Greg has done most of my husband's ink so he's always great to work with. I was also happy that while we were figuring out placement Greg gave some pointers that helped us decide the best placement. The shop is clean and there are some well lit spots for taking photos. I love my newest piece and it was small enough that it only took about 20 minutes for the whole thing. Both artists are easy to work with. A customer came in while Greg was still working on my husband and she was a bit demanding in her communication, but Greg was calm and worked with her to schedule and appointment.

He has a new shop by the river instead of Natomas. We agreed on a price based on a full day ($900) and half day ($600) sessions. These are also the advertised pricing at the time on his business' website. So I setup an appointment for the following week to complete a full sleeve. I already have an existing outer upper right arm tattoo. First appt was for a half day and paid the $200 deposit to secure the appt. The inner upper arm and partial lower arm were done. After the session, paid remaining balance plus another $200 deposit securing another appt. Second appt was a few days later for a full day to complete the lower arm and partial shoulder. This session was completed in 8 hours. When it was time for payment, Ryan jacked up to 2x the agreed consultation price. I asked why it is now more from our agreed price during consultation and his reason was "the consultation price already expired and it is custom work". I paid it anyways because I don't want any issue and end up in jail. Ryan's reason for 2x the agreed price during consultation was bs and false advertisement!! What else work would it be, he does freehand design as agreed during consultation. It seems he got greedy as I shared with him my future vacation/trip plans during our conversations and he figured to charge me more. The ink work itself is ok - very mid, not great! He missed and I pointed out some key spots. I actually need some touch-ups work but I won't be going back to his shop! I also wanted to get a full sleeve on my left arm but he then wanted to charge me 3x ($3500) from the agreed consultation price. Fuck that!!! I cancelled my remaining appts!! I went to another shop in Las Vegas for 1/3 of his price and the ink work at the Vegas shop was way more high quality! So again I CANNOT recommend Ryan Coastal Ink unless you wanna get scammed.
