When placing this order, I was looking for NY style Chinese and this seemed to have everything I was looking for on the menu. We ordered : Beef Lo Mein - the noodles were fine but the beef was terrible. The consistency of the meat felt like you're eating chewed up gum. They did follow my request on not adding veg to the lo mein so that's what earned them the second star on the review. General Tsos Chicken and Sweet and Sour Chicken, both were fine. Very standard but the sweet and sour chicken was a bit on the dry side but it's okay. Fried scallops were fine. A bit dry but not bad. Chicken with broccoli - I specially asked for this in garlic sauce and they did just that so thank you so much, this goes into the second star of the review. This meal was fine as well. The shrimp roll was absolutely terrible. It was probably the worst egg roll/shrimp roll I have ever had in my life. The cabbage tasted like some kind of cleaning product or disinfectant. The shrimp was absolutely disgusting and the size of my thumbnail. It was just -1000/10 Overall this is a 2.5-3/5 for me, but I will not be ordering from here again. read more

Shuōdàodǐ: Not worth a special trip but if you happen to be nearby the food is very good. They have spent not nearly a cent on making the place a sit down restaurant as this place is based on a high volume, take-out, money making venture--but there are four tables for your dining pleasure. Do not expect table service but if you are nice you just may get it. You also get some choice: You can either get an egg roll, or, a bottle of water if you dine in! Food takes just a bit longer than you might expect for a takeout place, but, the important part--it is worth the wait--which is the reason for the extra star. The prices are very reasonable, almost cheap! If you truly enjoy take out Chinese food, this place is worth a stop and may become your "go to". read more

The spring roll was nasty I had pepper steak and onion and the steak tasted old and mushy the rice and peppers where good but the steak was horrible I will never go back again. read more

Good food, great value. This place is out of the way, but a nice find. There are tables in the place, but I've never seen anyone eating there. The service is good, the friendly woman working the register is also the translator for the chef. The large entrees are just that large and a great value. This over shadows the flavor of the food because I've always specified it spicy, but it generally gets served too mild for my taste. Don't get me wrong, a little pepper sauce when you get home with your takeout order will definitely improve things. I keep going back to this place because it is friendly and the food is consistently delicious and inexpensive. The huge menu will give you plenty to choose from. It is usually prepared and ready to go in about 15-20 minutes, which is perfect if I order inline since it will be ready by the time I get there. Quick and convenient. Not too even mention that it's super close to me. The food is hot and fresh. Very seasoned and good. Courteous staff and gives accurate times to when your food is ready. Ok, the food is greasy and bad for you, you probably already know that...but it's tasty. This restaurant is within walking distance from work, so I go occasionally when I don't feel like eating the Spinach I brought for lunch. My coworkers also enjoy it. I enjoy the price most of all: ~$5.00 for an egg roll, fried rice, and a meat or vegetable-can't beat that! There is a Subway next door, but I prefer to go here. Not bad, but definitely not the best Americanized Chinese I have ever had. Also, kinda weird, but the owners have their young home-schooled daughter working the counter (she is like 10). Food was sub-par for even a run of the mill Chinese joint. The pork lo-neon was essentially boiled egg noodles with a few boiled vegetables and a few slices of stale tasting pork. No visible sauce; just a small puddle of pale looking broth. General Tso chicken was soggy and lacking in sauce. It barely covered the chicken pieces. Chicken wings were the only redeeming part of the meal. Flavorful and not over cooked. I will never be ordering here again. read more

Nice and friendly service, but the food wasn't anything that stood out. We got 2 different chicken dishes and the both tasted the same, and the rice was very oily. Good Food. I never get enough shrimp in my shrimp fried rice even when I pay for extra. Its frustrating because you cant get a straight answer as to how many shrimp come in order? How many more shrimp do you get per dollar. Other than that Good food. I never tried any dish i didn't like. Been eating there for 15 years and the are nice, friendly family. Wings are very tasty too. If you call your order in its best to speak with son because mom gets orders mixed up over phone due to language barrier. I haven't been here in over a year and now I remember why... I called in my order and it still was not ready when I arrived 25 minutes later although there was only one customer in the waiting. When I went to pay, I told the lady I had the combination plate but she told me that that wasn't what I ordered. (I know what I said) Turns out, I got exactly what I ordered only a spring roll was not included (don't like them anyway) BUT the price was about 3 bucks higher! She told me again that I should have ordered the combination plate and offered me a free can drink ( which I refused since I already PAID for one can drink. I won't be back. In town for a conference for a few days and wanted Chinese food. Great restaurant. Nice family running the place. We got chicken fried rice, like mein, and hot & sour soup. Many places have their own take on hot & sour soup so I wasn't to surprised or upset that it wasn't my favorite especially since it was still good. The chicken fried rice...wow. It was like they packed as much in that styrofoam container as was humanly possible. I'm very picky about lo mein although I can eat most and enjoy it at least a little. I was pleasantly surprised however by some of the best lo mein I've ever had...ever. It's always scary when you're out of town and don't know what you're going to get with a Chinese restaurant but New China definitely hit the spot! read more

This place has very good quality meat for a Chinese restaurant. This is our standby for takeout when we don't want pizza! It's just Chinese food, nothing crazy so that's why this is 4 stars instead of 5. Great place though. read more
