If I could give a negative review I would. I've been a fan of New Balance running shoes for a while and have been in this store before never had an issue till today 11/5/25 so I went into the store with the intention to buy a new pair of shoes for the gym. I went into the store, was greeted by a nice lady she shared with me about the sale they had. I said thank you and moved onto looking at the shoes. When I picked a pair out and was trying them on one of the employees that was by the cashier passed by the isle and asked if I was doing ok to which I said "Yes I'm doing fine thank you." But the whole 5-10 min I was there she was pacing back and forth looking at me. I felt uncomfortable so I decided to tell her "don't worry I'm not taking anything" while I was walking to the door to which she responded with "good" while the whole time looking at me from the bottom to the top and more at my shoes judging me. I turned around to speak to the manager which if I recall is Kathryn or Kati. I could be wrong. But spoke to her about her attitude towards me and how uncomfortable I was. I left right after. I came back later after going to another shoe store to buy two pairs to which they suggested if I really felt was necessary to get her name to make a point on a review then to get her name. So I went back in again to talk to the manager and see if I could get her name so I could leave this review but the employee that was hovering around me did not feel "comfortable" giving me her name for this review. The manager was neutral she was respectful and understanding but seemed like she didn't want to give me her name either so she said she would pass on my information to the owner and also gave me his information so I could reach out to him. I have never had this type of encounter in Gilroy, salinas, or San Jose. While we had the conversation she admitted that I was suspicious to which I asked her what makes me suspicious or what did I do that made me suspicious and she didn't respond to that she just said it was her job. I hope someone talks to her about her temper though and her costumer service. It really seemed like if I had offended her or did something to her. I even told the manager that I wasn't even being rude to her or being disrespectful. But the manager did say maybe she was having a bad day but either way it's not ok. If she's not happy working there then she should find another job. If anything changes I'll attempt to update this review. In the mean time I will be waiting for the owner to reach out to me. read more

We came here for our annual back to school shoe shopping. New Balance is the only place that sells all black leather shoes! A must for our kids' school. Clerks were friendly and helpful. They helped us measure the kids' feet and they found shoes that met our criteria. The ones they recommended also weren't the most expensive ones on the floor. Sometimes clerks like to peddle their $100 shoes. I'm glad this store doesn't do that! read more

I've been shopping NB (including this location) for years and I normally have great, helpful experiences. There is normally a female manager is is great, and gets me exactly what I'm looking for. Last night's visit was pretty interesting. After going in, all the employees were just standing in a group talking about their social lives. Not welcoming guests or seeing if they needed help (which I did). After standing next to them for multiple moments just waiting to be noticed, we left. A++++ service! For an "outlet" store this place is pretty great plus their customer service is outstanding. You would think coming into a discount type store that you would meet unfriendly disgruntled employees but that is not the case here. I have been here several times the past few months and have always encountered a friendly and competent staff. They have tons of great New Balance items from shoes to apparel, kids section and other fun things. I have purchased two pairs of shoes here the past few months and loved them with no issues. I came in here today to buy a few things since I am doing the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk in San Francisco this coming weekend. When I got to the register, I had asked the nice employee if the store gave a discount to people doing the walk this weekend (New Balance is a Sponsor). He asked his boss and without any problem, they gave me 20% off my whole purchase! Wow! They were encouraging and wished me luck this weekend. I thought that was really awesome of them to do that. I usually don't ask for discounts but figured it might not hurt since they were the sponsor. I will definitely be back here again for my workout gear and shoes! read more

We were immediately greeted by Melissa upon walking in the store (FYI: this is an A+ in my former retail industry mind) and makes me feel like my time and hard earned money is worth it, you know? She was on it. She asked us if we needed any assistance and we took her up on the offer. We were looking for shoes for a extremely sports active 11 year old who was diagnosed with Severs and is an over-pronator. She knew the product and knew what she was talking about. I went here looking for a pair of 992s that were recently discontinued. I ordered a pair of 11.5/4Es online (from another retailer) assuming they would fit, because that's my size for every other New Balance shoe I've owned. Sadly they were too big, so I returned them to the store where I purchased them. So I called around and they said they had a bunch of them at the Factory Store in Gilroy... for nearly half price! I drove the 30 miles to Gilroy, and was very happy I did, they had every size in stock, and every available width. The salespeople were very helpful and knowledgeable and must have brought out 6 different size and width combinations just to make sure I got the ones I wanted. They had a 30% sale, so I ended up buying more than I planned to, but I'll be back again soon. read more

