The restaurant is clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated with a traditional Chinese touch that even changes with the seasons. The manager is incredibly nice! I had a large to-go order, and he had someone help carry everything out to my car! I really appreciate that level of service, it really stands out. Their dim sum is definitely the BEST in town. Decent dim sum in the area. This place does seem to get busy during meal hours. Ordered a bunch of items that i forgotten to take a picture of. The classic items include siumai, hargow, egg tart, wu kok (honeycomb taro dumpling), BBQ bun, chicken feet, turnip cake, BBQ Roast Pork, fried sesame ball and an order of supreme soy noodles. Dim Sum Palace is the only place I know where can get an experience similar to the experience you get in Hong Kong. The carts carrying small dishes of delicious tasting morsels, sort of a tapas experience with Chinese food rather than Spanish. The food is solid if not spectacular. The ambiance reminds me so much of my experiences in Hong Kong. Not to mention the good housekeeping seal of approval when you see how many Chinese and Asians are there dining! If the people who know what 'real Chinese cooking' is all about are eating there, you know you are getting as close to the real thing as possible. Friendly staff will help you on ordering if you ask, but as a rule they will assume you know what you want when you sit down. If you are unfamiliar just ask. I've never had any issues getting answers. So, if you are looking for 'real' Chinese food, served in a unique way, please check out Dim Sum King...but be careful. Update 12/28/2025 Went there with family in town on a Sunday afternoon. Place was quite busy as expected on a Sunday afternoon and especially on a holiday weekend. There was about 16 of us so we were seated in the "karaoke" room which has a gigantic lazy Susan that self rotates. Food overall was good as typical. Although the "wu kwok" (taro root fried ball" did not taste freshly made but more like from the freezer. The waitress was very good. Be prepared -- they charge for everything, which wasn't clearly explained upfront and made the meal more confusing than enjoyable.The service setup was also hard to follow. Went to dinner Sunday, August 17th and our meal was super tasty. I enjoy supporting this restaurant as the food is consistent and delish! The service has always been cordial and efficient. The restaurant has been remodeled some since they placed fancy partitions to make some booths. The restaurant is decorated with Asian flair. We had stir fry cauliflower dish that was simple and flavorful. The beef flat noodles were very good with tender beef and perfect noodles. The Peking style pork was velvety and not too sweet. The walnut shrimp needed a few more walnuts but the shrimp and sauce were quite fabulous. We also ordered a tofu dish that was new to us. It had fried tofu, bok choy and other veggies. The gravy was light and completed the dish. Our first noodle dish was like a simple egg noodle or maybe it was some type of rice noodle. It was okay. We ordered some cheung fun, har gow, and siu mai. BEST DUMPLINGS! I love this place and look for any excuse to visit. It's also fun to visit the local bookstore novel afterward and get a book! Or head to Penzeys. There's just a lot of stuff around here so I like to make a day of it and visit this place and a few other places. I hear they have karaoke in the back so I def wanna check that out sometime! I LOVE the dumplings here. They are so tasty and I want to try every dumpling they have. I've never heard of Tong Cho Shrimp but it was delicious. I also loved the chicken noodles. It sounded super basic but it tasted super delicious. I'd definitely try some more noodle dishes next time. The duck wasn't really that tasty. We ended up with a lot of bones in the meat part and I wasn't really that fond of the fried skin. I also wasn't fond of the Lobster Fried Rice but that's a personal preference- I don't like having to fight for my food. So both dishes required me to fight to get the meat either off the bone or out of the shell, which is why I didn't like either of them. No surprise that I loved the Broccoli and Beef as it is a childhood favorite and I seem to like it everywhere. However, the Chicken Broccoli we tried had a tasty flavor that worked really well with the chicken but for some reason didn't work as great with the broccoli for me. On another visit a lady came around with appetizers on a cart for people to grab. My friend got sesame balls and I got some sort of dumplings. The receipt said they were fried shrimp balls. They are my new favorite and I had to hold myself back from ordering more. The Kung Pao Chicken was ok but better with the chili oil they brought to the table.I think the one downside to this place is that they tend to put the entire table on one ticket. They can split it at the end but it does make things more complicated. I'll have to ask next time if it has to be on the same ticket at first or not. We arrived as they opened at 11am and were able to get seated quickly. Their dim sum has carts that come to the table as opposed to no carts and ordering a la carte. Very simple decor and also had screens available for those who want to watch games. The dim sum did not disappoint. The shui mai was very good as were some of the fried items. First off the communication is bad, the server didn't explain anything so my family just sat at the table confused. 3 drinks ended up being 23 dollars. Lastly, they kept coming around with food on their carts asking us if we wanted to buy any, we would say no but they would still be pushing us to take it. Worst of all they kept trying to give the food to the youngest child at the table because they knew if she took it we would have to put it on our bill. My husband and I have been here a few times before, but only once did they have the carts going around. This past weekend was my mom's birthday and she was visiting us for the holidays, so we took her here for her birthday dinner since we have a traditional "eat noodles for long life" on birthdays. The tart was perfect and no too sweet for her. Not pictured: my husband and I ordered the shrimp pan fried since my mom is allergic to shellfish. They gave a good amount of shrimp that we had leftovers of it. For dim sum we ordered the pork and shrimp shu mai, soup dumplings and steamed bao. Shu mai is always a must in dim sum. My boys love the soup dumplings as they are a perfect meat ratio in them. And my little ate all the steamed bao to himself. They are a perfect size for him. Overall the food here is great. Dim Sum King Memphis TN ... Best Chinese restaurant in Tennessee! Please take this opinion from a Chinese from Hong Kong who has also lived in Singapore. Dim Sum King's dim sum is really good. But the restaurant's name does not do it justice because they serve many authentic Chinese dishes. Huge oysters with scallion, superb roast duck, Chinese vegetables ... all expertly prepared. This is not a small restaurant. They have a full service bar. The dining room is spacious with an attractive ambiance. The service is attentive. Price is reasonable for the quality. The only caution I would advise is ask the price of the Market Price menu items when ordering. I live in Indiana. Found this restaurant on my way to Arizona. I will make sure my route back to Indiana includes a stop in Memphis so I can dine at Dim Sum King again. read more

Oh yeah, this one is another local gem. It's about as close as you'll get to dim sum out here. The experience is similar as I remember it out west in SGV, CA. There's some differences, but overall a solid experience. If you're in a big enough party, you'll definitely get the big round tables that can be filled with all the glorious options that are carted out to you. The place is also huge, and everyone carting the food is super nice. Cilantro dumplings were a 5/5. Chinese broccoli, too good. Chinese bbq pork buns, 5/5. Steamed pork buns, solid. Fortunately the waitress was helpful and we tried several of the different dishes at her suggestion. Wasn't blown away with any of it. The soup dumplings were good but there were only 4 of them.
