This place is a go to for decent Chinese take out. The sweet and sour chicken is always crispy and I appreciate that the sauce is packaged separately so it doesn't get soggy. I usually get the veggie lo mein too and it's a good portion. The orders come with egg rolls that are hefty in size but sometimes taste like oil. I've never dined in but takeout is always ready within minutes which is great. The pricing is a little bit more than I'd pay for takeout but it's usually good and gets the job done. read more

The place is mostly for take out and delivery. They only have one table inside that fits 3 people. We were driving from Texas to Orlando, so we just ate there. It seems popular the whole time we were there there was a lot of people coming in. The food was very tasty and portions were very generous. They had a helper that was fluent in English and Spanish. Kinda sad Tallahassee doesn't have any really good Chinese restaurants around, but New China does the job of settling your cravings. They do seem pretty busy, which I guess indicates that a sizable amount of people enjoy their food. The restaurant itself is super small, there's really only 2 tables so it's better if you order as takeout. It's located in a mostly empty plaza kinda tucked in the back and the sign is a little hard to see so keep a close eye out. The food is pretty good, my only complaint is not many of the meat dishes come with vegetables, especially the fried chicken ones. Is it too much to ask for some steamed broccoli and carrots? I am passionate about chinese food and not a fan of the chinese places in Tallahassee. However, I decided to try out New China Restaurant today and I can just say that they stand by their claim as best chinese food in town. I called and ordered spicy beef lomein, spicy beef fried rice, chicken wings, and beef on sticks. The delivery was fast and friendly. The moment I opened the bag, the smell made my mouth watery. Not only was every dish delicious and abundant, but they even gave me a complimentary ice tea. I will definitely be ordering from them on a regular basis here in Tallahassee. read more

Honestly, the only good thing from my meal was the fortune cookies. I got the chicken and broccoli and the sauce left half the rice soggy and the other half of the rice had extremely hard pieces mixed in. The chicken was like mystery meat and not very good. Really negative experience. In the past, I had recommended this restaurant to others. I ordered shrimp and fries. It normally comes in a styrofoam container. This time it was in the bags they use for the spring rolls. The fries were cold and the grease had leaked through the package so that they fell out when I was taking them out. I requested extra sweet and sour sauce and instead received a cup of sauce which was half filled. Not what I normally expect from this restaurant. I called the restaurant who was very rude. We had a night of drinking so wanted some nice fried food to calm our stomach. Chinese was just what we were craving. We ordered the sweet and sour chicken and honey garlic chicken lunch meals which came with egg rolls. We ordered delivery and we were located about 2 miles from the restaurant. Delivery took about 1 hour. I was very excited for the food but my excitement was short lived. The food was not good. My honey garlic chicken was soggy and inedible. The sweet and sour chicken was fried too long so it was quite dark and the sauce was not the typical sweet and sour you get from Chinese restaurants. I attempted the egg roll next and couldn't eat it. The filling had a strange taste and only the fried wrapper on the outside was edible. I will not order from this place again. read more

We ordered delivery, so I cannot speak to the ambiance or service. We ordered on a Saturday night and the food was delivered within an hour. It was hot and fresh. We had shrimp and snow peas as well as beef and broccoli. Both were OK. The beef was really chewy and had a lot of cinnamon flavoring. I did not like it very much. Had my first delivery order through the Yelp app and was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to order from here! Got my food within 35 mins which is pretty fast considering all I ordered. Got the pu-pu platter, chicken fried rice, and egg rolls. Food was satisfactory but mostly just good because it was a ton of food for a little money. I'm a huge sucker for Chinese food. It's pretty much comfort food for me - I can be having the worst day in the world, but if you give me an order of crab rangoon and some sesame chicken, my whole outlook just brightens up. So, when I find a place that serves a good meal, I stick with it, well, like white on rice. New China is one of those establishments where there's basically just a couple of tiny tables, a counter for ordering and payment, and a kitchen. You can eat in if you'd like to, but most of their business is carry-out or delivery. Since this is their focus, service is generally pretty fast. If you're ordering lunch, it'll be 15-20 minutes if you're willing to pick it up, perhaps 30-45 if you want to wait on delivery. Evening times might get extended a little bit if they have a rush, but they'll almost certainly be there faster than your local pizza joint. The food is pretty standard, but the prices are inexpensive enough that I really can't find anything to complain about. Seeing as I'm a graduate student, tasty, cheap, and plentiful are generally the three biggest factors on my list. With respect to each of these, I can safely say that I've never had a bad meal come from New China, and I can easily spend under $6 (lunch) or between $10-15 (dinner). And if you plan it right, a dinner that includes just about everything you could want (soup, eggroll/appetizer, entree, and rice - usually the $15 end of the range) can easily last for between two and three meals, if not longer. (Protip: The key here is ordering an extra quart of white rice - you spend another $2 and end up with more food than you know what to do with.) With most of the other Chinese restaurants in this town, it can be hard to order that much food and get away (with delivery charges and tip) without spending $30 - I know; I've tried. At New China, I usually spend half that amount for food that is just as good and is ready a lot faster. In my book, if you live on the right side of town for it, New China can't be beat. read more

