Let me first start off by saying this. I only go to buffet restaurants as soon as they open. That being said here is my review. For me Chinese buffet is the way to go because ordering different menu items can get EXPENSIVE! So to be able to get all the items I love for around $15 is pretty good. Everything was hot and fresh of course, they just opened, but it really was the taste of the food. Very good. I did notice that this particular place has a different buffet menu for dinner. I just can't recommend, food was old and cold at 5pm, salmon tasted like water, sushi no variety or fresh, boiled shrimp was OK. Hot & sour soup, neither spicy, hot or sour.... The hot tea was good especially with the hot sarachi honey... The buffet in Taylors is more expensive, but better variety, sushi, hibachi, and a whole lot more!! read more

Let me start with "I don't know how this place still open" The food health standards are not apply in this place, the food that should be hot is cold and the food that should be cold is room temperature . This place doesn't even deserve a single star. I ordered through door dash put in special instructions and when i received it my food was completely wrong. Called the store and she reiterated that the order did say no veggies on lo mein Then blamed door dash for it being wrong after informing me door dash told them how to prepare my food. I like Chinese buffets. Unfortunately there are few good ones around any more. I recently moved to the area and decided to give new China a try even though many of the reviews were not very good. I should have paid attention to the low reviews. The food was pretty mediocre. Nothing very good. Service was better than average. The restaurant appeared clean. This place has the usual fare when it comes to Chinese buffets along with decent salad and dessert bars. It is always efficient - nothing goes empty too long - there's a person with radio headset calling out the needs to the kitchen. Not fancy - but clean. I was seated next to a very loud and disruptive man and we literally had to get up and move tables. The staff seemed to speak no English and continued to seat people next to this man who appeared to be on drugs. The hostess was literally oblivious to the situation. Several children were running laps through the dining area - they seemed to be owned by the employees. The building is fairly run-down and looks like it has not been updated since the 70s. It made me leary of the cleanliness of the kitchen. Its the kind of place where your feet stick to the floor when you walk. I gave it 2 stars simply for the large selection of classic Chinese foods like...mac n cheese, deep fried frozen wing dings, and mystery meats floating in a thick corn starch sauce with a layer of dried out skin formed on top of the liquid sauce... read more

New China Super Buffet - a plate of food and a glass of water - Chinese Near Me - Greer, South Carolina

The staff barely speaks enough English to communicate. Food that should be crisp and fresh, like spring rolls and crab rangoons and egg rolls, are soggy and mushy. Their plum sauce is called duck sauce and sickeningly sweet. The crab is actually that fake krab stuff. The broth for the dumpling soup was tasty but the dumplings were falling apart they'd been sitting in it for so long. And I had to fish for the last two dumplings in the pot. They did have fresh cut green onions and fried crunchies to top it with. The peel and eat shrimp was tasty but sparse; they seemed to put about a cup at a time, probably so people didn't take a full plate of it. The cocktail sauce was dismal but there were fresh lemons. My husband said the Mac and cheese was worthy of the south, a big compliment from him. And he thought the fried chicken was okay, better than kfc. They had baked fish that was tasty but it was swimming is some unknown sauce. No idea what kind of fish; something white and mild. Several other proteins were served but most were fried and breaded. I didn't venture into tasting them. My husband declared that the best part of the meal was the ice cream. They had scoop it yourself chocolate and vanilla that was kept in a self serve freezer at just the right temp. Cold enough but not impossible to scoop. They did have some other mundane desserts - chocolate pudding, jello, some kind of layered stuff. The bill for two seniors with iced tea and full buffet was $23.06 plus tip at dinner. All of the food was very stale. The staff was very nice, however it just doesn't make up for poor food. I used to come here for bbq ribs but Mutts up the street is way better. The only trustworthy thing here is the ice cream. The price doesn't justify what you get. The peanut chicken always has a sauce that is more "gel" like than sauce like (think shaving gel before you add the water to it). The sesame chicken always sits in a full bath of sauce and loses any crispy taste that makes it good. Fried food is always bad and burnt or stale. The bathroom are dirty which as a rule speaks for the kitchen and always out of soap which REALLY speaks for the kitchen. Super nice staff, too bad I will never come here again. read more

It's a Buffet! There's not to much to right about when you go to a Chinese buffet. If you've been to one you've been to them all (Unless you are at a Las Vegas buffet). The food is good enough to get your Chinese food craving out. Buffets are usually a place you end up at when you don't know what to eat and want plenty of options. I will note that they do not have a Habachi like other establishments have. I didn't get sick, so I'll be back here again when I get the craving. read more

This is the 2nd time I have gotten food poisoning at this restaurant! I said the last time I would never eat there again, but my daughter talked me into eating there. New China is a favorite of ours. We have been there at least 20 times over the years. It's not the biggest Chinese buffet, or the smallest- but the food is good, and kept fresh, and the prices are very reasonable. The peanut butter chicken is my favorite- I've never found a dish like it anywhere else. They have one semi-private area that we have used several times for family get-togethers (probably seats about 20?). read more
