Is this a whole baby chicken? A frog? Either way, not eating it.

Ok. So the people are friendly (2 young kids working the counter - as in 12-13 years old) if precocious. Ordering was quick and efficient (impressive for being so young). Also, it didn't take long to get our order (waiting in a non-dairy conditioned restaurant). Best yet, our order was correct! I had Bourbon Chicken. Not bad. Not the best cut of chicken, but far from the worst I've had. And the rice was rather fluffy, not clumpy. My wife had Chicken & Mixed Vegetables. This one may have been a little too literal. See the picture. Is that a whole baby chicken? Or a frog? Not sure we will order from here again.

Here's the updated menu as of today... from last time I shared the menu about a year ago.

My Moo Goo Gao Pan had very little chicken or vegetables other than tons and tons of mushrooms. This is the second time with almost nothing but mushrooms. This is usually three meals for me, it will only be one this time because I will be throwing the abundance of mushrooms away. The taste of the food however is good. Just way too many mushrooms! UPDATE - I've added an updated menu and the mixed vegetables with shrimp was perfect! Nice selection of proper mixed vegetables and equal varieties... zucchini; bok choy; carrots; broccoli and water chestnuts. Great flavor and NOT overly salted!! Hot and sour soup was nice

There are 3 Chinese take out restaurants within 20 minutes of my home. I thought it was about time I tried the third. I checked health inspections and didn't see anything to scare me off, although typically Chinese and Mexican restaurants around here fail badly from time to time. The order was small: egg rolls, pork fried rice, roast pork with snow peas, beef with broccoli, bourbon chicken, roast pork lo mein. On the positive side: the lo mein knocked it out of the park. It was garlicky and loaded with slices of pork along with shredded carrots and small shreds of cabbage. I knew I would love it just based on the aroma. The pork fried rice and beef with broccoli were solid. Nothing stood out, but the taste was what my memory was expecting. The roast pork with snow peas was also outstanding; good sized slices of pork with celery, zucchini, and green pepper along with snow peas. Excellent flavor and heavy on the meat. It almost made me wonder if Monday was "throw out any leftover pork" day. But, that's not fair. It was delicious. We were split on the egg rolls. I liked mine. It was crisp and full of vegetables. My wife was not a fan. Hers, in her judgement, was mushy and lacking in vegetables. Neither of us could identify what meat, if any, was in there. The bourbon chicken was a complete disaster. My first bite was cold. The chicken was dry. At first I thought it lacked flavor. But second and third bites revealed a flavor I did not care for. Something was off. And where was the sweetness? The broccoli in the dish was fine. This is a premium dish. It's a couple bucks more than other chicken offerings. It comes in a larger, fancier container. But, swing and a miss. Embarrassingly so. Oops, Super Bowl Sunday. It was a pick six. And it spoiled an otherwise okay meal. The worker behind the counter (who also took my order on the phone) was friendly. I wasn't there long enough to study cleanliness. No white glove test, no visit to the loo. Maybe next time, if there is one. For now, I guess I will save the extra 4 miles and return to the closest place.

I was visiting my parents and wanted to venture to get some good Chinese food. I found China Garden…read moreand it reminded me of a Chinese restaurant from home, New Jersey. I don't like Chinese food in California But China Garden had duck sauce so it was a win for me. I ordered General Tso Chicken and it tasted just how I liked it. I ordered a small with fried rice. The fried rice was delicious. I will absolutely go back when I'm back in town. The food was authentic. The food was made fresh. There's plenty of options. The price was perfect. The inside was clean. The staff was able to help me with my request. You can see them cooking as well. Plenty of options to sit. Plenty of parking spaces because it's in the plaza with Publix, Popeyes and other stores.

A Somber Sushi Soirée with Room for Improvement (2 out of…read more5) My father and I decided to explore the All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) sushi experience at this local restaurant, arriving promptly at 5:07 PM--a time I noted for reasons that would later become relevant. At first glance, the restaurant had a quiet charm, though it leaned more toward somber than serene. Aside from us and one other couple, the dining room was notably empty, which set the tone for the evening. We were seated quickly and placed an order that included a variety of sushi rolls, appetizers, and fried rice. Unfortunately, the service was sluggish noticeably so. Given the strict 90-minute dining limit, the extended wait times for food (and even for something as simple as extra napkins) felt more strategic than situational. To the food: The appetizers were a mixed bag. The shrimp tempura had an odd aftertaste, and it was clear the shrimp hadn't been properly cleaned always a disappointing oversight. The grilled beef skewers bore little resemblance to the menu description and were drenched in an overly sweet sauce that overwhelmed the meat. On a more positive note, the gyoza were pleasantly crispy and flavorful, and the spring rolls, while unremarkable, were decent. As for the sushi, it was serviceable but underwhelming. The rice-to-fish ratio leaned heavily in favor of rice, and the overall freshness left something to be desired. The teriyaki beef was actually quite tasty but again, it arrived swimming in sauce next time (if there were to be one), I'd recommend ordering it on the side to truly enjoy the meat. The service, regrettably, remained cold throughout the meal. At exactly 6:12 PM, our server informed us that our 90-minute window had expired despite the math suggesting otherwise. Perhaps she was simply having a rough day, so I'll leave it at that. In the end, while taste is indeed subjective, especially when it comes to sushi, I've had far more memorable and satisfying experiences elsewhere. For us, this visit fell flat, both in flavor and hospitality. Sadly, it's not a place I see myself returning to anytime soon. NOTE: Tips are included so be careful as you may end up tipping twice.
