The meats here are fresh and delicious, and to get an Italian sandwich here is a must. All you have to do is ask the outrageously friendly staff and they will do it. Meats piled high on a crusty but chewy hero roll. It is funny because I had one in their Manhattan store and it was not as good. This was a delight. The staff is knowledgeable and right out of a Brooklyn that once was. A friendly butcher, beautifully arrayed food, all served with a smile and well wishes. In particular, a staff member in the meat section (an uncle who wears glasses) has been consistently unfriendly and comes across as hostile toward customers. I'm not sure what the reason is, but interactions like this are a big reason I've chosen to return to Forum, another Asian supermarket in the area. Jmart truly excels in product selection but falls short in the customer service department. With better staff training and a stronger focus on customer experience, this store could easily become a standout. As it stands, I'll likely continue taking my business to places like Forum.

The clientele is overwhelmingly Chassidic which is a cultural experience in itself unless you happen to be from a Satmar or from another Orthodox sect. Recently when I could not find chopped herring salad anywhere else, I found it for a reasonable price here! I find their prices to be somewhat higher on several items when compared to the nearby competition (for instance Nana Tea was $1.00 a box cheaper down the street at Appetizing Plus), but that said, I have found the cashiers helpful and friendly as long as you make an effort to proactively be nice to them. So not the cleanest, most modern place to shop but a good variety of kosher items to choose from!

When you first walk in there is a cashier to the left and a long display of uncooked meats to cooked and ready to eat foods. On display above are signs with signature sandwiches you can choose from or you can have them make you something. I was first approached by Frank, super nice guy and may be the owner or at least the main butcher. He seemed to be the one in charge and handling things like large orders and questions from other staff. I had the pleasure of being helped by Jose. He was super nice and took his time with my order. I never felt rushed or pressured from him. I got a sandwich I saw on Instagram, but not on the menu with speck (imported prosciutto), arugula, tomato and balsamic glaze on a panini. I didn't want the goat cheese, but didn't realize there was no cheese - that was my bad (thankfully my husband bought some fresh mozzarella). Then at the last minute, I decided to go for the roast beef sandwich as well, but I told him that I wanted to eat it later so he helped me make it with gravy on the side and told me the best way to heat it up. He was great! Oh and threw in a couple of rice balls/macaroni balls for me to try! So so nice! Paul helped my husband and it was the same deal - super nice, took his time, never rushed my husband. When we got home to eat, my sandwiches when I finally ate them all, were delicious and well made. Not as overwhelming looking as Instagram, but good and yummy sandwiches. The sauces, marinara and pesto were very yummy and went well with the mozzarella in carrozzi. The zucchini sticks were good and so was the chicken parm and pretty much everything we got. It also lasted us for some days! B & A gave us a shopping experience and made it enjoyable rather than a get in, get out, next feel. Jose, Paul and Frank were great and we definitely look forward to coming back!

Fresh mozzarella and ricotta rolled between fried eggplant and layered with sauce means you can't go wrong. The store itself is clean and staff is friendly. I will be back!
