A Sunday Favorite! New Garden is one of my favorite local Chinese restaurants, conveniently located on North Thomasville Road, next to the Bradfordville Publix. Whenever I've had a long, tiring Sunday and don't feel like cooking, this is one of my go-to places. My favorite order is the Mongolian Beef, but I always ask for it with light onions only. The original comes with additional vegetables, but they're always happy to customize it exactly the way I like it. I usually pair it with one of their delicious egg rolls. Another dish I highly recommend is the Boneless Spare Ribs with Pork Fried Rice. It's absolutely outstanding! What really makes New Garden special, though, is the people. The owners are incredibly friendly and genuinely appreciate their customers. Their customer service is exceptional, and they always make you feel welcome. I also love that they occasionally bring candies and other unique treats from China. Those little touches give the restaurant a charm that sets it apart from other Chinese restaurants in the area. If you're looking for great Chinese food, generous portions, excellent customer service, and a welcoming atmosphere, I highly recommend giving New Garden a try. This is the second time I've ordered from New Garden up in the Bannerman Publix Plaza and I am more than thoroughly impressed. First time was at pick up, but also near closing. Second time was via DoorDash for delivery, also within an hour and a half of closing. Both times were absolutely amazing! Extremely fast, extremely fresh, and extremely correct, and I feel very fair portions for the price. Not to mention my DoorDasher Victoria was top-tier! Love New Garden! HIGHLY recommend! read more

This is the best Chinese takeout in town by far. The best prices for the portion size. Food is usually ready quickly and is tasty. You can't really go wrong ordering anything on the menu and I haven't had them mess up an order yet. I haven't eaten inside but there is some seating available. Some of the food is okay, some of it is not, I probably won't be investigating the menu any further. Here's some notes to help people out on what to order. These are mainly things to avoid: Egg rolls - cheap, low quality, supremely basic filling Hot and sour soup - way too gelatinous, not good Fried rice - not a fan Mooshu pork - good, nice how they cook the pork crispy Lo mein - decent but dry and kind of bland Mongolian beef - terrible, like rubber, wrong sauce Spicy chicken - decent, but wouldn't order again read more

I've never had New Garden before, I usually order from Niaho, but they're not open on Sundays until 4. I ordered eggs rolls, crab rangoon, cashew chicken, and beef low mein. It was ready when I got there, in 20 minutes, it was delicious. Superb egg roll. The fried rice was hot and perfect. Some cashew chicken is just excess carrots and celery this was a perfect mix of chicken, cashews, and veggies. Definitely the new go to for Chinese food. read more

We really enjoyed our take-out vegetarian meal, as much as two people with colds who can't breathe or taste anything can enjoy. We had 3 vegetable entrees with tofu and white rice: Kung Pao tofu, Broccoli with spicy garlic sauce and Buddha's delight. Last night we both sampled all three entrees and had enough left over for 3 more meals! It was all very tasty (I think). This has the fattiest meat I've ever had. The "white meat" chicken could not have been white meat as it was stringy. The beef was pure fat. The shrimp were fairly good. Rice was dry and old. read more

We like to give new businesses a chance and tried this relatively new restaurant a few months ago. The food was pretty good, so we decided to order from them again. Sadly, our food this time was not great. The fortune cookies and fried wonton noodles were stale and our main course was cold. Although the "house special" rice looked good, it had no taste.
