We had an 18 year old Chihuahua who lived a long, wonderful life. I was starting to believe he was going to be the first dog to cheat death itself. Alas, these past few months he had been declining rapidly, and after his last seizure, he didn't recover. He stopped eating, became incredibly disoriented, and we knew it was time to make the kindest and hardest decision a pet owner ever has to make. We called Gentle Goodbyes, and they were able to come to our home so our little guy could spend his final moments somewhere he was comfortable and surrounded by the people who loved him most. From the moment they arrived, they were compassionate, patient, and incredibly professional. They made sure he was comfortable and never made us feel rushed while we said our final goodbyes. They lit a candle in his memory, made a clay paw print for us on the spot, and gave us the time and space we needed to simply be with him. They somehow managed to strike the perfect balance of guiding us through the process while also allowing us to feel our grief without ever feeling like we were on a timeline. There are probably a hundred little things they did that I'm not able to articulate right now because I'm still grieving the loss of my best friend, but I knew I wanted to make sure I thanked them properly and gave them the five stars they deserve. No one ever wants to need a service like this, but if and when that day comes, I cannot recommend Gentle Goodbyes enough. They gave our sweet boy a peaceful, dignified farewell, and for that, I will be forever grateful.

Emerald Kennels has been a saving grace for us. Our dogs can be very high energy and being able to bring them in for doggy day camp is an absolute game changer! Both of our dogs are rescues. Cali has pretty bad separation anxiety, and Willow is a obsessive chewer, so it's just not a good idea to leave them home alone, and we refuse to board our dogs or use doggy daycares, as they feel safer and more comfortable in their own home, so pet sitters are the best option for us. Kristy was kind, definitely a dog lover, and hung out with them for a few hours, and both of our dogs were happy as could be when we got home. It looked like they were all watching a movie together when we arrived. :) Very relaxed and in good spirits. We were pleased with the service, and so were our dogs!
