Very sweet people who works there. Main dishes are always so much I share with my friend. They're kind enough to always be able to split it for us. We are full for tw people just under 20$. They're breakfast menu is all day long, which I adore since there's not really an ihop near. They have daily specials which are great with discounts. My family and I been going to restaurant for a longtime. My husband and I like this dinner very much when were out during on our teenage, college and now; we had spend so much time eating and the service always was great. Lifelong member of this neighborhood/community, which means I have been going to the Archview since I was a child. It was a great place to stop for breakfast or a hot meatloaf sandwich - be it 10am or 10pm. When I saw it was being remodeled I thought ok..mqybe news booths etc. What a remodel. This one meant remodel of hours- 6am til 230pm. Remodel of menu- someone took a few minutes to type something out, take out 2/3 of the previous menu, and double the prices on everything. We were seated and sat for 5- 10min before someone asked if we were being taken care of and brought us menus. Set up inside is all redone. Definitely less seating and space. Tables and chairs are ontop of one another, even where hostess/cashier station is. Coffee drinker here.. black coffee is all I need. Didn't even finish a cup. This should have been a red alarm and wish I would have left right then. No more greek toast and assortment of jams. Sandwiches give you option of 2 soups...not soup or salad. Blt was the flimsiest thing ever. Fries are some curled potato skins that are deep fried and are all crisp...weird taste as well. Left them on table. Skillet was less food than normally would be served. I even asked for no egg skillet. Price should have shown that too. Although people in booth behind us seemed to get many things comped. Wish I would have read the negative reviews on here from people that dined here before the new owners. One less american cuisine restaurant in Bridgeport/McKinley area. I have been going to this restaurant for years . 35 to be exact . The last time I went here the food and service was not what I had previously had. Some times u may think it's the cook on that day.... Well to tonight I went there for dinner and the food was absolutely horrible . It was bland and cold to be exact . Not the Archview everyone knows. This is a little dive bar on the corner of Archer and Ashland with the same name...hard to find, perfect hideout. Its got a car wash right next door, just give them your keys and go to the bar and have a few, its perfect. Inside is nothing special...like I said..."DIVE BAR", so don't expect much. This doesn't even deserve a star. My daughter surprise me by coming in and she said let go to archview . I said ok haven't been there in years. Well it was the worst (the waitress was great) it was this older man who sat people down was not nice we were there first this lady cut in front and I try to tell him we were first. he didn't care. My daughter and I order the gyro plate it was TERRIBLE AWFUL it was not real meat it was process meat they charge all that money for 3 pieces of process meat. My grandson order hungry man breakfast it was thrown on a plate and a ripe of piece of ham thrown on up. Down there not worth it. The price there charging is insane to pay for that. read more

It was very poor experience, owners are unprofessional, inhospitable and poorly trained staff. They were afraid to talk to me to solve a problem even they owed and apology. Food was mediocre. I come here often because it has a nice, calm, and relaxing atmosphere. The booths and tables are big enough so it never feels crowded when sitting. I come here for breakfast most of the time and I always get the 2 eggs with 2 sausage links and they are always consistent. The owners are very nice. Servers are very nice and attentive. I can always come here for late night munch, since it's right off the 55 highway. I think the service is friendly. The portions are huge! Even I can't finish an order of theirs. the only bad thing I believe about this restaurant is that a lot of people that go there smokes. I don't believe in smoking and allowing that. read more

The food is a million times better than the Huck Finn down the street. Try getting soup from Hucks @ 11 PM..they won't have any. Archview will never tell you that the soup has run dry. I recommend the Chicken Quesadillas, Breaded Pork Tenderloin, Turkey Melt the Godmother, and even the meatloaf. Stay away from the pasta though..the sauce is not good. Anything on the breakfast menu is a winner as well. Those reviewers who moaned about grease and death need to look themselves in the mirror because there are many healthy options to choose from as well. read more

I feel this is on the same level as Huck's. The only difference is that Huck's does not have incompetent idiots behind the register. I went with my friend and had some breakfast, we had a water and a coffee and for some reason the lady who manages the register misread the bill to add a coke to my half of the bill. I noticed that my bill was higher than i expected and showed her. Frustrated at her own mistake she is rude and begrudgingly voids my friends bill! She then takes my cards and bills me again for the correct amount. It wasn't until she had done all of this that we realized her mistakes. We tried to explain it to her but it was akin to talking to a brick wall. Honestly I feel I would have been more successful with the wall. The manager comes up to see what's wrong and explains to me that banks charge the tip much later and that's why I have two pending transactions. Even with my bank app on my phone in his face, they refused to give me back my money and were more concerned with my friends voided bill. If you're that stupid to void it in the first place then you don't deserve that money. I had to call my bank and claim a fraudulent charge. I won't be going back, the food is terrible and quite honestly they're way nicer and accommodating at Huck's. read more

Archview is a cool place to have dinner with friends. I have been there couple of times, and I really liked it. They have good services, and the food there are good, and the prices for the food are reasonable. Going Archview is very convenient because it has a parking lot and it's located near the orange line station. After not going there for over a year, I realize why I stopped. I ordered the fried chicken and it was burnt, the inside almost looked like beef jerky. Sad thing when I brought it to the waitress attention, the owner came over and argued with me for about 5 minutes, telling me that the chicken was fresh and made all at the same time as the other pieces. Solid breakfast place! Customer service has gone way done since I started going there a few years ago. The scene is old school. The waitresses are older women. They give you a mom/grandma vibe. I used to enjoy the humor and chit chat with some of them. Last couple of visits have been sub par...ranging from cold food to being told that complimentary means free....when I had initially asked if I could substitute my fries for a side salad. I am from Cincinnati, Ohio and have never been to Chicago. Since arriving in Chicago I've been staying at The Hard Rock Hotel. I have eat at several places on N. Michigan that were ok. I found a "Cheap Eats" magazine or something like that in my room and after thumbing through it I saw a review on the New Archview for "Best value breakfast" I thought myself, my friend and my son should try it. We called to see if it was "Valet" parking as everything in Chicago seems to be. The women who answer the phone said no they had 3 parking lots so we map quested it and it was about 6.5 miles. When we arrived the gentlemen at the counter knew most people on a first name basics. He welcomed us and showed us to our seat. My friend and my son ordered breakfast. I ordered the Sunday special rostierre chicken which was around $9. It was AMAZING!!! Not to mention you got soup, salad, 1/2 a chicken, potato of your choice, and dessert. for this price...........WOW what a value!!! .. Their breakfast choices of pancakes, eggs, bacon and waffles were also GREAT!! THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST EVERYTHING IN CHICAGO, VALUE, TASTE AND SERVICE!!!! read more
