My husband wanted me to fix the front door since the freeze we all endured over 10 years ago. I tried my DIY fix from foam patch to stuck some towels, to seal the seams with packing tape to adding a drape... Yaddi yadda. Ok. Time to call a professional. Because it's an exterior door, it has to be fiberglass door because steel door will conduct temperature from outside. Hot out hot in and cold out cold in. No lying. I researched before agreed to get it installed. Also, because of the door frame had been badly damaged with years of abuse from the weather, everything has to go. I was told by some carpenters who wanted to just replace out the bad piece of door frame with a piece of wood plank. No way, José. I was so glad that I refused to get another DIY person's work and getting charged for a professional price. According to Kirby, his Mr. Handyman Kirby business has been handed down from his grandfather to his father... for generations. Kirby specializes in doors, drywall repairs and other handyman's tasks. He was professional and polite. My neighbor came by to inquire about his business. I had to give them his card and information. He gave 100% of his attention to my project. That's very important. So, he won't get distracted and delay my project. I really appreciate his policy in taking care of his clients. Guess what, I'm going to enlarge his business card and tape it to my door. ALERT HOUSTON !!! I hired GRADY B to cut a piece of bead board to glue behind on the wall of the…read morehalf bathroom under the stairs. Not a hard task. Well, what a disaster this person is. First, he is very old and he and his brother stink so badly it's offensive to come into someone's home with that stench. They miscalculated and cut the bead board wrong and had to go to purchase another piece. Instead of installing one full piece of board, which was the goal, they split the board down the middle. It looks like bullshite and very amateur. Grady B scratched up the side wall and knocked a little chunk out of the sheet rock. To continue to make matters worse, Grady B broke a large candle stick with his bulky ladder that was actually moved out of the way for safety. He didn't tell me he broke it, not did he confess about the scratched up wall. After 3 hours of blunderbussing around I asked him to leave. He broke my property, ruined the wall I have no touch up paint for, and installed the bead board incorrectly. I won't even mention that Grady B completely misunderstood a request to hardwire lights on the dining room wall. I dont like to be ugly, but this person is also one of those obnoxious " know-it-alls" that doesn't know squat and is not worth the risk and aggravation to have in your home to fix, repair, or install anything. Don't trust this persons skill level.

At the completion of the job, and prior to the final inspection, the Balleza employees cleaned and hauled away all of the debris and excess trash from my property. The roofers showed up on time at 7 am with a team of 6 or 7 and got the house reroofed in one day and did such a great job! I take off on Friday for the installation of the new hot water tank. On Saturday he had the trim team show up to do the flashing, painting of the roof jacks, installation of the turbines, and removal of the gutters, all the carpentry work, and installation of the new door. When the painting began the paint crew comes by to power wash the house and calking the exterior. The next day I take off and the paint crew shows up at 8 am with a team of 6 or 8 people and the house and the exterior back front door was painted in one day. There was an additional day needed to finish the front door. A special thanks to Eddie Hernandez on the excellent job he did on my front door! It looks better than the original finish and I couldn't be happier! The crews worked on Saturday's so I only had to take off two Fridays to get the jobs done. What a dedicated team that does quality work! Great job! If you are looking for a new roof or exterior painting or a company to hire for "turn-key" projects then I highly recommend Balleza Roofing & Construction.
