had a small nick in my BMW wheel. Took it there to be repaired. To make a long story, short they ruined the wheel with the coating process and had to do it over. Put a six inch crack around the bead of my rim. Crack went completely through the rim. They were able to repair the rim within a day at a reasonable price. The tire shop that found the crack could barely believe it had been repaired as it looked good as new. read more

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR WITH THEM!! They had my Porsche overnight while they worked on my set of wheels. When I got into my car after the work was done, I put my hands on the steering wheel and immediately felt grimey. I looked at my hands and they were black with filth left by the worker. I took a rag to the steering wheel and gear shift lever. I wish I could attach pictures to this review and show you how gross it was. Absolutely disgusting! Terrible shop. I dropped a set of high-end wheels off at American Polishing and Plating to get stripped and re-done. I was originally told they were going to chrome them for $500. Once arriving at the shop the story changed and the $500 was just polishing. I was assured they would not have any sanding scratches and that they would look exactly like chrome. "They'll be done in 7-10 days"... After 2 weeks I never got a message or call that my wheels were done so I called and asked how they were coming. "Sorry our head guy dropped his phone in water and a few of our polishers got sick, they will be done mid-week." I was finally told they were ready and went to pick them up. My wheels were sitting on the ground in the front office, the wheels were covered in polish and the material from the buffing pads. It looked like they just "finished" them as I was arriving.  They were missing the hardware and the boxes I dropped them off with. (I said I wanted the boxes back when dropping them off so transportation would be easier)  I asked where my hardware and boxes were and the guy said "You brought hardware in with them??" and "Ohh you wanted those boxes?" I had to show him a picture before someone brought my hardware out, all of it was destroyed and now I have to buy brand new. Only the face of the wheel was polished and it was done very poorly (The example I was showed had the back barrel polished as well) Very amateur work. I have used American Polishing and Plating over the years, usually for re-chrome, powder coating, or polishing stainless, any sort of trim for an old car or truck. The work was always top notch, and a fair price. I needed something a little different done. I wanted the name plaques from my son and nephew, polished; the years had discolored them so badly. I called just about every shop in town, some never called back others didn't want to be bothered, when I called American Polishing, they said bring them in and they would take a look. They gave me a fair price for polishing and powder coating them in clear. I have pictures of before and after. They might not be as big or fancy as the other guy, but worth finding. read more

I had been sold a really bad set of ZR1 aluminum replica wheels for my 88 Corvette by Ebay seller floridaspeedshop (Florida Speed Shop). Instead of the aluminum being shiny they had scratch marks like they did not finish the polish. I finally decided to bite the bullet and have it polished at American Polishing & Plating. I left the wheels and came back for them a few days later when they were ready. When I got there they weren't shiny. They looked the same with the same scratches. I asked what happened and the polisher tech came out and explained that the aluminum had been 'burned' by the original polisher that used the wrong polish and nothing could be done. I decided to go with American Polishing after a reasonable preliminary quote by text and a revised quote after further inspection of my parts. I needed a full front end grille chromed on a 1965 GMC Truck I'm restoring. After picking up the front end grille 2 weeks later and waiting another 10 days (due to a slight mishap on their part) for them to mail me its associated accessories, I do have to say that I am pleased with the quality of work performed on my 53 year old grille. I was able to repair the sensitive screw insert fittings that were damaged during the chroming process but I was expecting some minor damage to these sensitive parts. Considering the age of my parts and the end result, I am relieved, and ecstatic, that I have all my pieces nicely chromed and safely back in my hands getting ready for me to show off on my truck. Customer service does not get any better than this. We were driving from Phoenix to Vegas, hit a rock, had a flat and bent a $600 rim on a Friday afternoon. They stayed on the phone with me after hours (and many dropped calls through dead areas). Met us early Saturday am and repaired the rim. These folks are rockstars. Garbage!! If your looking for show quality?? look elsewhere.These people have a "drunk Russian" attitude and are very amateur. I took 4 wheels to them to have them polished. Quoted me $715.00. They told me 1 1/2 weeks, it took 4 weeks. The rims are "Work Emotion" brand. A high end, premium wheel made in Japan, that where originally powder coated white. Instead of chemical stripping the wheels, they used a heavy coarse blast media that pitted the metal on 2 of the rims that can still be seen after they polished them. Those 2 wheels need 15 plus 1/4oz weights to get balanced. And then they grind off all the labels! These are 1/4in raised label that says "Work" "Work Emotion" "Made in Japan".. Its simple, if you have a Snap-on wrench and you grind off the label and polish the wrench.. Is that still a Snap-on wrench?? Can you sell the wrench at Snap-on value?? WTF!!?? WHY WOULD YOU GRIND OFF THE EMBLEM!!?? They ruin my wheels. When i picked up the wheels, my frustration was clear.. After 20 minutes of arguing I gave up, paid $500 and left.. "Very shinny the wheels, you know like?" "Very nice these wheels yeah?" NO! NO! YOU RUIN MY WHEELS BRO!! read more

I've used this company on two separate occasions, both times the company did very substandard work. First time I had a bunch of scooter parts including the frame dropped off for powdercoat. They were supposed to be powdercoated candy blue and gold. Instead what I got was a burned purple color and greenish yellow color istead of gold. I knew I would never do business here again after that. Second time I had work done here was without my knowing. I dropped off a set of wheels to A1 plating to get powdercoated gloss black. Unknowing to me A1 Plating was in the middle of a move and did not have the EPA inspections done in time to start powdercoating again, so they suncontracted this company to do my wheels for me. Upon first inspection when picking them up they looked great, but once bringing the wheels home and inspecting them in detail before having the tires mounted, I saw that they did not even sandblast the wheels as they just sprayed powdercoat over the sticker residue left over from the wheel weights used to balance the wheel. In less than a year the powdercoat began to chip off as the wheels were not sandblasted and had no scuffing or rough surface to adhere to, exposing the previous silver coating of the wheel. I would recommend to anyone to NEVER do business with this company, there are better companies as I have found that actually do quality work, which this company does not know the meaning of, and actually charge a much better price. read more