I forgot to check in three days ago when we visited but I would still like to leave my review. From the Nike store we went over to New Balance store across the way. Omg way better service than Nike, of course in my opinion. We were able to get help right away from start to finish. And we were just looking for my son, but because we were so impressed with the staff and their knowledge of what they'd recommend my husband, son, and I walked out with a brand new pair of shoes. I didn't get the name of the girl and guy who helped us out but the new their stuff. We will be buying from here again! This is highly delayed, I do apologize. I decided to go outlet shopping the day after Christmas, 2 weeks after knee surgery. Big mistake, the outlets were nuts. No parking to be found, people stealing other people's parking spots, morons sitting in handicapped spots, sleeping while the other members of the car were shopping. Anyhow, I digress. Finally found a parking spot and my mom and I made our way into New Balance. Pete (Barroso) greeted us at the door, and set to work helping me find the best pair of shoes for me. Pete could see I was struggling with my knee, so while I sat and rested , he was my runner, making suggestions and finding sizes. I would find a pair, then see something better, then go back to the original pair. Pete never got upset, just reminded me the pros and cons of each shoe. With his help, I finally found the right pair, as well as a pair of arch supports to go in them. At the register, Pete was able to use a coupon code on my pair of shoes. Not only did I get great service, but I got a great deal on a pair of tennis shoes. This isn't the first time I've been here, but it's the best service experience I've had. The manager has been very helpful on other visits as well. The only thing I do not like is the lack of size 11 and 12 shoes. I've wanted the breast cancer shoes for awhile, and the only sizes I ever see are 6-8s. I know in the store you can order the larger sizes, but that option hasn't been presented to me in the factory store. I need a new pair of tennis shoes, will be returning to find my next pair. The staff is very professional here and they have made arrangements to accommodate customers during these Corona virus times. On top of that there is a complete and thorough line of men's and women's and children's shoes and very competitive sales to the tune of about 40 to 50% off depending on when the sale occurs. The location has moved from the South and of the lot closer to the Levi outlet as well as the Starbucks location so please bear that in mind. I have shopped their before. New Balance are my favorite athletic shoes. I have had my first pair about 35 year ago and they just seem to be the best for my feet. I have had other athletic shoes and one or two pairs were very good too but I keep going back to New Balance. Very impressive young man who is knowledgeable about every aspect of the NB shoes. He ask us a lot of questions about what we needed from shoes. A true consulting sales professional. He stayed with us throughout the entire experience - explaining the features and benefits of each model shoe then running to the back to make sure that we got to try on the size and style perfect for us. Best service we have had from any store in recent years. Nordstrom or any high end retailer would be lucky to have him on staff. I have a complain to file against the Factory Store in Gilroy, CA. Factory Store Gilroy Gilroy Premium Outlets 8155 Arroyo Cir Suite #7 Gilroy, CA 95020 408-842-1395 I went to a local festival and the program they gave out included a coupon for that store to receive 20% off through today (7/26/10). As a regular customer, I wanted to take advantage of that offer. I called the store and was told they closed at 6:00 PM, so we cut our time at the festival short in order to make it before closing. After fighting traffic for 45 minutes to go 5 miles, we arrived at the store at 5:50 PM, only to find an employee barring the door and refusing to let us in. He said "We are closed." I pointed out to him that it was still 10 minutes to closing, and I knew exactly what I wanted, yet he steadfastly refused to let me in. He was getting his direction from someone else inside at the register, neither of them would entertain an appeal. As I sat in my car fuming outside while I attempted to call a customer service number, I witnessed as many as 10 other people doing the same thing, some of whom took pictures to corroborate this treatment. I do not know what school of Retail Management they subscribe to, but this is very poor customer service. As a result of that treatment, I am now unable to use that coupon as I live 100 miles away from that store. It has me thinking I will never buy New Balance shoes again, which bothers me because up to this point, I was a loyal user and I like the products and selection. I think the manager of that store needs to get some serious customer service training! I worked retail for a number of years and although I can sympathize with employees wanting to end their shift and go home, I also know that such is the fate of being in retail; you must cater to the customer. If 6:00 is the closing time, the doors should be open until 6:00. If that is the time they need to shove everyone out the door, what is the acceptable entry time then? 5:00? 5:30? 5:45? Obviously not 5:50... I contacted the corporate office to give them this message, they have no process by which anyone can file a complaint. read more

The New Balance Factory store is such a great place. They have some of the best service that I have seen and a selection that will wow you. I have a difficult time finding shoes because of wide feet and most stores do not have the correct width for me. Not only does New Balance have my size, but they have it in every shoe they offer and with plenty in stock. It is nice to be able to walk in and not be turned away because they don't have my size. read more

Four stars for selection and five stars for the quality of their goods, I've been using they're running shoes for years and appreciate their design and durability. However zero stars for this outlet (same at others), they don't bother to enter the clearance price for items, they leave the original outlet store price on many items. You think they could program that into their scanners but I'm suspicious they don't because if you don't ask for it they'll make substantially more. Zero stars for credibility and trustworthiness. I have been wanting to get some new balance shoes fora while now so we stopped by yesterday. My expierience here was great. I didn't know really what to get but the manager ( I forgot her name) was the most helpful person i have encountered at a retail store in a long time. I explained what my issues were and she checked my feet to see what type of arch i had and gave sample upon sample to try. She even went in the back to get a shoe that wasn't on display. I ended up buying two pair ofthe most comfortable shoes i have ever worn. I will be buying all of my tennis shoes from her from now on. read more

This is a very nice store with a very very good selection of shoes, running related items and other accessories. It's decently sized, non pretentious and I wouldn't hesitate to come here again. It's also kind of nice location wise as it is away from the major traffic areas of that part of the Gilroy Outlets. Never got greeted or anything once I came in during a weekday that wasn't at all busy. There were 3 associates on the floor and the store only had 3 customers including me. 2 of the associates were just talking to each other while one was helping a customer. I browsed around for maybe 10mins or so and then a different associate(maybe got back from break) had offered me a fitting room. So overall 1 star because of the last associate(short hair, tomboyish) that tried to help me was super friendly, another star for the nice manager who rung me up for my exchange and 1 star for cleanliness. Otherwise, I mostly helped myself and even used their step stool that was on a corner to reach some items I wanted. read more

I was in need of support shoes due to the fact that I just recently got plantar fasciitis. I walking into the store and within seconds got help. I normally blow off people who try to help me. But I told them my problem and they found me the perfect shoe and gave me a perfect insert. Melisa was great help. The shoes that they helped me with feel like pillows.
