Food is 10 out of 10. We did not have to wait long. Service was great. I recommend if you want to bring your family here. They have alot of options. This is one of my fav chinese food in memphis.

5 shrimp and a sliver of meat. Just put down on the table. SHAMEFUL.

Food has gone down since new owners took over. Service is better and they are more pleasant but I come for the food. I ordered a shrimp and lobster sauce lunch special and got 5 small shrimp and 1 sliver of meat. How is this acceptable?

I love this place! The food is excellent, the people are more like family and it's under new management. I followed the chef when he was at Asian Palace which has now closed. The shrimp with lobster sauce is delish and the Sizzlin beef is so tender. You've got to check this place out!.

We went for Dim sum. The steamed oyster were huge and delicious. Shrimp stuffed eggplant was delicious with a pepper sauce. You have to try the fried tofu with Yum Yum sauce. it's my new favorite. Fried shrimp balls were big and delicious. If you had ever gone to the old Asian Palace you will love this place.

New Asia is my family's favorite restaurant! I have been coming here for as long as I can remember and they have really authentic food here. We always share the big dishes and still take home leftovers. This restaurant is pricier, but I can definitely say it is worth every penny. New Asia has a very family friendly atmosphere and will see lots of families eating together here. If I could rate this place higher than five stars I would!

    Maggi beef (must try!)

Absolutely amazing. I'm from Atlanta, where there is great Chinese food, but this place is definitely a cut above the rest. They roast the ducks in house (but still juicy and crisp, which is hard to find in most places), they make their own kkakdugi (), a very clean and satisfying seafood jjampong ()(very generous with the seafood!), fragrant roasted snow pea leaves with garlic, and we tried out a Maggi beef dish and... Tender, thick cuts of beef, well seasoned, so so good. Definitely come here for authentic and very delicious Chinese food! It will be hard to find something comparable in Atlanta!

It is a Michelin recognized (i.e., fancy) authentic Szechuanese restaurant. While I can't comment on the authenticity, the flavors are deeper and bolder than any Chinese cuisine I've ever had. My brother and I fight over which is better, the boiling fish or the dry pot. Really, everything we've had has been excellent. It's possible to go affordable here with something like a fried rice dish, but I recommend being adventurous and trying something new. Every dish is sharing size and a table of two could eat their fill with one or two dishes. They get busy during peak times but they're good at turning tables and I've never had a bad wait. I'll note that the food comes out suspiciously quick, seemingly regardless of what we order it takes around 5-10 minutes, even when we brought a larger party.

I have tried it with and without spice and it's fantastic either way though I definitely prefer with spice (it wasn't spicy to me, just more flavorful). I'm addicted to the shrimp rolls and steamed dumplings so I gotta get those every time I come here. The egg drop soup is good here as well. I really liked the Ma Po Tofu which was unexpected because I usually don't like tofu. But this tofu was super soft and decently flavorful. The Egg Drop Soup was very flavorful and doesn't have the weird aftertaste that some of them have. I am sure the staff had their hands full. Our server Daniel (name on ticket) was a complicated hot mess. He started out saying that we should have gone to Lao S.C., that it was better food? Never saw that coming. He said he used to work there too - which I wondered why he quit such a new establishment after such a short run? Then it hit me: I began by saying that we generally get the same things (mapo tofu or the cumin lamb - excellent choices), and I wanted to try something different? I was interested in the spicy whole grilled fish in pot! He told me that I wanted the fried chicken sautéed in peppers... his favorite. I said no, I really wanted to try the whole fish. He continues insisting I wanted the chicken dish? 3 more times... and I began suspecting maybe something was amiss, perhaps freshness issue with the fish - I relented and went with the chicken which ultimately was disappointing. Hard cooked chicken scraps edging on burnt tossed not in a sauce but in handfuls of dried peppers. Dry-fried. Very uneventful, hard and dull. Wife went with the shrimp in milk sauce which was extraordinarily delicious. Plump and savory jumbo shrimp in a creamy almost walnut sauce. We ordered a pear Sake from Oregon (which he told us was from Japan), and the spicy dumplings as an appetizer. The dumplings were tender and homemade which we liked but were not overwhelmed with. The Sake was light with a hint of asian pear went well with dinner. Still wishing I was more demanding on the whole fish (or) took his former recommendation and went to the other place?

Went in for an early New Year's Eve dinner. This place has been here for years; I see it as an…read moreeast Memphis institution. The inside is eclectic, it's not fancy...though this isn't a bad thing. It's a nice escape from the run-of-the-mill Chinese take-out places (where you can eat inside also), it's not trying to be corporate-flashy. Best I can describe it is authentic to the people who own the joint. And I like it; a couple of fish tanks, some kitsch, the odd neon signs inside (over the bar, on the west wall towards the rear), the unused area to the right of the bar. Somethings work, something's are out of place, but it's a testament to the longevity of the location. So the food: the value is great. The apps were middle-of-the-road (sweet fire shrimp, spicy cucumbers (sans spicy but ponzu), spring rolls. The stand out was the hot and sour soup. Nothing really novel about it, but exactly what I was looking for. As the duck sauce was a bit sweet for the spring rolls to my liking, I found it necessary, and delicious, to dunk the spring rolls in the hot and sour soup. The Scientist had her usual kung-pao chicken. Really good, if not a bit basic (though the slight notch up of heat from the Szechuan peppers was appreciated). I went with the Peking duck. It's the most expensive thing on the menu (as it is everywhere else), but worth it. This is going to feed 2-3 or a big meal there and a healthy portion to take home. The skin crispy, the meat moist. Bones removed, but for the wings and thigh bones...it was appreciated. Served with Chinese pancakes and onions and a delightful hoisin. Highly recommended. The staff was delightful. Efficient (if not a little too efficient; we had two servers ask for our order), attentive, hospitable. We don't really have a go-to for Chinese food. Despite being out in Gtown, this may be our new default for Chinese eat-in or take-out.

Once I made it home, I tried the spring and egg roll they were both solid nothing special but good. Next, I tried the egg drop soup and I enjoyed it, especially since I was under the weather. The wings were last and they were huge! I wonder how large was that chicken to produce wings that big!
