Tried this place around the corner for the first time. A little apprehensive but we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered Shrimp & Beef Hunan style with fried rice and Seafood Delight with white rice. Oh and we picked it up. Food was ready when we got their, 20mins as mentioned on the phone. Positive's: flavor, vegetables, tender beef and size of shrimps, size of the portions Negatives: fake crab meat, 1 small piece of lobster and a little too much onion. Imitation seafood ingredients I ordered the Seafood Delight for $17.50. The ingredients were listed as being lobster, king crab, shrimp and scallops. There was no lobster in it at all, the king crab was substituted with imitation crab, but at least the shrimp was real shrimp. However, the bay scallops had no scallop taste, an unusual texture and did not have the fibers that are contained in real scallops. The "scallops" did not even meet the quality of imitation scallops that are made from skate; they had a texture more like they were made from surimi which is a fish paste. When I called the restaurant and told her about not having lobster in it, she said they didn't have any so they included more crab and shrimp. When I told her that it was imitation crab meat she said that she was sorry and would need to change the menu. When I started to tell her about the scallops she said she was too busy to talk but would take my number and call me back. She never returned my phone call. It should be noted that this was not an on-line order. When I called in the order she did not mention that the See Food Delight would not contain lobster or the King Crab. In as much as I want to support small business, it is deceptive to be dishonest about a dish's ingredients. Unfortunately I paid in cash so that they wouldn't have to pay the credit card fee, otherwise I would dispute the charge for this dish. read more

I'm giving it a five because I think the reviews here are either very old or the people must have been having a really bad day. I've lived here for six months and was hesitant to try the food here because of the low rating. But a combination of getting home late with limited cooking options at home prompted me to try it anyways. The food was Fresh, Hot, Tasty and fast. I ordered a typical white girl selection of Veggie Fried Rice, Veggie Lo Mein and Sweet and Sour Chicken. The noodles were very flavorful and had loads of fresh veggies! The rice was fresh and also had a good amount of veggies. The Sweet and Sour chicken came in two containers, the sauce that was very tasty not too sweet and the fried chicken, that was breast meat and freshly crispy. Amazing. For the first time my 10 year old wanted more chicken on her plate. The prices were great! So much cheaper than many other options here and the food was great. As far as Chinese takeout goes, this place is a little on the mediocre side....I've had much better Chinese takeout when I lived in Southwest Yonkers. I mainly go here if I have a serious Chinese take-out craving and don't want to travel too far...but I am not *nearly* as satisfied as I'd want to be. The fried chicken wings and rib tips taste a bit...off (not as in stale, but just not good compared to others). Both are one and done deals for me. Scallion pancakes are okay...a little greasy though. The chef's specialties are a little better, such as the General Tso's chicken. Out of the egg rolls- I'd say the spring rolls are the best. They're light and crispy. One thing that annoys me is that this place does NOT honor the prices printed on their menus, and you're often charged more than expected. For example- I ordered the regular dumplings, which should have been $3.95. However, I was charged $4.95 for them. When I asked the cashier about the price on the menu, she said that it was a typo. Which is fine, but then they should have either corrected the errors or demanded new menus with the correct price. This had happened on one other occasion, and again, the menus were blamed for the discrepancy in price. It gets two stars...Like I said, I've had way better in my old hood. read more

Most chinese takeout joints wouldn't even register at two stars. They often leave me feeling bloated and regretting the decision to even bother with them. New China in Hastings is a cut above those. The food tastes fresher on the whole and the sauces are not as thick and heavy. The service is generally friendly, eager to please, and accommodating to individual requests. Also, if you are going to pick up food there, they are cool with you using coupons off the menu there One caveat: Unless you're in a real pinch for time, I wouldn't necessarily recommend eating there. There are a few tables but it's definitely not a place designed for eating in. read more

Please do not eat in this restaurant! On June 2, 2018, I ordered shrimp and bracolli with garlic sauce. I paid cash. The Asian man took the money from me and gave me back the change. Subsequently, he sneezed on his hands. Without washing his hands, he took the bracolli and the shrimps with his bare hands and he started cooking. I took the food and threw it in the garbage. That is how people get sick. These people in that restaurant are nasty! Furthermore, the place is dirty. Maybe that's part of their culture! Please stay away from this nasty place! read more

Called for delivery. N. friendly woman on phone. Was delivered quickly; we are nearby. One of the dishes had chicken instead of beef as ordered. Called and spoke to a young man, and he told us to bring it back! I told him we ordered delivery, so we could avoid going out. I told him I thought the delivery person should come back and give us the correct meal and we would give the wrong one back. He said 'fine', but his tone was irritated. No sorry for the inconvenience, no nothing. Then I asked who I was speaking with, so if there was a problem I could say I spoke to them, and he got snarky and evasive. So I asked him "What is your name" and he finally told me Andrew. I wasn't irritated before this, and got so much attitude and laziness back. All this to deal with and the food wasn't even good. My husband and I had it years ago, and it was flavorful, which allows one to overlook the extremely dated appearance inside. Would never be place we would choose to eat for that reason. Now everything was bland. Bland won-ton soup, bland beef w/broccoli, bland Kung Pao beef. Kung Pao is supposed to be spicy, and it would not be expensive to use red chili flake for heat. Even the pork fried rice wasn't good. It was dry, and had almost no pork, onions and peas in it. It is sad when you can make better fried rice etc. at home, which is what I will do next time. This food is not hard to make, they would just have to use more ingredients. Makes it seem that they are being stingy with ingredients to cut cost. We can't understand how you would save much money by excluding those cheap ingredients though. What a disappointment. It seems apparent that they don't care about making the effort anymore. Not in their food or their service. I hope they read this and realize that if they don't start making better food and giving less attitude, they won't have customers. We won't be returning. Sadly, the best part was the fortune cookies. The only positive was that the delivery woman said she was sorry, even though It wasn't shared by the people who own/run the business. They should worry b/c there is a new H-Mart in Hartsdale where it is easy to get ingredients to make better on their own. Which is just what I will do from now on. read more

Pretty decent Chinese food - standard Chinese take-out/delivery, nothing special but nothing bad. The delivery was very fast. The only real negatives is that they don't give you chopsticks or utensils, and they only gave me 2 packets of soy sauce. I guess I know for next time that you have to ask for these "extras"? Crappy takeout joint. Not only is the food mediocre at best but they literally break the law by overcharging for sales tax! If you order from here despite my warning tell them to be sure to include the bill. If the sales tax is less than 11.5 percent you're luckier than I was or maybe the Westchester sales tax people got to them.
