There was an initial visit for all of us to get to know one another, and it was immediately clear that each person is a dog lover. Marty really enjoyed the attention! Throughout the month I was there, it was so nice to come home to a happy, relaxed dog and a note from one of the walkers. It gave me so much peace of mind to know that I could stay at work for an extra hour or so if needed, because Marty was taken care of during the day. Kristen was also very easy to get in touch with if I had any changes to the schedule. The prices are very reasonable, and the service overall is so worth it. Both of our dogs are rescues. Cali has pretty bad separation anxiety, and Willow is a obsessive chewer, so it's just not a good idea to leave them home alone, and we refuse to board our dogs or use doggy daycares, as they feel safer and more comfortable in their own home, so pet sitters are the best option for us. Kristy was kind, definitely a dog lover, and hung out with them for a few hours, and both of our dogs were happy as could be when we got home. I have had her take care of our pets many times since her initial visit, where she took command over our troublesome dog, and had him literally eating out of the palm of her hand. It's nice to know that there is someone in Boise who can confidently pursue a career in pet sitting and be personable and professional, not to mention affordable. This has been so much better than boarding our pets, and they get to remain in a comfortable environment, especially with the temperament of our male dog, who is quite protective over our smaller female dog. I signed up with the video cam and checked daily for proof of life. It would be really nice to get updates of daily activities as well as additional services paid for; i.e. walks, hikes, kong treats, etc...we got nothing. In addition, when we picked up our dog on the second boarding I had to ask for the blanket I left with our dog. When they brought it out they said that the blanket got wet from a water dish while our dog was playing with a toy in the kennel. When I got home I discovered that the blanket was actually soaked in urine. It makes me so sad to think that my dog had no choice other than to relieve himself on the blanket...something he would never do. On the first boarding, his dog bed was wet but I chalked it up to a kong treat he might have gotten. I normally do not write reviews but was so disappointed with the care that my dog got that I felt compelled to share. This place came highly recommended to me...unfortunately I can't say the same.

The cats' rooms are extremely clean and well-maintained. Each room also has an outdoor catio that cats have access to. The staff are friendly and well-informed about the cats. They also write notes on the walls within the rooms about each cat for visitors to reference to. Response time to emails is very fast and staff do well in assisting with issues, even after adoption has taken place. We adopted two cats and have had a great experience during and after the adoption process. We will definitely be visiting again the next time we choose to adopt another cat.

We live out in the mountains, so there is plenty of space to explore. We were rejected by this organization because we are "out of policy" I offered to provide references, vet references, pictures of our old cat, etc. We were emotionally engaged (at the start) with two little guys, and this place rejected me and offered me another cat. I am incredibly sad and nowhere on their website says they would "reject" me. This place will allow you to engage emotionally, only to reject you. Suggest going to Idaho Humane Society as they don't discriminate.

I've come here a few times and I have been happy with the quality of service. They are a little pricey but they seemed to be open to give approx quotes over the phone which I appreciated. I'm not 100% about this, but it appeared as though one of their exam rooms had an alternate, private exit. I think some vets are starting to implement this for families that have to put their animal down and don't want to walk through the waiting room in front of other people after the procedure is done. I'm not certain if this is actually a thing, but maybe ask them because if it is, I think it's a nice and thoughtful touch.

Having been a client with my bunnies since Covid, I had the recent disappointing and unacceptable…read morevisit with Dr. Lee. I could tell my Lop Ear who lives outside in a run with his buddy was definitely in trouble on Monday morning. He didn't come eagerly for his treat and was huddled down. Because weather was bad, I decided to bring him inside so I could watch him. I called Habitat to see if they could get him in. Dr. Lee was in surgery all day. The office person suggested I call Boise Animal Health and Urgent Care which I did. The person taking the call said they weren't expert bunny vets but, after I explained his critical symptoms, said to bring him in. Dr Jenkins was amazing. She listened to what treatment I was giving him based on what I reviewed on line. His condition appeared to be GI Stasis which can be deadly within 24 hours. They X-Rayed him, gave him a thorough exam, including a subcutaneous injection for moisture, some pain meds and told me they would email records to Habitat. Scout, my bunny continued to improve. On Thursday I had a previously scheduled routine visit at Habitat for my canary. They were very busy and I was thankfully immediately escorted to a room with my canary. Dr. Lee entered about 20 minutes late and did the routine visit with my canary. I had told the tech that I would like to have a few minutes to chat with Dr Lee about my rabbit Scout. I was told they would charge me for an additional visit. I said fine. When I tried to tell Dr. Lee about Scout she told me that she couldn't advise me about anything because they didn't have a file on him....which was correct. Emails received for patients not on file went to la la land (my words). I was on the verge of tears. Never mind that I had taken my old bunny Clove to their previous location for ultrasound and other pain relieving procedures during Covid. I never went inside the clinic. I met the tech Angie in the parking lot there who said he was the gentlest bunny ever. Never mind that I had taken in a bunny, Peter, who I found abandoned in the North End, and took him to Habitat to be neutered. He died coming out of anesthesia. I believe Dr. Lee was the surgeon. Never mind that Dr. Everett did minor surgery on my 4+ pound Netherland Dwarf Tinamarie. I was so worried about past experience with anesthesia. She did fine. And yesterday Dr.Lee couldn't spend five minutes with me about Scout because there was no file? Luckily the kind tech said I could set up a file for Scout on my way out which I did. The desk person set up the file and said she would request Scout's records immediately from Boise Animal Health and Urgent Care. I called BAHUC this morning. They said they had not received a request from Habitat but had their email address, would send records and copy me. I messaged Habitat. They received them. And that is the end. Sorry this review is so lengthy. I just wanted to share my frustration trying to get help with a clinic that I trusted for years with my bunnies.

