    Great patio

Love the ambiance of this place, you can smell the wood when you walk in and the theme is so well done from the decor to drinks to the menu item names. Nice patio in the back! Bartenders and food runner were nice. Love the drinks they seem upscaled from the generic Tiki drinks we are used to. The Pina Colada, and Rum Runner come in really cute glassware and are just so good! YachtSea dog was very good but glad I got the gochujang ketchup on the side because wow it packed a punch but if you like spice you will enjoy it! Recommend to give it a try!

I was excited to bring some out of town guests to this fun nautical themed bar , as I had stopped in a prior weekend without ordering as the bar was packed , making note that I must stop in again. I will have to give it another try, as when my group of 6 went in on a Sunday, the service was frankly abysmal. We walked in, and were the only ones in the bar on a Sun afternoon, the bar was empty and one bartender working. We were not greeted and we sat down at a large table near the bar. After 5 min of not being acknowledged, we decided to grab our own drink menus. We then each individually ordered at the bar and carried our own drinks back. We were never greeted nor asked how our drinks were. Lastly, when settling up, we had to ask for the bartender's attention as she was watching the movie on one of the TVs. Again, the bar was completely empty (a few people on the outside patio). The drinks were good and the decor is fun, but the service put a sour note on our experience. We finished one round of drinks and went elsewhere.

What the heck is YachtSea, and can I visit again immediately!?!? YachtSea is tucked into a cozy spot around the corner from many of the Butcher Block businesses on Main Street near NuLu. If you don't know to look for it, you might miss it. It only has a small sign on what looks like a house, but don't let it's quiet exterior fool you. The inside is a jaunty as a TikTok-viral sea shanty. It actually looks like the inside of a ship on the inside. The owners took their time to give this spot a fun personality. My friends and I chose to sit near the bar in a booth. We started with drinks, naturally. I got a Royal Hawaiian Mai Thai, which was the bit of ocean life this landlocked Kentuckian was craving. It was fruity while also not skimping on the spirits. I also enjoyed an Any Port Any Storm, which was like a Kentucky mule with grenadine. The food, while being more of the snacking variety, also impressed. I started with the Yacht Sticks, which is their version of mozzarella sticks tossed in their signature, delicious "Yachtseasoning." I would definitely get these again! And I had to give a hot dog off their "On A Roll" section of their menu a try. (If you go, definitely take some time with the menu -- it's a work of restaurant art as well.) I got the Yacht Dog, which is made with IPA beer cheese, fried onions, gochujang ketchup, papaya mustard and pickle spear. Who knew a hot dog could be magical!?! I'm using lots of interrobangs in this review but that's just because I came away agog at how much of a fun surprise this spot was. Everything came out fast and surpassed any expectations we had. While I like to go new places when I get a chance to eat out, I would definitely love to come here again and more importantly bring new people to experience it too.

Our favorite new bar to grab a snack and cocktail. YachtSea serves boat drinks, fancy hot dogs and oysters. They have bar, booth, table & patio seating. I follow them on Instagram to be in the know about specials they are running. We go for the drinks and chips and dip. They fry the chips fresh in house. The dip of the day rotates... so check Instagram or the chalkboard for the daily special. Our favorite dips are the chipotle cheddar & garlic Parmesan. My husband and I order the frozen Piña Colada to split. The piña colada is a blend of coconut 2 ways, pineapple, 3 rums, some secret ingredients and served frozen in a can. Then we each explore the menu and get our own boat drink. Every cocktail we have tried uses fresh ingredients & has great flavors. Our favorite cocktail so far is "Any Port. Any Storm". Can't go wrong with a bourbon porch pounder cocktail. Our service has been great on both visits. Happy to have this great addition to the Louisville food & cocktail scene!

The most unlikely pairing--hot dogs and piña colada's--but still such a fun vibe! YachtSea really went full send on the theme. From the bar design to the bathroom sound effects, the minute you walk inside you feel like you're on a boat. The kimchi disco fries were amazing. Piña colada is served in a coconut milk can and had a rich interesting flavor. Def a fun spot to check out with friends!

