This place may not be as large as fins or as rowdy, but it definitely captures the Irish vibe perfectly. I came in here for a marketing event. I sat down on our barstool, avoiding the mixing and mingling across the way. I ordered a Jamison. Is there anything else in an Irish bar? An acquaintance came up and ordered a Guinness... It's really the only other acceptable drink in an Irish bar. The service was astounding. I had a ticket for a free drink, even with a free drink ticket. I didn't get a light watered down pour. And then some. Jake's is located on near the southeast corner of UT's main campus. You can balk at the neighborhood, but it's fine by me. Not sure if I'd walk home while being TOO drunk, though. Service was fine. I'd say it was good, actually. The friendly barmaid was initially delayed as she in the midst of making shots for the 6 or 7 broskis sitting at a table.
