A few people were sitting at the bar and it instantly gave me a neighborhood locals / industry night feel. They were all welcoming and the bartender was very accommodating and patient. I happened to sit next to an employee who helped me navigate their list and made some great recommendations. Some of the prices were very reasonable compared to other parts of the country and some were not (as to be expected). This is a great place to try some vintage dusty bottles and unique pours. Their batch cocktails weren't bad at all either. The space is very cool, but sadly I wasn't able to check out the bottle shop as it was closed (late in the evening). One customer assumed my friend was looking for an ATM and said it in a making fun of kind of way, had I overheard that I would've said something, I was further up checking out the whole place and the bar. We go to sit at the bar and browse their very limited cocktail menu. My friend orders an Appletini like drink, I order something with the name Garbage in it, came with a Red Bull. Unbeknownst to me I was supposed to turn the Red Bull can upside down in the drink. According to the bartender she didn't want to come off as rude if she were to tell me to do that. I don't like RB anyway. Even though the place was redone and looks great on the inside, the environment is not very welcoming of new/not regular customers. I learned of this bar last fall when my dad and I threw a co-birthday party (he turned 70 and of course I was turning 21 for the 20th time, ha!) and since it's his favorite neighborhood watering hole we decided to host it there. All I can say is I have zero regrets! First of all, the folks that work here are very nice and while they obviously know whether you're a regular or not...they welcome you and treat you kindly either way. The drink prices are hard to beat too! They might not have the fanciest beverages in town but if you can't find something to sip on here then I think you should just stay home. Ok, here's the part I'd rather not tell you about but I guess I will just to give more props to Old Rascals. They have karaoke on 2 nights every week. Yep!! And the karaoke dude, Steve, is truly a gem! He's super nice and makes you feel like you're part of the family. I'm serious. I mean I feel like I'm ready for American Idol based on his complimentary reactions to my performances. Oh, and even if there is a long list of singers (which there often is), he is fair with the rotation. What a nice relief for a karaoke bar, AMIRIGHT?!? The catalog of songs is basically infinite as far as I can tell, and if he doesn't know a song he'll let you help him search for it...because he wants YOU TO BE HAPPY! There are 2 microphones for your use, one of which is wireless. He even brings cleaning wipes in case you're a bit of germ-a-phobe and want to clean the mic off for your turn. Of course, if you aren't into karaoke it's still a chill little spot to pop into for a drink or two when you're not trying to go wild on the nightlife scene. Everyone who hangs out here is friendly. The place was not crowded at all, which was nice, because it gave us a chance to really see what it has to offer. I was the only female in the place that night, so I am guessing the men to women ratio is high ;) When you walk in you will be surprised to see how clean this place is! The bartender was so friendly and made me feel welcome. They have 2 dart boards and a shuffle board/bowling machine, which was really fun. Friday and Saturdays is karaoke, and another night of the week, I believe Tuesday is trivia night. If you play Keno they also have that. This is a neighborhood bar where they treat you like a friend and you can get a cheap beer. I am going back to check out karaoke this weekend.

But it's large enough to hold a crowd of perhaps 40 people comfortably, large enough to have a pool table, and it has decent sounding speakers playing your songs off of the TouchTunes Jukebox. It does have several mounted television usually showing sports as well. The place is laid out what brings to mind a shotgun house- you step in and what you see straight back against the far wall is it. But it brings people a bit closer and with the varying types of crowds that sometimes show up, it's nice to mingle with people you normally wouldn't with at a larger bar. Left Field Lounge has many beer bottles but also has a rotating selection of multiple beers on tap including some craft beer. I've been served by different bartenders and service from all of them has been exceptional. They've answered questions when I was unsure about certain beers, and they've had some great recommendations and given me samples to make sure I would like the choice. And they have all been really kind people persons. The place could use a bit of upgrades, it's a bit of an older place, but it has all that's needed to have a good time. Music, TV, a pool table, and if there is no one else around, the bartenders make great conversation if you need it!