What a rare find! "Boat drinks," but well executed and not overly sweet. These guys clearly know what they are doing and are experienced, expert bartenders who just happen to have a bar that is themey, but in the best possible way! We only had a chance to have the chips and dip, but those and the drinks were so excellent, we went back for a second night in a row while we were still in Louisville. We planned our restaurant choice around proximity to YachtSea! We loved the chips, we loved the drinks, we loved the people, we loved the music, we loved the vibe. Absolute 10/10!!! If this place was in our town, it would be our regular hang.

We celebrated a friend's birthday at YachtSea tonight. We were a group of 10, so we ordered a variety of apps and hot dogs. Everything was great. The portions were good, the food was solid, and the drinks were strong. Service was quick and everyone was super friendly. The inside was cute and patio was nice, too. We'll definitely be back!

Great ambiance: you certainly feel like you're in a boat! Lighting was thoughtful, dim but not too dark. Lots of wood...and portholes! Music was a a fun mix of yacht rock, punk, glam, afrobeat, and exotica. Cocktails were tropical and boozy and complimented the vibes. Hot dogs were well curated and super tasty! And they went well with the oysters. Service came with a smile and some killer recommendations. Order at the bar.

We visited here for our 21st Wedding Anniversary!…read more Great ambience and plenty of room in the different areas. Drink/wine selection is top notch- we went with the Pinot Noir. Started with the crab dip- great flavor and texture, fresh scallions and shaved cheese which helped build up the crab flavor- even got extra bread for the dip since it was a good sized portion, Baby green salad- fresh, crisp lettuces, cucumbers and tomatoes in a vinaigrette Bacon wrapped pork loin was flavorful and tender on the inside while the bacon was crispy and cooked to perfection. The highlight was the squash - almost like a veggie lasagna. Char grilled cab ribeye- cookedto perfection (medium rare) with potatoes. Balsamic fingerling potatoes- while they had agreat taste and texture- little too sweet. Finished with a key lime pie- heaven in a pie crust- great key lime flavors, meringue was to perfection!

Food: Cornbread- unexpected. This was the free bread corse for the table but it was not expected. This didn't come out until after we ordered our meal. Definitely burnt my mouth because I was impatient Hawaiian Fish- Big portions! It is true when they say that everything is bigger in the south! The fish was light and free of the fishy scent. The rice was a bit mushy from the cook and the addition of sauce. Angus Filet Mignon- standard. The filet was cooked nicely and the lobster compound butter was a nice touch. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and without exaggeration, they were the best I've ever had. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the balance of textures throughout the dish was incredible. Every bite had the perfect amount of crunch, flavor, and toppings. Nothing felt overwhelming or out of place. It was one of those meals where you find yourself slowing down just to enjoy every bite. Even the water deserves a mention. It was clean, crisp, and refreshing. If it came straight from the tap, I would have never known. It's a small detail, but it speaks to the overall dining experience when even something as simple as water stands out. The service was great, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. It's easy to see why this restaurant has built such a strong reputation. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 comes down to accessibility. As a person with a disability, parking can make or break a dining experience. Unfortunately, there was no handicap parking available, and there were no nearby parking spots open when I arrived. I ultimately had to park in a hotel lot about a block away, which cost $25 for just two hours. Not only was the cost frustrating, but the additional distance was challenging given my mobility needs. The food was phenomenal and absolutely worth trying, but I do hope accessibility becomes part of the conversation for future guests. For those without mobility concerns, this may not be an issue, but for disabled patrons, it's something important to consider before visiting.

Kylie was our bartender and she was fabulous - knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all of our questions with patience. Wife ordered a mango margarita and doesn't like a lot of tequila, so Kylie went half and gave her a shot on the side in case she wanted to add more. It was wonderful. I had a couple of beers. We started with the fried mushrooms, which aren't what you would expect. It's two large portobellos cut into chunks, battered, fried, and served with sun-dried tomato mayo. They were great. I then ordered a duck taco, brisket taco, and a side of Grippo Fries with smoked mayo. I'd never tried duck but that taco was smack-a-lackin'. The brisket taco was also good, and the fries were fantastic - sweet and spicy, fresh cut, and crispy. Wife ordered a pork belly slider and truffle fries. She enjoyed the slider but didn't care for the fries - just not her thing. The portions here are large. A side of fries will feed three people. We took a hefty portion of them home, as well as some of the mushrooms. We could've sat there at the bar and spent 3 hours socializing and enjoying a smattering of cocktails - love the setting. Look forward to going back and trying one of the burgers at some point.