From the moment she walked into the room, Bev was kind, compassionate, and genuinely invested in helping our dog. Even though this was an urgent care appointment, she went above and beyond in every way. She took the time to thoroughly evaluate our pup, performed an ultrasound to ensure nothing was being overlooked, and patiently answered all of our questions. At no point did we feel rushed. (Bonus points for getting our pup's nails trimmed during the visit, something we've deemed nearly impossible since our sweet girl has started to decline.) Over the years, we've seen specialists and veterinarians that required long waits for appointments, yet Bev was more thorough than many of those experiences. She made us feel confident that every appropriate step was being taken and that we were doing everything possible to give our dog the best care and quality of life. Unfortunately, the visit ended with difficult news. Even then, Bev handled the conversation with incredible empathy, kindness, and compassion. She helped us understand the situation while also reassuring us that we had been doing everything we could for our beloved dog. That meant more to us than we can adequately express. If you are looking for a veterinarian who is exceptionally knowledgeable, thorough, and deeply caring, we cannot recommend Bev Cochrane highly enough. We are so grateful for the time, attention, and compassion she showed our family during a very emotional and difficult day.

With over 30 years of experience as a Physician Assistant (PA) I checked him out and found a hematoma in his left year. I told my wife that maybe he was stung by a wasp/hornet and we should put an ice pack against the hematoma. After about 24 hrs we called our primary vet but they didn't have any walk-in appointments for at least one week. She said that she was going to try Ada Veterinary. I reminded her of the negative/lack of ethics by by Brianna Malaki that we had with about 5 years ago. She said she didn't care as Rasta needed to be seen immediately. I drove her up but refused to enter the veterinary office. They said that Rasta broke his cartilage with caused bleeding enough to cause his left ear to drop. They gave him a "No Flap Ear Wrap" and charged her over $500.00 and said she needed to him Monday next week (No Flap Ear Wrap can be bought for $49 on Amazon). The wife brought him for another $200 and was told to bring him the following Monday (today). Had my appointment 12:45 pm went in and was led to an appointment room by Kyra. I informed her that this was Rasta third visit and being 10 y/o I didn't want a thing done to him. She said she understood and then grabbed Rasta and went to leave. I asked where she was going with him and she commented the vet wanted to him in "back". I reminded her that I didn't want any care. After about waiting 20 minutes I open the door and asked the secretary where Rasta was at. She said he was back with the veterinarian and they were discussing what needed to be down. I immediately got pissed and said I never gave my consent to have them do any treatment on him.. Before I knew it there five Vet Techs surrounding me and I repeated that I never gave them permission to do anything to Rasta that is one of that said that's how we do things!! I explained I was a PA are there are two types of consent; implied and given. I explained that he was awake and alert, so it could not be implied. I told the to get Rasta and the told me that had to figure out my bill. I grabbed Brenda Malick's business out of that card holder and said she is unethical and a crook. Through it all not was a veterinarian present to address anything with me. They apparently are spineless and let their staff handle it. Contacting the State of Idaho and filing a formal complaint.

Thank God for Zen Pet Care Services!!!! My amazing husband gave me and then an amazing Christmas gift that just keeps giving:) He noticed the daily stress I was going through having to race home at lunch to walk Tuffy, my restless bulldog and racing home straight after work too. So he set up Zen Pet Care Services to come every day and walk Tuffy for an hour every day! They would even text me pics of Tuffy's daily adventures and now I eat my lunch in peace and I come home to a resting, tired dog rather than the stir crazy Barker that I used to. They walk him(sometimes Tuffy even reaches his version of "run", human version-speed walk at max:) and then to the dog park for some off the leash social time. Excellent experience from start to finish. My husky has tons of energy and can be difficult during walks, but they handled him so well. After a few training sessions, he started listening better and stopped pulling as much. The staff is friendly, caring, and clearly loves animals. I can't say enough good things about Zen Pet Cares. My golden retriever, Daisy is a pretty high energy dog and a bit anxious around new people, but Chris and his team put her at ease. They took the time to get to know her and now she absolutely loves her group hikes - she jumps for joy when the van pulls up! We used Zen Pet Services over this recent Christmas Holiday and we were extremely happy with the experience. We had some inconvenient & delayed flight times to/from Boise however Chris & Elisha were very accommodating. They exercised our dog 2X's a day, sent daily updates and were very responsive and easy to work with. We highly recommend them and will definitely use them again in the future. read more

They have been wonderful for our pup! We booked a few overnight pet-sitting and fitness sessions, and everything was handled with care and professionalism. They send daily updates and photos, pick up and drop off on time, and genuinely love animals. You can tell they customize the care to each dog's personality and fitness level. Super professional and reliable. I was a bit nervous because my rescue can be skittish with new men, but Chris has this really calm energy that she took to immediately. He's like a dog whisperer. I used to pick up said complicated pup from boarding and felt so guilty that he was so stressed even though he was familiar. After spending time at Happy Tails, he acts like he's moved in and has to say his goodbyes before he leaves! Night and day difference, and it brings a lot of comfort knowing they both genuinely feel safe and loved even if they're not at home. Emerald Kennels has been a saving grace for us. Our dogs can be very high energy and being able to bring them in for doggy day camp is an absolute game changer! There was an initial visit for all of us to get to know one another, and it was immediately clear that each person is a dog lover. Marty really enjoyed the attention! Throughout the month I was there, it was so nice to come home to a happy, relaxed dog and a note from one of the walkers. It gave me so much peace of mind to know that I could stay at work for an extra hour or so if needed, because Marty was taken care of during the day. Kristen was also very easy to get in touch with if I had any changes to the schedule. The prices are very reasonable, and the service overall is so worth it.
