The room is dimly lit with a couple of couches and cushy seats, including those massage chairs you find in nail salons. (I don't know how people find them comfortable or relaxing.) Guests are invited to refuel with coffee and snacks that the center purchases with donations -- there's a kitty at the door -- and items provided by local vendors. We munched on popcorn and passed time watching the Olympics. The people who work there -- I'm assuming volunteers -- are very friendly. The lounge is a nice addition to the airport. They close at about 10 p.m.

Hey there, I stopped in recently at the DTW location. I fly 200 days a year so I greatly appreciate these little reprieves. With today's human condition we are soooo quick to complain I try to point out good service when I experience it. I want to give some recognition to Ms. Tina who was working the morning I popped in. I'm sure it has been hectic for her and all the other airport workers this week with the weather and flight issues so I understand when people are less than 100% but Ms. Tina was AMAZING! She was welcoming, patient, sweet, helpful and a fantastic representative for your company. I left behind a small item that she could have easily tossed out (some wonderful oranges and a phenomenal piece of cheesecake- HA HA)- I came back an hour or so later and she had held it in case I came back. If there is any way to show her some appreciation or give her some recognition please do on my behalf. Her energy was true and authentic, and I'm sure she represents herself and your company this way every day!

There are floor to ceiling widows everywhere, so there is lots of natural light in this area. Nice for parents: There's a little play area just steps from this lounge. So you can enjoy a drink and your kids can play. I got a Founders beer on tap, which is local to Michigan. They also have seven or eight other beers on draught, as well as wine and cocktails. I had the opportunity to visit it for the first time, and because it was not crowded, it made for a pleasant experience. I had already visited a Delta Sky Club in Chicago in the morning, so knew another visit on my layover would not additionally cut into my allocation of fifteen for the year. Both my arriving and departure flights were in terminal A. The delta app will give real-time crowdedness, and it was clear that the 4 lounges in A were quite busy, with some having queues. It was a 2 hour layover, and my inbound flight was early, so decided to take the upper level train to get there. The train just goes back forth from one end of Terminal A (gates A1 - A28; gates A56 - A78). The middle stop is for baggage claim and also has an underground tunnel that goes to Terminal B & C (it's about a 10 minute walk). The lounge is relatively small with a tiny bar (the soda fountain needs to be operated by the bartender) and small buffet area. All three beers on tap were available as complementary so got the tangerine wheat, and the simple curry chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans was good. Glad I stopped by for a late lunch. Just had to remember to leave with plenty of time to catch the boarding call for my connecting flight in Terminal A.

It's divided into two rooms: one with coffee and alcohol, and the other with a small buffet. The food selection was fairly limited, so I wouldn't plan on having a full meal here. The beverage offerings were better, with self-serve beer, liquor, mixers, and a coffee machine. I enjoyed a few cafe Americanos topped off with Irish cream and Jack Daniel's Not the best lounge but it was clean, comfortable, and a decent place to relax before our flight.

I love watching all of the "behind the scenes" activity as planes arrive and luggage is unloaded then loaded up again, technicians scurry around and check the aircraft, and the food service truck rolls in with snacks for the flight. This lounge has always been clean, the buffet is well stocked, and the signature fragrance wafts through the air. Staff is friendly and helpful, and it's always possible to get a comfortable seat. Highly recommend checking this lounge out if you have access and free time!

This terminal has 4-5 Delta Sky Club lounges, and this one (near gate A18) was the closest near my gate. I made a quick stop a few Monday evenings ago to grab a small bite before my flight. Getting in was really easy, and there was essentially no line. The lounge is spacious and I had ample seats to choose from. There was a decent variety of food, but sadly, I didn't have enough time to sample all of it. I quickly grabbed a bit of mashed potatoes, pita & hummus, chickpea salad, and Swedish meatballs. Besides the chickpea salad, everything was unbearably salty. I ate half of the meatball and was unable to eat much more. Overall, food was just OK. At least the food tasted fresh and there was plenty of space, which cannot be said for other lounges.

I like that their Starbucks carries the Discovery series mugs that I collect for my partner. And they had different versions. For some reason, I didn't expect to have to catch a shuttle to get my rental car. So, you should plan for that. Once you get your luggage, you'll have to follow the signs to an area across the arrival/departure roads, down the escalator, and to your designated area. There's plenty of signage. The bus/shuttle ride is about 15-20 minutes away. I also like the number of commuter counters they have. You know, those high-top tables where you can pull out your laptop and work, those. They had several throughout the airport.

On this trip, however, I experienced a significant delay, which highlighted one area where the airport could improve. For an airport of this size, the shopping and entertainment options feel fairly limited. When you're facing a long delay, there isn't much to do beyond finding a place to eat or grabbing a drink, and the food and beverage prices are what you'd expect from an airport. If you're simply passing through on schedule, DTW is a pleasant and efficient airport. But when delays happen, the lack of activities and retail options can make the wait feel much longer.

Would not have been an issue, except would have like to have used a lounge in the other terminal but did not want to go through security again and take a shuttle to the other terminal. Used my Priority Pass at Gameway for snacks and drinks and a foot massage at Be Relax. Security was a breeze even though the TSA Pre-check was down. A cute airport.