There were many seats at the bar as well as couch and chair areas. They also have bathrooms down there. Service was outstanding. We had a bourbon flight and some cocktails. Our server even took group pics for us. He also provided menus so we could be prepared for dinner. When our table was ready, we reconciled our check and headed back upstairs. Upstairs, we had amazing service also. I ordered a cocktail that they had on the downstairs menu, and not the regular menu. It did not faze our server. He said he would figure it out- and he did! After a round of drinks, we stayed with appetizers: meatballs, fritto misto, piatto di frutti di mare and the crab cake. Everything was devoured. I loved the crab cake and the meatballs. The fried calamari was pretty standard and the cold seafood platter was fine- I had an oyster off of it. For dinner, I had the "Pappardelle" : short rib ragu alla bolognese, grano padano, and added two seared scallops. Wow. The pasta is homemade. It was phenomenal. My husband had the "Maiale" : 16oz pork chop, cauliflower puree, chard, stone fruit, bourbon glaze. It was a large portion and cooked perfectly. So good. Our friends had steaks and sides, so I was able to try the Mac and cheese- which did not get congealed! The corn was delicious and the mushrooms were a variety. Of course we had dessert. I asked for cannoli and they had it! They weee not soggy. I had three different favors. I love cannoli. These were really good. We also shared the millionaire's tart and some sort of apple crumble with ice cream. Yum. We had more round of drinks throughout including some fun ones - see the treasure chest video. I would recommend this place. They have a great menu. Drinks were awesome. Service topped everything. They went out of their way for us multiple times. Thanks so much. Hubby took me to one of the oldest steakhouses in town last fall, and even with three adults, the bill was noticeably lower than what we spent at this establishment. Service here gets a solid 5 stars -- everyone was attentive and personable. Ambience earns a strong 4 stars with a nice vibe that fits the area. The menu itself is intriguing, and every dish we ordered came out at the right temperature and well‑executed. Overall flavor was good. The desserts, however, didn't quite match the caliber we hoped for -- though to be fair, we're not professional food critics, so take that for what it's worth. Not sure yet if we'd return. If we did, it'd probably be with a larger group so we could share the dishes we enjoyed and make the price point feel a little more balanced. That said, the location is perfect for out‑of‑towners staying at the nearby hotels and those hitting the area's higher‑end entertainment spots.

Four of us had an excellent experience for our dinner in Louisville, and besides the food, a lot of that experience was due to our server, Julie. She was great, super friendly and professional, and expertly answered a ton of Bourbon-related questions from my Bourbon loving friend. My wife and I dove into the Southern theme and had a Pulled Pork Sandwich ($16), Southern Colada ($16), Fried Green Tomatoes ($10), and a Southern Gumbo ($10) for dinner. I ordered the Fried Gren Tomatoes to share with the table, and they were wonderful - "Five full moon green tomatoes fried in cornmeal and panko, topped with fresh chives and served with Doc's Remoulade". They were light as a feather, most definitely non-greasy and had a great crunch from the panko and cornmeal. My Southern Gumbo (A hearty stew filled with andouille sausage, chicken and vegetables in savory Cajun broth served over rice. Served with cornbread) was excellent. Great flavor, great spice, plenty of sausage and chicken, and excellent accompaniments in the rice and cornbread. And how could I not mention my Southern Colada, with Michter's US*1 Sour Mash, Pineapple Juice & Coconut. It was quite a bit stronger than any Colada I ever had, but I guess that can be expected when you use an 86-proof small batch Kentucky whiskey in your Colada. Of course, I loved it. This was our second visit to Doc Crow. We were there a few days ago as the first stop on our Louisville food tour and enjoyed a delicious bowl of shrimp and grits. The Doc sure treated us well. I don't know if this is a thing they do at Doc Crow's, but in my opinion the bartender excessively kept asking me what I wanted even while I was still looking at the menu. This definitely frustrated me since it was clear that I wasn't ready yet. I think she should have done a better job reading my cues to figure out when I am ready to order.