I love cheap chinese food normally, but this food was horrible.... Let me explain, I ordered it for delivery, they are only about 2 miles away from me and it still took over an hour to arrive... When it finally did the food was cold and expensive... Beef and broccoli should not be 15.50 if it is then it should not take an hour to arrive cold... I told the lady over the phone I would be paying with cash when the driver arrived, when he did I tried to pay with a 20 and his reply was "Oh, I don't have any dollars". What?! You don't have change?! Your a delivery driver! Your gonna need change, its kinda one of the key requirements of delivering food. Maybe If I was trying to pay with a hundred or something I could understand but not when it costs 15.50 and I'm paying with 20. Being stuck at home today, super hungry and not wanting to wait another 30 to 45 mins to eat I gave him the 20 and said don't worry about it....to this he looked shocked. We evacuated Daytona Beach because of Hurricane Matthew and are staying in a hotel that doesn't have a fridge or microwave so we needed food relatively cheap that wouldn't produce leftovers. Ordered with Eat24 and it came quickly and REALLY hot! Prices are good and the food is pretty good too. Ordered the mongolian beef, roast pork fried rice, and orange chicken. The orange chicken sauce came separately from the chicken (deep fried like nuggets), and tbh I didn't really like how bright red it was. No veggies (like onions or bell peppers) in it, just sauce. The mongolian beef is actually pretty amazing, and roast pork fried rice is pretty good, but the meat is vey dry and often like jerky. Still alright. Willing to try more dishes from here! read more

No idea about the actual restaurant but delivery was pretty great! Was staying at a local hotel and always enjoy trying Chinese food in the different areas I go. Not as impressive as other Chinese food I've had (I promise Virginia beach, VA has the BEST) but it's normal Chinese food. We ordered General Tso Chicken at a "medium" spicy level, and Hunan beef at "very spicy." Both came with fried rice, and a choice of either egg roll, wonton soup, or egg drop soup for the price of $8 something (for dinner which is great). The general tso was pretty good but "medium" still isn't spicy enough. Hunan beef was good and just spicy enough. Ordered Crab Rangoon which was about average compared to other places. My biggest tip is to STAY AWAY FROM THE EGG DROP SOUP!!!! Don't do it, it was terrible. Delivery was super quick...they said it would be 45 minutes but it was here in 20. Horrible Customer Service! Poor Hygiene. On my first and only visit, I ordered a large shrimp fried rice, 3 shrimp egg rolls, 2 orders of chicken on a stick and wonton soup from New China restaurant on 4/12/17. Upon reviewing the food, I found a straight, black hair in my food. I reported it to management and was told that they would make a new one for me, but couldn't refund my food, "we can't because we not sure hair is Us." I am a BALD male and could not have possibly contributed to this health code violation. Having become utterly disgusted by finding a hair in my food, I did not want a replacement, nor did I want to eat any of the other items purchased. I returned to the store, with the chicken on a stick - hair intact, and the other untouched items. The female at the register was unnecessarily rude, snatched a receipt from me, begrudgingly refunded the price paid for the untouched food and had the audacity to tell me "not come back," because I've wasted all of this food. She was neither apologetic nor remorseful. Neither the female at the register, nor any of the people preparing the food were wearing hairnets. Been coming here since I was a freshmen in 12; food still good too even though they changed management. Usually get the roast pork lo mein or the general tsao chicken dinner combos; the portions are huge for me and i have a huge appetite.
