I can't speak highly enough about Raul. He took my idea and executed it so far beyond my expectations. The coloring is absolutely beautiful. He was patient, kind and respectful

My and my friend got our birth flowers together and it was a walk in. That had us in and out in about 1.5-2hrs, and had us done at the same time. It all came out to 150 each. Definitely recommend this for sure.

this was the first time for me getting a Tattoo. I was slightly nervous but Mario was excellent. he made me feel very comfortable and guided me through the process. answered all my questions. he uses vegan ink which is great. he also made a video for my husband explaining how to take care of my tattoo. I highly recommend him. will be back again for my second one soon.

I came here for my first tattoo and Josh (I think his name is Josh) was amazing! He completely understood the sentimental value that me and my best friend were going for, and executed it perfectly! I've already recommended this place to another one of my friends! Thanks so much!

Got my first tattoo at this shop. I showed a reference image to the lady at the front desk, who directed me to Raul. He said he could do it, gave me an estimate, and said we could get started immediately if I was ready. Fifteen minutes later and I was on the table. Raul (@raulcruz26 on intsa) did a GREAT job, adding some shading after I vaguely described what I wanted. I am so glad I trusted him--the final product is better than I ever imagined. The healing process was easy and painless. Thanks man!

The rave reviews about River City and about piercer & tattoo artist, Mac, were not exaggerated! My daughter & I were in town a couple days ago for the kickoff of Depeche Mode's Memento Mori tour. The day after the show, with a few hours to enjoy Old Town before our flight back to Salem, we read reviews for a number of ink/piercing parlors in the area and settled on River City. The place is super clean, lots of natural light, really comfortable chill decor & vibe. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Mac thoroughly explained her process while doing my daughter's brow piecing and provided clear aftercare instructions. Mac then looked at the screenshots I had for my DM ink design, worked up a sketch that I was super happy with and we got to work. I really love my new ink! Thanks, Mac! Great experience, would totally return here!

Located at this historic Lawrence Warehouse (built way back in the 1910's) and directly on R St. and tucked in between 11th & 12th Sts, WAL which is an acronym of "Warehouse Artist Lofts" became the focal point as this indoor area accommodates and operates various businesses year-round. Here, you will find a broad collection of small independently owned businesses that include "Fish Face Poke Bar", "MediumRare Records & Collectibles", "Shop Old Gold" (clothing), "bsR brand" (designer clothing), "Kechmara Designs" (Moroccan rugs), "Roderick Cooney Photography", and "Warehouse Artist Lofts" which showcase creative artist spaces for people that wish to live and be a part of this community experience. Additionally, there are several other small businesses that offer food & drink options which makes it an excellent one-stop shop. I will say that public access is readily available as normal business hours run from 8am-9pm Monday through Saturday and 11am-9pm on Sunday. Parking is surprisingly not too bad as I've been fairly lucky in the 10+ various times visiting here. However, it does get quite busy during the morning and lunch rush so keep that in mind. I also wanted to add that there are public restrooms (which require a code) but any WAL employee will be happy to provide that code to you. All in all, "WAL Public Market" is a truly unique, innovative, and rewarding experience. Whether you wish to indulge in an espresso drink, a poke bowl, a vinyl record, a vintage shirt, this place offers things that you can't find elsewhere. With the dazzling and eclectic creativity that went into this renovation and the surprisingly uplifting service I've received here over the years, I am giving this market an above average four-star rating.

Currently on display is a wonderful exhibit by Ann Mitchell called "Meditative Spaces Found While Traversing The Razor's Edge". I'm not sure I found deep meaning in each and every piece but for me, art is about feeling something when you look at it, and that happened with many of Ann's prints. This particular exhibit is on display through April 4th. Viewing the gallery is free, but a donation is recommended and accepted. While everything in Ann's exhibit was out of my price range, I did enjoy the smaller displays located in the corners of the gallery. They offered less expensive prints covering a large variety of subjects. Really affordable and would make an excellent gift or display piece in any home. I can see why they don't have music, but some sort of audio track would have been welcome in the gallery.
