Been coming for many years - delicious food, great portions, friendly people! Everything is made fast and comes out perfect.

It is difficult to write a poor review on an establishment and I don't take it lightly, but it is important that I am honest. My parents live in a neighboring town and have been coming here and/or getting takeout since they opened up many many years ago. Seven Woks has been one of the staples of the Golden Horseshoe Shopping Center and one of the originals that have survived in that location. My family and I live out of town and when we visit my father, he still wants to get Chinese food from here. Over the past several weeks, we did take out on two occasions. My 92 year old father appears to be still a fan of this establishment but in reality, my family and I have had much better Chinese food at just about everywhere else. Our two trips included having the egg rolls, steamed vegetable dumplings, chicken chow fun, pork lo mein, vegetable lo mein, and chicken and broccoli. The egg rolls appeared to be smaller than other egg rolls from similar restaurants. The steamed dumplings had a thick consistency, like playdough, and had little filling. Usually, we are used to thin skin on the dumplings and lots of filling. We can sum up all the other dishes in one word. BLAND. No taste, no seasoning, and just disappointing. From now on, we will convince my father to try another ethnic food when we are in town or I will cook for him. Me and my family went Mother's Day weekend and it was very crowded. FYI, if you have a party of 5 or more, they need you to make a reservation. The staff was kind. The order and delivery of the food was pretty quick. The food was OK. I will say that it's obvious that not many people of color go there, but the staff was still kind. read more

It's been a year since my family stopped going to and ordering from 7 Woks. My daughter wanted to give them a try . Called in an order. I asked for my favorite, Shrimps in Black Bean Sauce with Brown Rice, Won Ton Soup and an egg roll.. The egg roll was ok. Won Ton Soup had no taste. I could not recognize the flavor of my Shrimps but it did not taste like Black Bean Sauce. That is a sauce that you have to acquire a taste for. I know all of my family does not care for it. It being my favorite I usually ordered it most of the time. It will be probably a year from now before someone in my family wants to try 7 Woks again. It won't be me. The staff was extremely rude. They acted as if they were doing me a favor by me Eating there. The food was also completely subpar. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I just had a very delicious meal in this beautiful new find of mine. Spacious, clean, and friendly. My food came out quickly, was hot and very fresh ( I had the Twice cooked Pork off the lunch menu ) very yummy!! If I find myself in this area again, will definitely bring my wife in for dinner..they have a cute small bar ( 3 seats ) but enough to have a meal paired with a nice wine or cocktail when I return. ( only had tea today, but it was very good tea ) the service was very good and on par with the great food. The Prices are very good ( especially for this day and age ) I would definitely recommend this little gem hidden in plain sight in the Golden Horseshoe strip mall. Enjoy!!! read more

We are from Houston where there are many Asian restaurants, so our standards are high. 7 Woks was delicious. We had lo mein and garlic chicken. Both were excellent. Lunch menu was $13.95 entree and two sides. When we are back in Westchester we will go again. read more

First and last time at this restaurant. The service was horrendous. We weren't even seated for a minute before the younger waitress asked if we were ready to order. The older waitress had a very bad attitude. They hovered over us the whole time and were trying to take our dishes away before we were finished. We asked them numerous times to stop rushing us but it fell on deaf ears. The pork fried rice tasted burned and the beef on a stick was so rare it was barely edible. The food was good not as great as it used to be under original owners , we were disappointed that the nice server left us and were stuck with the most unpleasant woman I've ever met in a hospitality environment, if you get the one with streaky different color hair run for your life . She immediately was upset when I didn't want to give our dinner order with the appetizers, they have the habit of rushing you out and bring everything at the same time , and even though we gave the order when the apps came the food still came out too fast and I could tell it had been sitting , her rude and unpleasant attitude ruined my dinner and I really don't want to go back. read more

We have a lot of good takeout spots in the area but Seven Woks is good for both takeout and dine in. My family normally orders from here anytime we have relatives visiting. My sister and I recently came on a Saturday night when it was very busy but we managed to get sat right away. We started with crab rangoon, which was definitely filled more with crab than cream cheese. That's rare! We also ordered beef and broccoli and chicken with mushrooms and snow peas. We noticed these entrees definitely had more veggies than the actual meat, so I took off a star. We will still be ordering out from this spot because the food is tasty! read more

Set in a huge parking lot so parking is a breeze. First thing you notice is the open space and noisy cafeteria style. So ambiance is low. Its hard to not find decent asian food whether Chinese, Japanese or Thai in Southern Westchester, you cant swing a chop stick without hitting a Chinese restaurant in this area. We were told by friends Seven Woks is the best Chinese Restaurant in Westchester. We decided to try Seven Woks on Saturday afternoon. Upon arrival we were seated immediately and told the lunch specials were over, although it wasn't 3:00 p.m. As soon as we were seated the waitress brought over the menus and returned promptly to take our order. Within five minutes the appetizers were served. The 6 vegetable dumplings were served warm to cold and had absolutely no taste. The cold noodles were garnished with carrots, however the tips of the carrots were dried out and the noodles needed seasoning. The waitress never asked us if we wanted to order beverages. When the main meal arrived we had high expectations which quickly faded. The Moo Shu dish looked unappealing and tasted bland. The 2 pancakes that are always served warm were cold. I've ordered Moo Shu at other restaurants and the cabbage is always shredded. The cabbage in this dish was chopped up like cole slaw without any added vegetables or seasoning. Even the plum sauce couldn't save the dish. The second dish Basil Chicken was served hot but was drowning in brown sauce. Most of the pieces of chicken were very tough. My partner apologized for having to spit out the chicken. He used a knife to cut several pieces of chicken they were so tough he gave up and said he was done. Perhaps we should have ordered different dishes. The bottom line is whatever dish you order it should be served hot, tender and properly seasoned. Is this Westchester's best Chinese restaurant. Good old fashioned Chinese food w some Tai selections. 7 Woks food is consistently good, fresh and plentiful. The Ambiance is such that is unique these days when most Chinese places are take out or offer very few tables. 7 Wok is a place were people take their multigenerational families. The food was good but they treated us HORRIBLY. Our waiter YELLED at my elderly mother for not signing the "correct" copy of the bill. She was trying to fix it so that they got a cash tip (which they said they preferred.) Another waiter told her she took too long - she's 80 years old. Solid and reliable "american-ish" Chinese food, and really an institution in Scarsdale. I have never had a bad meal, sit down or take away. I don't see a world in which Jade Spoon is more highly rated than Seven Woks, unless you are a fan of discount combo platters. read more

I'm so glad I found Seven Woks. Some of the best Chinese food I've had in my entire lifetime and they have a gluten free menu. This restaurant is a gem to me ever since Golden Wok (also had gf menu) in Ardsley closed. The restaurant is a very nice & clean establishment with friendly people working. I was surprised to read the past review about the food tasting bland- something about that review seems very fake to me. If you are Gluten-Free try the champagne chicken. Yum! read more

7 Wok is a pleasant, clean sit down restaurant with good service and the best classic Chinese food anywhere in the County. Their won ton soup, cold noodle, scallion pancakes and bone-in spare rib appetizers are my favorite. All their entrees are cooked perfectly, never too greasy. Solid Chinese food. Very clean environment. The place is spacious. It's not the warmest environment, but the staff are very friendly and welcoming. We ordered wonton soup for starters. Great Chinese place! Standard Chinese food, and great entree options. I had the Shrimp & Chicken with Basil and Garlic, and it was delicious! The Lamb with Vegetables was also great.
