Now, I know my size and, generally speaking, the styles that I like. It's easy for me to go to Zappos and order what I want. There are a LOT of Dr. Martens variations. However, I did not see that variation here. That is a little disappointing. The benefit of having a physical store is to be able to try things on and see if they look and feel the way you'd like them to. Unfortunately, what I saw where the basics. There wasn't even a huge variation in color. I've always gotten a lot of of life out of these boots. At least a decade. And for their price they are very much worth what you pay. The clerks were friendly, but not all that necessary with the limited inventory. So, if you want to try on the basics, like the eight hole leather lace-up: great. Definitely visit this shop. These shoes spoke to me as a vintage lover and the leather used is incredibly soft. The worker was very nice and polite and I tried on 4 pairs before deciding on which pair I wanted to opt for. He mentioned how these shoes are often used in Hollywood TV/movies for both vintage period pieces as well as modern media. He also mentioned that their shoes are often purchased by dancers for their ease of use and comfort and I got them for their comfort so I can absolutely see someone dancing the night away in these!

I knew fleet feet had a great supply and the ability to measure mama's sore feet. So, mama is a five time cancer survivor and warrior. Unfortunately she had a large mass on her toe which prevented her from being able to walk without a boot, which after months leads to body pain throughout. Her poor foot and ankle always hurt, and swelled up real bad. She had pain throughout her body from the imbalance and reliance on crutches. I didn't think we could find a pair of hokas that would fit, and even better actually heal her feet. Then we came in and met Dan, the kindest most knowledgeable specialist we could have hoped for. He was patient and supportive at every step, through mama's laser measurements- which are amazing and they email them to you if requested. Then he began the work, we tried 4 great recommendations but alas none fit, all too tight around the ankle. But Dan wasn't done, he looked at the measurements and put in an order for a men's size in extra wide trusting it would fit- and if they didn't we could exchange within 30days. Four days later, my mom put on her first pair of shoes that fit in over a year. Im in tears of thanksgiving. To see her walking in a new pair of hokas, with proper balance and arch support. She's so excited and we are forever grateful. Also, they didn't try to sell me the most expensive pair, they had an awesome shoe that was less than what I expected! I was wearing more or less pajamas when I finally did, with my well-loved Rainbows on my feet. My brother's dog chewed one of these up about a year ago and I never got a new pair. I still wear my Rainbows almost every day, but I decided I needed an alternate pair of sandals, in case I wanted to look presentable with the warmer months coming. I got fixated on Ancient Greek Sandals for some reason, even though they're outrageously expensive and pretty simple in design. I ogled them on the internet for months, but didn't want to pull the trigger without trying them on. At some point I noticed a few pairs in Vamp's window display, during one of my countless ambles past its storefront. Vamp is a very attractive store. It's all glass in front, so you can check out the goods without even going inside. The goods are enticing, a lot of cute, fashionable shoes propped up just inside the glass. The space isn't big, but it feels spacious. There's generally one employee and zero to few customers inside. I've been in twice, both times with my dog pulling and grumping while I leashed him to my waist and tried on shoes. I was attended by different saleswomen each time, and they were both pleasant and helpful. The shoe selection was great. There were a lot of sandals available, and almost all the ones I was curious about were in stock in my size. There were about four or five Ancient Greek styles, and I tried on two of them in a couple different sizes (along with a few shoes from other brands that were cheaper and, unfortunately, not as cute). I ended up liking them both, and also not having my wallet on my first impulse visit. I decided to sit on it, and went back a week later with money. I tried on the same pairs and picked the black one, which was cheaper and more practical than the very pretty, very stylish burgundy pair. I love these shoes. I can slip into them, and they look and feel fantastic. They cost $200, but I will get my money's worth. I know I could've waited and gotten these shoes online for 20% off or whatever, but I like Vamp and would've felt shitty using them as a showroom. I don't think I'll go in all the time or anything (I'm set for a while on shoes, and also, after all this, I still wear my dog-chewed Rainbows pretty consistently), but I like having this place in my neighborhood and will probably shop here again.
